I wouldn't recommend Winstanleys. I ordered a complete gravel bike which should have been inspected and built correctly. The bike came quickly which I was happy with but it wasn't built properly and unsafe to ride. The brakes were setup terribly and could hardly stop due to the bend in the cables and poor alignment. The chain wasn't sized so the shifting did not work.

The worse part is removing the cranks, I called and asked if they greased the spindle of the BB which they said some of their mechanics don't due to a difference in opinions. Unfortunately, this one wasn't and was torqued really tight, they might as well have welded the cranks to the spindle. An independent bike shop had to cut off the spindle to remove the cranks the BB.

If you're after a bike that's safe to right from the box, or aren't willing to take it all apart to ensure it's properly built then I would advise to spend your money elsewhere.

Pros - attractive price but you will likely have to pay a lot more due to the poor assembly job. Guy on the phone was nice enough.

Cons - terribly quality and response time on email.

I ordered a bike on the morning of March 9th for my daughter's birthday on March 18th. The website stated the bike is dispatched after 3-4 days so based on this ample time for the bike to arrive ahead of the birthday (and why I placed the order). Later that afternoon I got an email saying the bike was out of stock and would arrive from the supplier on March 17th. I emailed the same day informing that at the very least I needed the bike by the 19th, asking if they could make this happen. I had no response to the email. I tried calling every single day thereafter couldn't get through. I again emailed on Fri 13th asking for a response or a refund if they couldn't deliver. Finally I got through to someone on the phone that morning who stated he would update me at the end of the day, no call arrived. I called back and someone else answered and stated the bike will arrive on Monday 17th and they will do next day delivery. I again stated that if they cannot guarantee this to give me a refund, I was reassured. I again called Mon and Tue with no answer. on Thu 19th got an email stating the bike wouldn't be with them until Mar 27th. I have now had to scramble to find a bike (and not the one my daughter wanted) for her birthday. Birthday ruined. Pathetic response.

Avoid at all costs. Whatever saving your getting purchasing from Winstanleys will be offset by the time you have to waste. The bike i received was not inspected properly prior to shipping.. It was damaged in several places that could not have happened during shipping as the box was intact. Was initially offered a £49 discount for me to keep the damaged bike. What an insult, it would not surprise me if its a method they are using just to get rid of some damaged bikes. Have since been given the run around by customer service with stories of returns mechanics and false promises. Have now wasted several days dealing with this Joke shop operation.. You are much better off spending a bit more and dealing with a company with proper customer service

Avoid this bike shop. They didn’t send the item I bought, and have had no refund.

If you are lucky and receive good goods then you are lucky! But if you dont win the lottery and there are problems with your order then you are left on your own.

I have bought bikes from them before and it was fine. But now they sent me a damaged bike and they dont want to resolve it. Repairs will cost about 160 quid for a brand new bike from Winstanleys. And Im been in limbo with that bike 11 days already. I have it half unpacked in my living room all this time waiting on them to let me know if I should send it back or what. Im not very pleased to say the least.

The company has a wide variety in personal specifications also appealing to all riders in consideration of the necessary bike parts for you type of back ground style for all vigorous tasks you may throw at you bike.

I have had a bad experience with a bar tape which degraded very quickly. I raised a ticket with customer services and am being ignored. Not very quick to respond. I’m sure they will soon

Good deals fast delivery

I recently purchased a genuine Bosch battery for my electric bike from Winstanley Bikes and I couldn’t be happier! The price was very reasonable, the ordering process was straightforward, and the delivery was incredibly fast. The battery arrived in perfect condition, and it works exactly as expected.

Ordered a pair of Ergon GA3 grips and they sent out the wrong ones. No bother, sent them an email to see about getting them exchanged. Over a week later now and followed up and still no response. Ignoring customers after making mistakes is just bad business

Winstanleys Bikes were great. I bought lights for two bikes from their extensive and well priced range. Packaging was spot on and speedy delivery to boot.

Had the item in stock, didn't just take the money and then confess it's out of stock/awaiting deliveries. Delivery was quick and efficient

A replacement bike was delivered and the original collected with minimum fuss. Very happy with the bike, the competitive price, and overall exceptional service.
