Our transportation, lodging, food and guides were all provided with exquisite service and professionalism. We spent two days trekking with the gorillas and had the experience of a lifetime!

From inception to completion, Brilliant Africa gave us a trip of a lifetime to Kenya, Tanzania and Zanzibar. Tracy was so helpful in consulting with us at the beginning of the planning process. She listened to our desires, fielded our questions, and proposed an exceptional itinerary. From there, Aly expertly managed our preparation and deftly checked in to make sure we had our vaccinations and visa paperwork in order.

The trip itself was thrilling and we are still dreaming about zebras and wildebeest. The guides in the Masai Mara and Serengeti were excellent: knowledgeable, good-humored, and fun to be with. We didn't have to worry about paperwork or internal flights. Kudos to Nyikani Migration Camp, a special place with fantastic staff.

Trip of a lifetime! The trip was well organized. We were worried that all the "transfers" (getting from airports to hotels/resorts to the parks, etc) would go as planned and they DID!! The guides were on time (if not early), VERY knowledgeable and cared about what we wanted to see/do. THANK YOU

My wife and I decided to take a trip to Africa for our 10-year anniversary and it was the most memorable trip we have ever been on! Many tour companies promise the moon. But we all know that travel more than ever can be plagued by delays and/or cancellations that result in missed tours, safaris, or ship departures. That’s when company promises are tested. I experienced a flight delay and missed connecting flights, but the Brilliant team made certain that my transfers were adjusted for my late arrival and my safari proceeded as planned.
I learned that starting a day early is good protection against the uncertainty of air travel.
Other than the flight delay and a cancellation on my departure for home my Tanzanian safari was exactly as Brilliant Africa described - superb.

Tracy and Alyson from Brilliant Africa were great to work with. They asked us what we wanted to do and see and created a gorilla trekking and safari trip that was tailored to us.

Tracy and Alyson planned a wonderful anniversary trip for us to Kenya, Tanzania and Zanzibar. The game camps were wonderful, providing gourmet meals, private game drives twice a day & we were even situated right on the amazing Mara River! Zanzibar was a perfect place to relax after the excitement of the game drives. It is a beautiful resort right on gorgeous Paje beach on the Indian Ocean with white sand, crystal clear water and delicious food and drink.

At each location we had the opportunity to build relationships with the staff and our drivers. We learned a lot about their communities and the African culture. Everyone was a step ahead of us the entire time which made for a relaxing trip. If you're looking for a trip that combines adventure, wildlife, and relaxation, this is the perfect choice thanks to Brilliant African and their travel partners.

The Brilliant Africa team, led by Aly Morgan, did an exceptional job of planning and seeing my family through the perfect safari experience. The attention to our needs, to details large and small, and the responsiveness overall was absolutely first-rate. We felt like VIPs the whole way through our two weeks in Kenya and Tanzania.

We have no words to describe how amazing our entire trip was from beginning to end. We first want to mention how easy planning was. This team was so easy to work with and custom made a perfect itinerary based on our requests and price range. We did 5 days in Zanzibar to adjust to the time zone, 6 night Tanzania safari followed by gorilla trekking in Rwanda. They made it easy be presenting options that you could pick along the way and modify as needed. While in Africa, the team and accommodations were top notch. Not once did anything fall through the cracks and everyone was so attentive and accommodating and friendly to spend time with. We loved our guides and our lodges and food and transportation was never a worry. It felt like everyone was a step ahead of us the entire time which made for a relaxing trip. Even when our flight to Kigali got changed they were easy to contact and helpful in adjusting plans immediately. We plan on recommending Brilliant Africa to all of our family and friends and hope to return to Africa in the future with our future family or for some mission work as physicians. We had the best honeymoon largely thanks the them!

The camp was rustic and luxurious , provided a family suite which I requested, gourmet meals, private game drives twice a day & situated on the amazing Mara River ! Tracey and Alyson curated our Kenya and Tanzania trip and it was flawless from start to finish. This was my 3rd trip to Africa and my husband's 2nd and it exceeded all expectations. Our accommodations were spot on and in-country flights were seamless. Having a dedicated private driver at each location for air transfers and game drives gave us an opportunity to build relationships with each, learn about their communities and culture. Their travel partners at each location provided the same flawless service. In addition, my husband had unique dietary requirements as a result of recovery from oral cancer and Alyson communicated with each location and all staff members were aware and prepared to accommodate him upon our arrival. It truly made this trip possible for him, for which we are very grateful .

Ally and Tracy did a phenomenal job of helping us plan a family safari for ten people. They were so responsive and helpful throughout the entire planning process. No question or concern was too small. Ally’s personal knowledge of Tanzania was especially helpful.

They worked with Hoopoe Safaris to provide our actual experience. We felt very fortunate to have such wonderful guides who were personable and knowledgeable not only about the animals but the culture. Good guides make all the difference. We saw the “Big Nine” plus many more animals. Our camps were located so we were in very close proximity but always safe. Our drivers were skilled at navigating the roads and keeping us from large crowds of jeeps. We loved the cultural tours of both Arusha and Mto Wa Tbu.

Our itinerary was well paced and we had the opportunity to stay in three diverse tented camps as well as a lodge in Usa River and a resort in Zanzibar. We would rate each one highly but for different reasons. They all provided great service and food. Four of the five would be considered luxury but the fifth gave us such a unique perspective that it shouldn’t be missed.

Zanzibar is quite a change from an actual safari but so very interesting. The day trip was enlightening and the resort was lovely with excellent food and entertainment, pools and the beach on the Indian Ocean.

Really appreciated the guides getting us settled at several different African airports by helping us navigate the check in process. Also want to mention we always felt completely safe whether in the bush or the crowded streets of Zanzibar. The Tanzanian people are so friendly and welcoming.

Our trip was “life changing” and definitely a five star trip of a “lifetime.”

This whole trip was phenomenal. Our guide was so great. He was patient, humorous, kind and very knowledgeable. Our lodgings were so comfortable. We felt very taken care of and safe. Probably the biggest reason this trip was phenomenal was the friendly and warm African people.

The Safari was great.

We recently stayed at Grumeti Hills and wanted to share a few important details. Grumeti Hills only allows electric safari vehicles inside their private concession, which is great for the environment—but it's crucial to know this ahead of time because you should move with the wildlife and don't want to be disappointed.

If you're planning to explore the wider Serengeti National Park beyond the Grumeti area, be aware that you'll need a diesel vehicle, as electric vehicles are not allowed in the national park. This also means paying additional Serengeti park entry fees, and arranging a compatible vehicle separately, which can be an unexpected logistical and financial surprise.

We recommend confirming these details with your tour operator before booking, so you can plan your itinerary and budget accordingly. The experience at Grumeti Hills itself was unique and peaceful, but the transportation rules are something every traveler should be prepared for.

Brilliant Africa organized the most wonderful trip to Tanzania and Uganda for myself and a group of friends. Every excursion was mind blowing and each lodge was picturesque and unique. The staff at Brilliant Africa, along with all of the staff within the trip were highly professional, knowledgeable, fun and organized. There is not one thing I would change about our trip and will only use Brilliant Africas services for future trips!

Unbelievable experience

This safari was a trip of a lifetime. Aly was incredibly hands on and adaptable to whatever our evolving needs were. We also LOVED our driver Priscus - he was super kind, knowledgeable and fun. Couldn't recommend this further - we felt safe the whole time and will be sharing our stories and pictures with friends for a long time!
