**Prepaid car refused – avoid ExpediCar**

I fully prepaid for a 9-seat automatic vehicle, but ExpediCar refused to give me the car at 4:00 AM.

The employee claimed my credit card was unacceptable because the word “Credit” was not printed on it — a requirement that does not appear in the rental conditions. I have this explanation recorded on video.

All this so that I would pay 600 euros for insurance that I didn't need...

We were left outside early in the morning with children, a baby and all our luggage, and I had to urgently rent another vehicle for **€1,100**.

I have video, photos and documentation of the entire incident.

Based on my experience, I strongly recommend avoiding ExpediCar.

WARNING!!! Rented car was good, BUT I felt like be pressed to purchase their insurance at least for another 200 EUR with many advantages, it was like a kind extortion. I refuse it having mine insurance with the credit card. Finally, I was charged 500 EUR as a kind discount, otherwise I should pay 1200 EUR for following 3 small scratches: wheel, side mirror, front bumper. Without any explanation why they charge me 200+200+100 EUR. Be very careful!!! I DON'T RECOMMEND that company!!! IT IS UNFAIR BUSINESS. Look at their conditions: "Any type of fault is considered damage, including but not limited to: superficial scratches, bends, stains, cracks , discolorations, etc. At return, the car elements must be in perfect condition or in the same condition as at the time of delivery, otherwise they are considered damage and contractual penalties will apply according to Annex 3."

We booked our car online, but when we arrived at the airport, it was very difficult to find their office. We eventually contacted them by phone and were picked up and taken by car to a location near the airport.
Once we arrived, they started claiming that the name on our bank card was not written in full and that, because of this, we had to purchase their insurance, which was around £500. We already had our own insurance, but they claimed that it was not valid and did not provide sufficient coverage.
We had our small child with us, while my partner was on the phone with their manager trying to resolve the situation. Unfortunately, we felt that the whole process was designed to pressure us into paying additional and unexpected costs.
We decided not to accept their terms and gave up on the rental. Only after we refused did they start offering us different alternatives, but in their favour of course.
In my opinion, this company should not be operating this way. Customers should not be put in a situation where they feel they have no choice but to pay hundreds of pounds in unexpected charges.
I will be taking this matter further and reporting our experience to the relevant authorities. I strongly recommend that other customers be extremely careful and avoid this company.

We have a badly experience with these people, I never recommend this company to anyone.
We pay for the car and fully insurance for weeks in advance, when we arrived at the office they ignored my insurance and they wanted me to pay extra for insurance around £480.

We have a small kid with us and we didn't receive any water or anything else…. Standing in 35+ degrees.

It's ending to hire a uber from Bucharest to Brasov for an extra cost.
Please avoid.

I had booked a rental car through Discover Cars with the company Expedi Car, to be picked up at Bucharest Airport. The rental (which I had already paid for) included full coverage. However, to pick up the vehicle, at the office they demanded a €1,200 deposit... which had to be paid using a card with highly raised, embossed numbers; cards with only slightly raised numbers were not accepted. They also refused to accept the deposit in cash, via a card belonging to another passenger, or via Bizum. Consequently, to get the vehicle (and it was 4:00 a.m.), I was forced to pay for their own additional insurance, costing me €578 on my credit card—the very same card they had refused to accept for the deposit. This is clearly A SCAM to extract that €578! I was coerced by the need to secure the vehicle—which I had already paid to rent months in advance.

Nu mai inchiriasem pana acum , deci eram paralela cu orice inseamna sau presupune asta . Am sunat undeva ( alta firma care mi a aparut in prima linie pe google ) , loc in care m au flituit telefonic si am ramas la fel de nedumerita ca la inceput . La ei a fost al doilea apel . Cu sinceritate va spun ca acum ma pot apuca si eu de inchiriat masini 🤣🤣 La oamenii acestia am dat de un OM care pe langa faptul ca a fost super amabil , politicos , a fost si super pregatit si mi a explicat totul cu lux de amanunte , astfel incat sa nu am surprize ulterior . Exact cum mi a comunicat , asa a decurs totul . A fost la superlativ . Am inchiriat o masina 7+1 pentru un drum dus intors la mare cu gasca 😅 cu tot cu sofer ! Soferul minunat , s a distrat si el cu noi si nu ne a spus nu la absolut nimic ! Masina ingrijita , curata … Nu am efectiv ce sa le reprosez . BRAVO ! Va multumesc ! Recomand !

Nu este prima data cand inchiriez o masina, dar este prima data cand scriu un review, pentru ca era pacat sa n-o fac. Am plecat la drum pregătita psihic pentru clasicele discuții despre 'zgârieturi invizibile' sau garanții reținute pe nedrept. Nimic din toate astea. Preluare în 3 minute, predare în 2 minute. Mașina a mers perfect. 11 stele din 10, mi-au stricat complet plăcerea de a mă certa cu cineva în concediu! Felicitari!

Recomand cu drag! Am închiriat de două ori de la ei , mașinile curate, nu am avut nici o problemă cu ele, iar băieții au răspuns mereu la solicitări foarte ok, indiferent de oră. Sunt foarte amabili si profi. Felicitări! 👏

Auténticos ladrones. No reservar con ellos!!!!, te van a estafar gastos adicionales por limpieza que son falsos. Reserva mediante DiscoveryCar y te a la entrega se inventan que el coche está sucio para contarte gastos adicionales de 100€ y si no te retienen la fianza. NO RESERVAR!!!

Misleading booking: on the website they offer something, price , conditions, deposit then email , car not available and offering alternative with much higher price without deposit. To the request of price with deposit- option not possible. Happened twice, I am glad I did not proceed reading all the scams they do!

Our experience with expedicar was amazing, Lucian was really helpful with the booking process, we recommend them for renting cars.
