Balfe’s bike shops are a cyclists heaven! The range of bikes and parts are amazing. The pricing on spares is competitive and their click and collect service is really great. I would recommend a visit if you are in anyway interested in cycling.

Have been incredibly considerate with every question and request I have had. Chiefly, they provided me with a free cardboard box for me to take my bike to Portugal.

Excellent service! Very friendly and knowledgeable staff. My bicycle was sorted in no time at all. Also, very reasonably priced.

The correct bike was delivered on time from your Gatwick centre, and when I visited your Chiswick branch to attend to the noisy brakes, the work was carried out efficiently while I waited.

However you dropped a star because the rack carrier bag would not fit, and when I brought it back while I was having the warranty work carried out, a refund could not be given, and I had to take it back home and then post it myself to the Gatwick centre.

The staff are efficient, friendly and knowledgeable. I needed to replace my brakes so I took my bike to Halfords where they said they'd have to keep it for at least a week. The staff at Balfe's in Chiswick got the job done in under 20 minutes & didn't try to upsell me anything else.

I recently brought my gravel bike in for repairs, needing a new chain and a full adjustment of the gears. After inspecting the damage, the mechanic gave me a prompt call to explain the issue and walk me through the necessary steps. The entire process was handled with complete transparency and efficiency — I really appreciated the clear communication and timely service. Thanks again for the excellent work!

What a brilliant store full of professionals who know their way around a bike and kit. I went in for help today, fixed it on the spot. A great customer experience, nothing was too much trouble, they were amazing. I now have a new go-to bike shop.

BalfeBikes are great cycling gear shop in Chiswick. I ordered Chamonix 3 helmet and a pair of gloves on line recently and collected from the shop. They offer great value and excellent product range. Staff are knowledgeable and processed efficiently the replacement order for gloves that didn’t fit me well. Having option to collect for free from the store is super, as saves customers time and money and allows one to correct issues with sizing. The helmet I bought is super, I highly recommend it. It was easily adjusted and had fantastic safety record /price from safety evaluation done by imperial university. I feel much safer on the road and helmet fits well.

Im extremely disappointed with the service from Balfe’s Bikes.

I ordered a bike with an estimated delivery of 1st October, but since then the communication and service has been unacceptable. I’ve had to call three times for updates, and on each occasion I was given false information:

- Told the bike would arrive Friday for collection Monday/Tuesday – no update, no bike.
- Told it was in transit and due Wednesday for collection Friday – again, nothing.
- Finally, I receive an email stating delivery is now pushed back to the 17th (at the earliest) due to the supplier.

So the bike was never in transit and was never due on the days / dates given.

This means your staff were not checking with the supplier or tracking properly, but simply giving me random dates while holding £1,400 of my money. This is not a single mistake – it has happened repeatedly.

When I called again this morning, there was no apology, no accountability, and no real update. This level of service is unacceptable, and I expect a clear explanation and accurate communication on when I will actually receive my bike.

Unfortunately wouldn't recommend due to their staff and customer support.

Superb considerate communication and service as ever

All the staff are helpful, knowledgeable and keen to make it a pleasurable experience at Balfe Chiswick. They go out of their way to help you and are interested to know more about you as a cyclist.

Staff were very helpful, polite, friendly and knowledgeable. They gave good advice on the bike particularly battery charging and the reasons why it should not be charged at 100% on a regular basis. I can’t recall them mentioning the Hyena phone app for the bike.
It was unfortunate that when I called to collect the bike beforehand they told me that the front light cable had broken and had only just noticed. The rear light has black insulation tape on the cable. I am surprised that Trek don’t fit proper wiring sheaths. I goes that this is an issue with Trek rather than Balfes.
Other than that I was pleased with Balfe’s customer care which included contact by e mail and on the phone.

Great bike mechanic. Did what I wanted and made my Specialized bike run like new..

This review score relates only to this visit. Although I had to return after a service to have an additional part fitted I felt the overall service was good but their not checking this before releasing the bike is the reason I am not giving 4-5 stars. They are usually very thorough, I though £35 seemed a lot for a new chain and the tuning service cost £70 plus parts so the running of the bike needed to be checked.in total I spent £160 for the service.
