Very disappointing experience with AA Service Care. They recommended a garage that appears to operate under multiple different names.

I was initially told my vehicle had failed its MOT and was unsafe to drive. I was then issued with a passed MOT certificate for the same vehicle. Concerned, I took the car to a different garage, who confirmed it had in fact failed its MOT and should not have been driven. The reason for the failure was also different from what the AA-recommended garage had originally told me.

When I raised these concerns with AA Service Care, they were dismissive and rude, offering no meaningful assistance. Despite recommending the garage, they took no responsibility for helping to resolve the issue. The only advice I received was, “It’s not our problem – contact the DVSA.”

I expected far better customer service and support from a company that recommends repairers to its customers. Instead, they took my money and left me to deal with a potentially serious safety issue on my own.

Booking was fine. However, on the day, I dropped off the car at the scheduled time and then heard nothing. I tried contacting the AA but was stuck in a long phone queue. I was also awaiting a response from them via WhatsApp. Given that it was now less than an hour before the garage closed, I decided to go down there. They were surprised the AA hadn't given me a call. So, they explained the situation to me and I decided to not go ahead with additional work. Five minutes before the garage closed, the AA quote came through via email (still no call to confirm). To decline additional work, you have to call or email them. I have no desire to sit in another phone queue but perhaps unsurprisingly, 3 working days later, I have not had a response to the email. A service that I thought would make the process more painless ended up adding a load of additional unnecessary stress.

Good friendly service provided at a reasonable cost.

It happened exactly as told it would on the phone. Pleasant young man who seemed to know what he was doing. I'm know expert but the car seems ok. I wished I'd asked more questions like did they put Anti freeze inn
Did he check the tyres. He said I would receive a report but that didn't arrive.

Very good and efficient service at a competitive price

Finally got my vehicle back, despite the garage truning round and now using the excuse that the vehicle has no petrol in it, I had a quarter tank and its 5 miles away. How is it empty?? Very dodgy

Poor experience of booking as technician didn't show up on original date. Poor communication on this day.
When rebooked, the technician Glenn was brilliant, gave updates on timing and did a great job.
1 star for original booking experience, 5 stars for Glenn

Extremely poor service, cancelled 2 days before my appointment for brake replacement. No availability for over 2 weeks. Will not use again. Call handler I spoke to was useless. Avoid.

Bad experience, had to call AA/Smart Care every time something needed fixing on the car. The garage didint want to talk to me until it was paid Smart Care/AA system. Took forever to get fixed with faults being added on a daily basis.

Overall great experience except I had to call about 4-5 times to get an update on whether or not the mechanic was still coming, we ended up rescheduling to the following day and he did a brilliant job however the company did not issue him a stamp so I have a service book noted with service but no official stamp at all

I recently used the AA app to book my MOT as I had been getting reminders that it was due to
I was so surprised to find that it was completely painless considering the minefield it is to try and find a reputable garage that doesn’t over charge.
I paid a lot less for this MOT than I thought possible - I’m guessing that’s a perk of being an AA member?
Anyways I click on the booking option and was presented with a couple of garage options and chose the one most local to me and put in my payment info and received confirmation that I was to drop my car at the garage on the date and time specified. That was it!
I dropped my car off in the morning and a couple of hours later collected it with a fresh MOT. The garage then authorised the payment from my card. Fuss free and very convenient. I highly recommend using the AA to book an MOT

On time very polite fantastic service from story to finish.

So easy to arrange and get an appointment with a garage.Booking this
was simple and spreading the cost over four payments at no extra cost is ideal for me with a tight budget.

The mobile mechanic was very polite, informative and helpful in explaining what else I needed to get done she’s did an MOT. He checked all my engine bay topped up fluids and sorted a loose panel under the car. Was done on the driveway so super convenient and only took 2 hours to replace brake discs and pads all round.
