Thank you for your review. I understand that this has been a frustrating experience.

To clarify the situation: the item you purchased was not compatible with your hearing aids. We did not provide a recommendation for this model prior to the order, and we did not receive a request for guidance before the purchase was placed.

We also note from our email correspondence that the return was only sent back recently, as you were away on vacation. For that reason, the refund has not yet been processed. As stated in our returns policy, refunds are completed within 14 days after the returned item has been received and checked in at our warehouse. You will receive a confirmation by email as soon as the refund is issued.

We regret the inconvenience and appreciate your understanding.

Just to clarify, all prices on our website are listed and charged in USD, not Australian Dollars.
If you’ve seen anything that indicates AUD anywhere on our site, we’d really like to know exactly where, so we can correct it right away.
Regarding shipping, our free shipping offer applies to orders over $70 after discounts are applied, which explains the small difference in your total.

That is correct - we have cancelled your order due to the new tariffs in the US, we have also notified you and refunded you. You would simply pay to much in handling when you only order 1 package of waxfilters.

Speed of response from questions

Speed of response from questions, and the fact that the items bought are genuine and from the original manufacturer (no fake copies). Also the level of detail provided, plus the prices. A local hearing center wanted over twice what I wound up spend including Tariffs and duties and would take 2 weeks vs 3 days!

Oticon Dynamo SP6 Earhooks

Thank you for the Oticon SP6 Dynamo ear hooks! I tried reaching out to Oticon many weeks ago but they didn't help. All they wanted me to do was schedule an appointment with my audiologist which costs money. Japebo really pulled through with the ease of ordering online. I wish the response time was quicker though (My reason for 4 stars). The first person got back to me with questions and then disappeared. The second person, Thomas, went the extra mile for me. I was able to get the ear hooks in time for my 2-day business trip. Everything worked out great! I plan to order more soon. Thank you, again.

Was charged extra $31 from dhl for import duties

Was charged $20 for shipping when placing the order then sent an additional invoice from DHL for $31.00 import export duties and tax processing. A reputable company that ships to USA should know of potential shipping issues with current laws and advise customers before placing order.

DHL returns my order last week and I didn’t get a refund from my return order.
The shipping information did not include port fees; which's were $32 on top of the $20 shipping costs.
My original order was $30 for Phonak hearing aid cushions.

Thank you for your message. You will of course receive your refund as soon as your return has been received and inspected at our warehouse.

And yes, you are absolutely right — the new U.S. Customs regulations (de minimis rule) have unfortunately affected many international shipments. Previously, imports valued under $800 USD entered the U.S. duty-free, but since the adjustments introduced in 2025, many carriers such as DHL now apply handling and processing fees on top of the standard shipping cost, even for small parcels.

These fees are set and collected by the shipping company and U.S. Customs, not by us, and are therefore outside of our control.

We appreciate your understanding and will notify you as soon as your refund has been processed.

Additional shipping charge after I ordered online

i purchased an item online that cost 19.80 and had a shipping charge of 20.00 for a total order price of 39.80. After the order was shipped I received a request by the shipping company for an additional 21.31. I did not want to pay an additional shipping charge. When I contacted Japebo they said they would only refund the amount of the item - 19.80. I should be refunded the total amount of my order 39.80.

When I purchase something online and there is a line item for shipping, and I pay that, it is wrong to charge an additional shipping charge to receive the item.

We completely understand your frustration regarding the additional charge from the shipping company. Unfortunately, since the new U.S. customs regulations and tariffs were introduced, international retailers like us have faced sudden and unpredictable import handling fees beyond our control.

We always refund the full product amount once the parcel is returned to us, but shipping and customs fees are set directly by DHL and U.S. Customs.

We truly regret the inconvenience this caused and are actively working to establish local U.S. shipping options to prevent this from happening in the future.

DO NOT USE THEM IF YOU ARE IN THE U.S.!

I ordered hearing aid accy's on order #12153854 Sept. of 2025, just last month.
When placing this order I was given shipping charges of around $25.00 for DHL.
When the order was on it's way, I received a phone call from DHL requesting an additional $25.00 for duty fees.
The problem is, I was never made aware of these additional charges and I would have never placed the order if I would have known this in advance.
Now I'm out $58.00 because of this.
I did contact Japebo customer service and was told once they receive it back, they will issue credit.
The problem is DHL still has the package and is hard to deal with. They are now mentioning storage fees.

I am very cautious purchasing on line

I am very cautious purchasing on line. I validate companies I have no experience with or knowledge of, like Japebo, by checking with the Better Business Bureau. I needed a replacement receiver for my Phonak (actually labeled Kirkland for Costco) right hearing aid. Amazon sent me three for the left side even though I had ordered one for the right side. I had become difficult to find an acceptable vendor for my right side receiver so I decided to risk Japebo. You substituted a version 5 receiver for the version 4 one I had ordered. I am disappointed that you did not seek my OK before making that substitution. But, all's well that ends well, it fit and it works fine. Japebo is tops in my book!

Phonak has discontinued the older Receiver 4.0, which is why we sent you the updated version – M Receiver 5.0. You should have received an automatic notice about this substitution when placing your order. The only difference between the 4.0 and 5.0 models is the wax filter system – otherwise, the function and fit are the same.
