I payed for a rental for pickup at Krakow Głowny location. There was no signage, no pickup parking stall, no office. I could not get a hold of a carwiz agent through the website as I was running half an hour late and could not find the pickup location. When I finally got though to an agent, they had given car away. They would not reimburse me for the payed and reserved car. I was left stranded. Worst service.
Update: October 2025: While Carwiz has promised to reach out to me to resolve the issue, they have not, and in fact continued through arbitration to force me to pay. Please save your money and rent a vehicle from someone else.

The worst hire car company ever. Stay away from them it is a scam.

I hired a car via Booking.com to pick up at Rseszow aiport last October, the car was dirty outside and inside.The car was not taken care of but they had nothing else to offer me.
I also had to hire at an additional cost a GPS device that was was supposed to return to the customer service at the airport.

On my return the customer desk at the airport was closed so I had to leave it with a different hire company that was open. There was nobody to return the key and properly check the car on return. I left the key in some key box they had to go and take my flight.

I received an email a day or two later and they charged me over 600 Euros on my credit card and submitted some fake pictures that I scratched the car!!!

Stay away from this company they are a scam.

Unprofessional and Dishonest – Avoid Carwiz Poland at Kraków and Katowice Airports

I had an extremely disappointing and unprofessional experience with Carwiz Poland, both at Kraków and Katowice airport locations.

Before arrival, I was clearly quoted €14 per day for the Super Collision Damage Waiver (SCDW). However, when I reached the counter, the staff ignored this agreement and attempted to charge me €61 per day instead. When I asked for an explanation, the staff became noticeably rude, defensive, and uncooperative — and then inexplicably increased the price further to €80. This felt punitive and completely unjustified, simply because I questioned the charges.

What’s worse is that they refused to escalate the matter or allow me to speak to a manager. Instead, they altered paperwork and added charges with no transparency. It felt like the pricing was being made up on the spot.

In contrast, reputable companies like Europcar and Hertz follow structured, computerized pricing systems. Their rates are fixed, fair, and clearly documented — not arbitrarily increased depending on the customer’s reaction. What I experienced with Carwiz was not only unprofessional, but also unethical.

This kind of behavior is unacceptable, especially at international airport branches where professionalism and trust are expected. I strongly advise anyone traveling to Poland to avoid Carwiz and choose a more reputable company that respects its customers and operates with integrity.

In fact, I contacted CarJet (the broker) directly to verify the source of the rate, and **they confirmed that the €14 per day rate was quoted specifically for Carwiz's own SCDW coverage, not for a third-party protection plan.

Therefore, your claim that this rate was unrelated to Carwiz is not accurate and appears to be an attempt to deflect responsibility. If there was a discrepancy between what was advertised through your partners and what was offered at the counter, the responsibility for that miscommunication lies with Carwiz and your affiliate network—not with the customer.

Furthermore, the conduct of your staff at both Kraków and Katowice airports was unprofessional and, frankly, unacceptable. Not only was I pressured to accept an inflated rate of €61 per day, but when I challenged this, the rate was arbitrarily raised to €80 per day without any clear explanation or documentation. Staff were defensive, dismissive, and unwilling to escalate the matter, leaving me feeling manipulated and deceived.

This kind of behavior severely undermines trust in your company. Reputable rental providers maintain transparent, consistent pricing, especially at international airports. The lack of transparency and hostile service I encountered from Carwiz is not in line with professional standards expected in this industry.

I stand by my experience and review. I also encourage future customers to exercise caution and document all rates and communications in writing when dealing with Carwiz.

We rented a car in Krakow and agreed to pick it up at the train station, but the email gave no clear instructions. As first-time visitors, we had no idea the meeting point was on the rooftop parking – no signage, no directions. When we called, the attitude was unhelpful and rude.
The car arrived 30 minutes late. Thankfully, it was in good condition and served us well during the trip.
The return was even worse. We arrived early and called, but no one answered. When we reached someone, we were scolded for not calling an hour in advance – something we had never been told to do. We were told we’d now have to wait 1–2 hours.
We waited over 2 hours, almost 3. Calls were ignored or declined. Eventually, they told us to just leave the car unlocked with the keys inside and not wait. No one ever showed up while we were there.
The entire experience felt disorganized and disrespectful – as if they were mocking us.
The car itself was fine, and the deposit was returned, but the lack of communication, disorganization, and poor treatment make this a rental company we would not use again.

SCAM.
They charge for damages that never happened -
Luckily, chargeback was completed and got my money back.
AVOID THIS FRAUDSTERS

Update based on their replies: Dont even mess with their CS - you ll receive same useless templates. Just chargeback through your bank and will get your money back (as luckily happened to me)

To moja druga ocena carwiz pierwsza była negatywna 1 gwiazdka, ale postanowiłem dać szansę firmie. Tym razem panowie z Ukrainy bardzo mili, nawet jeden z nich wyszedł do mnie bo nie mogłem znależć parkingu. Bardzo przyjazna atmosfera przed wyporzyczeniam i po także. Samochód czysty odebrałem i czyściutki oddałem tak jak poprzednim razem. Tym razem nie naliczono mi opłat od nie wiem czego. Bardzo mnie to cieszy. Ocena byłaby na 5 gwiazdek gdyby nie fakt, że zapłaciłem niespodziewanie więcej niż na dokumencie tzw. " voucher" o jakieś 70 PLN. Tłumaczenie było takie że to różnica kursu złotego do dolara kanadyjskiego. Uznaje to za mydlenie oczu klientowi. Jeśli na voucherze jest kwota do zapłaty to taką kwotę powinno się pobrać.
Może następnym razem i to się poprawi. Życzę wszystkiego dobrego firmie i jej pracownikom.

Wroclaw Airport- I have used Carwiz a few times in the past as as well as recently and I have to say that every time the Customer Service at the airport was very friendly with prompt responses on the emails as well. It was easy to use, everything was spelled out in the contract and repeated to me by the Customer Service without any hidden tricks. A very pleasant experience.

Avoid This Company at All Costs – Unfair, Dishonest, and Unresponsive

I wish I had read the reviews before renting from this company. Absolutely avoid them.

We hired a car and received no check sheet, no inspection report, and no walk-around to record existing damage. I had to take my own pictures and videos of the car from every angle at pickup and again at drop-off to protect myself.

The next day, they emailed us claiming there was a tiny dent, providing a blurry picture with no registration number or proof that it was even our car. We immediately asked for clearer evidence, more photos, and documentation — but they completely ignored all of our requests.

We then sent our own photos and videos, clearly showing the area they claimed was damaged was in perfect condition when we returned it. Still, they went silent.

Without any further communication, they deducted €420 from our deposit on day two.

This is outrageous, unfair, and feels like a scam designed to target tourists. They ignored our evidence, avoided communication, and charged us anyway.

Do not trust this company.
They should be investigated and shut down. What they’re doing is unethical and takes advantage of genuine customers who follow the rules.

Just had a really frustrating experience with CarWiz. Poor customer service, hidden fees, and a vehicle that was far from what I reserved. To make things worse, the return process was disorganized and I was charged extra without explanation. Creating not existing damage if you don't buy they insurance. they charge me for not existing scratch on already damage rims and bumper 800 euro me I expected better — I won’t be using them again, and I’d suggest others double-check everything before renting. If you don't buy extra insurance they always screw you

Niestety nie przeczytalem opini przed wypożyczeniem auta i dzis spotkała nas bardzo nie mila niespodzianka.
Tak w skrócie oddaliśmy auto i Pan Kamil odrazu znalazl ryskę i wysłał zdjęcia do swojego szefa ktory byl na urlopie i nie odbierał telefonu.
Pan Kamil kazal nam opuścić biuro i powiedział ze prześlę nam dodatkowe koszta itd
W międzyczasie prosiliśmy pana Kamila o dokument ze zwróciliśmy auto którego ten nie niechcial nam wydać gdyż stwierdził ze nie moze " zamknąć kontraktu"
Musialem skontaktować sie z prawnikiem oraz zadzwonić na policję gdyż w przeciwnym wypadku mogliby sobie naliczyc ile chcieli i nie oddać nam depozytu (€1400)
W momencie w którym zadzwoniłem na policję Pan Kamil nagle oznajmił nam ze jego menedżer ocenił szkody na okolo €170.
Chciałem tylko podkreślić ze ów menadżer byl na wakacjach i na podstawie marnych zdjęć które przesłał pan Kamil ,nagle po zawiadomieniu przez nas policji wycenił szkodę na 750zl.
Spędziłem tam ponad dwie godziny czekając na dokument potwierdzający ze zdałem samochód.
Dopiero po zawiadomieniu policji Pan Kamil nagle przybiegł powiedzieć ze mam dokument zdania samochodu na meilu plus 750zl kary za rysę której nie zrobiłem.
Teraz sprawa zajmuje sie mój prawnik.
Proszę omijać szerokim łukiem bo ta firma okrada ludzi którzy zazwyczaj nie mają czasu zeby sie kłócić bo się spiesza na samolot.
Firma byla również opisana jakis czas temu w Gazecie Wyborczej wiec miejmy nadzieję ze ktoś zakonczy ten zlodziejczy proceder.

If I could give zero stars, I would.

I had the same terrible experience as many others at Szczecin Airport. I was unfairly charged for damage to the car that I wasn't even aware of. This company seems to take advantage of customers by failing to take any photos at the time of rental or return, leaving renters without any proof or protection.

It feels like they have a standard charge for damages—regardless of how minor or even questionable they are. I plan to challenge this charge and sincerely hope that some kind of accountability comes from it.

The head office has been completely unhelpful. The company's representative, Marcin Hyla, has been unreachable by both phone and email—raising serious concerns about the legitimacy and professionalism of the operation.

Frankly, this company and its representatives should not be allowed to operate at the airport.

Terrible experience. Total con artists. Won’t be renting from this company again. Staying with the reputable companies.

Warning: Carwiz is a dishonest rental company – double charges and false damage claims

Avoid renting from Carwiz at all costs. I was charged twice for car cleaning – even though I had already paid at pickup (I have proof from my bank), they charged me again upon return, falsely claiming I had not paid.

Worse, I was charged £697 for damages that were already present when I picked up the car. I immediately called the company when I saw the scratches and was told "it's all in the report". Despite this, they later claimed I caused the damage.

Carwiz ignores complaints, dismisses payment evidence, and treats customers dishonestly. In my view, they rely on scamming unsuspecting renters.
