Not value for money!
Stayed at Heythrop Park. Was a very expensive two night stay and I’m afraid it wasn’t worth it! Food was average, drinks extortionate, wanted £20 to reserve seats for entertainment because it wasn’t big enough to accommodate all the guests. Eventually they had to put on two shows but they were curtailed so you seen a shorter performance! The place was also very tired and grubby in places and the service was generally awful!!
Warners- You should be ashamed!
Took new friends to Littlecote House 26th-28th August. Paid for two historic rooms. When we arrived we took friend to their room only to find it was unmade and a complete mess. Reception call housekeeping and they apologise and offer a replacement room which was basic so they suggested we go to bar for a drink why they cleaned original room. Hour later a call to say room ready but had to wait further 2 hours because of products used! Asked to speak with manager who called about hour later. Explained only there for 2 days and now losing 3 hours. He apologised and offered £40. I stated that I didn't think that reasonable so would complain when got home. Manager threatened to remove the £40 if I was going to complain further! Said we could go home and have refund but I pointed out I could no longer drive as had been in bar at their suggestion! Got to rooms to find letter under door stating that meals would be served because some guests suffering gastric problems. Why was none of this mentioned at check-in and when I spoke with manager? This was especially important when two of the party have serious health conditions. Go to dinner and during meal another guest near us projectile vomited in front of us so dinner ruined and had to be moved. During course of next day it becomes obvious that the gastric issues were more serious and staff started telling us in confidence that it was a major problem because 350 guests that started on the Monday had reduced to 150 by the Thursday! They said that the hotel wasn't closed because senior management wouldn't allow it! Still no major communication. Check out on Friday morning and reception staff calling guests who were due to be there over the weekend that their break had been cancelled because they were closing for 3 days to do deep clean. On our return home 2 of our party were ill with the sickness/diarrhea bug.
Made complaint to Warners and they continually hid behind fact that they took advice from the local health authority and did everything necessary. They denied that they closed for 3 days, instead made sure no cross-over of guests on the Friday and so sent everyone home in the morning and delayed arrival of new guests on the Friday by 2 hours to allow for the extra cleaning - how does a whole resort get a deep clean within an extra two hours? Best they would offer was a voucher for our ruined evening meal on the first night. As usual it was only a voucher so no real cost to Warners and requires us to use their services again if we want to claim it! Pointed out failures in their supposed controls as menus still passed between guests and staff without cleaning in between. Pointed out failures in their communication but they just weren't interested!
Am a premium member but have seen gradual reduction in service and quality in last 2 years so won't be using them for future breaks after this sorry episode. Would give zero stars if trustpilot allowed it.
We turn up at warners for our weekend…
We turn up at warners for our weekend away to be told they had an outbreak gastro. We walked through hotel no signs to avoid going in All we got back was our money.
Nothing for inconvenience or petrol. Warners are heartless won’t go again. All they want is your money
DISASTROUS WARNER BREAK
DISASTROUS WARNER BREAK
Booked a 3 night Littlecote House for 70th birthday celebration in upgraded room with garden access..
Night before we were due to leave Warner cancelled due to a norovirus outbreak (that they had known about for at least 4 days).
So why did they wait until last minute to tell us?
Warner had no plan or option in place and left us to source our own accommodation elsewhere (or cancel - which we couldn’t do as it was a special celebration).
Littlecote House was chose specifically to enable meeting our grandkids from London for the birthday celebration
No other 3 night suitable locations were available.
Reluctantly chose 2 night at Studley Castle - no upgraded room with garden access available and Studley management showed no interest (except for receptionist Linda who tried her best)
This was our first Warner holiday - not impressed.
Awaiting a response from Warner.
In short: special 70th birthday celebration a disaster and unable to meet grandkids from London because of Warner late notification.
UNSYMPATHETIC APPROACH
Had booked a 4 night break back on 02 Mar 2026 for a combined double celebration, my 67 b/day & our 43rd wedding anniversary on that very date. I used some TESCO vouchers to help cover the deposit cost of £80. Unfortunately, I had my cancer operation on 14 Feb 2026 (removal of my left kidney) & was very unwell after the operation, so unable to attend our selected break. I have tried in vain to recover the deposit, NO LUCK at all, so I have advised Warner Leisure that they have now lost a valued customer due to their 'unsympathetic' approach to any guest who has a valid compassionate reason for being unable to attend.
Shocking Customer Service
Shocking Customer Service I have been trying to get hold of Warner Hotels to change my booking for 2 days and all I get is awful on hold music. Today it was 17 minutes before I gave up, I seriously wish I had never made the booking.
A lucky escape as we nearly booked with Warners
I am generally a thanker and a praiser but the recent very cold, inflexible and heartless treatment by Warners customer service to relatives of ours has forced me to shift the other way. We and several friends were going to book a Warners break but thank goodness we found out in time. Having heard the how our devastated relatives have been treated there is absolutely no way that we will use Warners now or ever again. Glossy ads do not make a business it is how they treat customers in a crisis.
Staying at sinah warren.
Staying at sinah warren.
The chalet is filthy and grubby . Dirty carpets, ground in grime and rusty fixtures and fittings. Dirty pillows and terrible broken mattress.
Complained to reception, no spare rooms nothing they can do. So had the room recleaned and a second shoddy mattress given.
Disgusted. I wish I could show the photos here. Will havevto share them elsewhere
We booked on line and subsequently paid…
We booked on line and subsequently paid on line - all good no no no no, We then received an email informing us that we needed to book our preferred time to have breakfast and evening meal, the time for breakfast was mid morning and the dinning room had no vacancy although we were welcome to use the carvery ,( if I wanted a carvery I would go to a TOBY INN) This occasion was our 54th wedding anniversary. Finally got a full refund but needed to use contractual law of non fulfilment of contract. Evidently customer services don't know the individual hotels dinning capacity so you pay upfront but are not aware that you wont get the full deal, Warner will not get this customer ever. Buyer beware , 'caveat emptor' oh and Customer services said 'you should have rung the hotel first'!!! what!!! you are central customer services you are there to advise on availability.
Very poor website
Very poor website, the live prices do not match their website!! When you try to book online any discounts are not added, when we telephoned Warners directly and explained the issue with the website, they were very unprofessional, they were very unhelpful!!! They really should honour an advertised price, this is clearly misleading the public, avoid being ripped off !!!
Bad compensation
I visited Bodelwyddan castle for an extra long weekend at the beginning of July specifically to see Russell Watson who was the headline act on the Saturday night.
Unfortunately he was taken ill just before he was due to go on stage. The staff were full of apologies and put one of their shows on and dragged a local singer in. She was okay .
We were told we would receive a letter overnight.
We did but it was only to apologise again and saying we would have an email on Monday.
Strangely it didn’t arrive until the Monday afternoon when most people had gone home.
I stayed on as it was a long journey until the Wednesday. Another couple did the same.
We were all very disgusted as the company offered us £75 compensation each not in money but in a voucher to use against another booking!
We felt £75 was derisory the weekend cost £200 more than a normal stay without a special celebrity.
We cannot get any more response from them despite many complaints and phone calls. We had noticed lots of cost cutting regarding food etc like many others.
But the way we have been treated over this is the end for us. If we had booked to see Russell Watson in a theatre or arena and he was take ill last minute we would have received a full monetary compensation.
We will not visit again and definitely not recommend Warner’s again.
Lakeside - My husband has incurable cancer and we have a small request but can’t get a response from them by post, email or phone. May not be able to go on Monday now.
My husband has incurable cancer and we have a reasonable request - two posted letters, 2 emails, many unanswered calls to Lakeside reception and absolutely NO response from anyone. We are due to go Monday and are now wondering if we can. A very uncaring team at Lakeside - or totally inefficient. Such a shame as we love it there, or did.
Littlecote House Hotel
Had a fabulous cream tea with fabulous friends at Littlecote House Hotel. All the staff were attentive and the food was great. Special thanks to Piotr & Karen who made it feel special. We carried on with our day outside in the sunshine. The bar staff were also brilliant.
Fun, friendly breaks for the elderly but standards slipping
We enjoy the music, dancing and meeting people, but cost-cutting measures have tarnished recent stays. Maintenance and cleaning has gone downhill. Food is hit and miss. They are in lovely locations. Warners spend millions on advertising, but need to up their game. Would only recommend for over 60's. Look to see what type of music is provided.
STAINED PILLOWS
Unfortunately our recent stay at Thoresby Hall was not good - on departure day I decided to strip the bed covers before checking out and found two very badly stained pillows without pillow protectors on them.
This was such a huge disappointment after having high expectations of our first stay at a ‘reserve’ hotel and sad to say we left feeling deflated rather than refreshed - the thought that we had slept on these for two nights was quite nauseating and very unhygienic
Warner Hotels should not show glam tv ads…
Warner Hotels should not show glam tv adverts anymore. It's obvious they have had a cost management company in to cost savings measures. And probably cost them more than the misery disappointment caused to the customers.
It's now gone cheap with little waiting service. You get your own tea and coffee from a coffee machine. You get your own breakfasts. And you get your own dinner. Some of the outdoor sports are now £10 . On Lounge quizes you now get a discount on 2 drinks if you win. And it's the only prize. The rooms are now cleaned with new towels once every 2 days. The snooker tables have been reclothed with the cheapest available. And the singer in residence has been singing the same songs in sequence and moves for the last 5 years. It's almost hilarious in Cheap Cut Corners to save money!
Housekeeping staff were helpful - admin & office staff always said computer says no!!
A relaxed holiday in a luxury hotel was what we expected. One guest is a wheelchair user, the other uses a walker within the hotel and a mobility scooter outdoors. The hotel is marketed as accessible - our experience was that it is not. Our holiday was a nightmare, a catalogue of disasters which was made far worse due to poor customer service by Reception staff.
Porters were not available when we arrived to assist with luggage.
A car was parked in our designated parking space which was near to our room. We were told to tell Reception staff to put a note on it and ask them to park elsewhere - the receptionist said she did not know how to do this!
The food was good - but buffet service at breakfast and the main course for an evening meal is difficult for guests with mobility issues. Maintaining my balance is a challenge without the added complication of carrying plates,
No back bacon is served at breakfast, only undercooked very fatty streaky bacon. Several guests expressed dissatisfaction about this.
Access to the fire pit in the walled garden was dangerous for wheelchair and mobility scooter users. There was an open-air theatre production there and the theatre company noticed the problems we experienced getting stuck in the gravel and needing assistance to move along. They were keen for it to be accessible to everyone but the terrain made it unsuitable for disabled guests.
During the interval, I left to go to the toilet. My mobility scooter toppled between the grass and pathway so I fell with the scooter falling on top of me. I was not badly hurt but very shaken and later suffered as a result of this accident.
We missed the performance by Sioned Terry that evening because she was not due to sing until after 10.00pm. By this time, my joints were too painful for me to sit comfortably and my husband was very tired.
On return to our room, I started to vomit violently. I don't think my sudden illness was related to the food consumed but more likely to be the result of shock and stress due to the accidental fall. I tried to call Reception twice between midnight and 1.00am but no one answered. There was no option to leave a message and all I could hear was music on the phone line.
I reported this to the duty manager in the morning. His response was that I should have had an answer as there was someone working. When I reported that I had suffered diarrhoea and vomiting, he said he would ensure that housekeeping staff were aware and would give our room an extra clean before other guests arrived as we were departing that day. He did not apologise or show compassion or sympathy.
It was an expensive holiday and a horrible experience due to poor customer service displayed by some members of staff.
Warning before you book your Warner…
Warning before you book your Warner holiday. You cannot book your meal times until you have paid your deposit on your holiday. We booked at the last moment and the only breakfast sitting time was 09:00 am well I am diabetic and I need something to eat before 09:00 am. If we had known this before booking we would have not booked. Have tried to change breakfast time but unfortunately fell on someone who doesn’t care. It will be my last trip to warners.
Everything was great except for 1 thing
Everything was great except for 1 thing. The bathroom. The toilet seat was loose and so too the toilet roll holder. Petty, you may think, but they were told to the cleaning staff on arrival, but nothing was done. Petty, yes but I didn't want to pick the toilet paper roll off the floor every time I used it. That was assuming i didn't fall off the loose seat and land on the floor with the toilet paper
Bembridge - Isle of wight
This was the worst experience of Warner's I've ever had (and I've been to a few), generally all good. I had upgraded as a special treat to my husband.
The cleanliness and housekeeping was absolutely disgusting. The maintenance of the room was terrible. I initially contacted customer care by phone who didn't seem interested. I then was cut off and unfortunately was unable to call back even though the phone continuously rang. There was no return call even though they had repeated my contact number to me. I emailed through again as I discussed with my husband and after a few days received a phone call. Apologising for the condition of our room and that things I had listed and the photos I had attached were, which they felt were unacceptable. I was immediately offered a £60 voucher off my next visit to any Warner's hotel. (This was already an option offered to everyone had we booked another break before we left this one) So in my opinion this was not a good will gesture.
Without listing numerous attempts to request an escalation of my complaint as there were many details not looked at - I had a return email saying it had been escalated and there was nothing more to be done and they would have no more correspondence with me. There was no further correspondence re any one else I could approach, there has also been no written apology as they said they would like to do or even a voucher (which I would not use on principle)
I have never been someone to complain but feel so incensed by this treatment and I do not want anyone else to suffer the same treatment which totally spoilt a birthday break.
