Horrible customer service, my order was lost and had to call so many times to get my refund back. It’s just ridiculous!
Dishonest
Everything about this company that I experienced from the business side has been dishonest. From the credit card account I opened 15 years ago(and closed right away because of mishandling of my on time payments) All the way to my current experience of trying to return items. It is the most frustrating experience because their website does not keep track of orders and makes it incredibly difficult to find the return tab and once you find it, and put in a tiny tiny 13 digit order number, it is not recognized. Then after hours of searching for a needle in a haystack, once they receive returns, they do not credit fully for items I sent. They are missing items I know I sent. I am done with Talbots. Also, the old ladies are cranky when you go into the store and try to return. They don't like that.
Closed my account due to poor business practices.
I have been a longtime customer of Talbot's, but I just closed my account. I ordered a pair of pants and was sent two pairs in two separate shipments. I returned the pants in the correct return window of time. I received an email acknowledging the receipt of the return. It never showed up on my invoices. In the meantime I had to pay late payment fees because I thought that the return would result in a zero balance. I made three calls and the customer service reps gave me a different story each time, and one hung up on me. In the end I was told that since it was over 90 days since the return they couldn't issue me a refund or credit. Terrible customer service. They were not helpful, and I don't think they have any power to do anything. I was also told me that a manager would call me about this and that never happened. Really a shame that a company that represents itself as a classic has shoddy customer service. I will not do business with them again.
Beware of Talbots credit card.
I enjoy shopping at Talbots. I have purchased several items over the last year. Unfortunately, I don't trust the bank that handles their credit card. Their credit card is the most unfriendly and difficult company I have ever dealt with. I missed a bill because I didnt see it in my email. I requested a paper statement and was told it would cost 2.99 every month,regardless if there was balance or not. Think twice before getting their card.
Shop anywhere but Talbots
I have been shopping Talbots for years, the stores & the website. Not a big clotheshorse, but when I want something nice & that will last Talbots was my go to. Until the last year or so.
Fit is often very uneven. Material has gone down significantly in quality. Talbots has done away with their Women’s Plus line, (about 1/2 the women over 50.)
I checked, it’s owned by a Private Equity Company who will run it into the ground & then declare bankruptcy. They could care less about quality. Making a return is a total nightmare. Shop anywhere else!
A new jean wardrobe
Visited store 1086 in North Wales PA over several days with the goal of purchasing several pairs of jeans. Thrilled with so many options, styles and colors and especially the lighter weight for the season. I was quite pleased to receive the generous assistance of Kelly in the dressing rooms and Christine. When it came time to check out, Christine was only too eager to assist. I not only received the promotion offered for purchasing pants, I also had certificate rewards and my birthday discount, wow! I left the store a happy person and a new jean wardrobe!
Who would have thought that it was necessary to return and exchange all items for a smaller size. It was Christine Harris, again that smiled and was eager to locate all initial purchased jeans in a size smaller! Always smiling, eager to ensure I purchased exactly what I wished and if the store didn’t have the size, Christine ordered through the catalog! I have all six pairs of jeans and am extremely happy with my purchase. Thank you Christine and Kelly for your professionalism, kindness and style. Will visit again soon! MTB
Worse than 1 star
Worse than 1. Ordered 2 items from the site googled as Canadian but was charged in $US but didn't show as such. Shipped by UPS who overcharged me customs fees by double!😡
When I tried on the blouse worth $100 CDN you could see my nude colored bra through it and Talbot's sent me the black duster instead of the tan that was ordered. Never again and have advised my fashion stylist of this so she will not recommend Talbot's to her customers.
It’s sad how bad the customer service…
It’s sad how bad the customer service (via phone) has become in the last 6 months. I love their styles, and the fit of their clothes, so I keep going back but then I am again denied a requested price adjustment (within the 14 day window and on either full price or a lesser percentage off…not on final sales or items bought w a discount code as the online policy states) and wonder why I keep going back?
Tonight while requesting a price adjustment, the customer service rep (“Jenny”) put me hold with no notice about 1.5 mins into the call…finally hanging up on me 7+ mins later. I had to call back to be declined the adjustment. They have been accommodating about price adjustments (within their guidelines of course) in the past…but now it’s rare, and I continue to ask if this is a new policy? No, I am always told. I would absolutely understand if it was a policy change, but it seems to arbitrarily depend on the customer service rep. who handles the call. I’ve yet to make sense of how the decisions are made in the past 6 months. Tonight I was told sometimes the rep decides to do it, sometimes not.
I’ve been shopping more from J. McLaughlin, better quality, and because of that, I don’t mind paying more there, but it’s still not Talbots. I’ve been shopping at Talbots since 1992 (as a college student believe it or not) so, like the song says, it’s a hard habit to break, but they continue to make it a little more likely w each interaction.

If I could give Talbots a 0 star review I would. After almost 20 years of buying thousands of dollars of Talbots clothing, they closed my card for inactivity days prior to me trying to make a purchase. I attempted to reach out to their customer service which was a nightmare only to finally be told I would have to reapply for another credit card. Good riddance Talbots! You will be the next store to close their doors due to your lack of quality customer service to your dedicated customers.

It has gone downhill fast! I have been shopping in person and online at Talbots for about 15 years and the quality has indeed dwindled.
Now, the online service is abominable! The pants I ordered online arrived not only in the wrong size but also in a different style!
This is the end of my shopping adventure with Talbot. Shame.
Your order shipped!!! BS …
If you get an email saying "your order has shipped" don't get too excited. Just because they create a shipping label doesn't mean your item is on its way. It's been 6 days for me and UPS still hadn't received the package and no delivery date in sight. Tried calling too 2 calls and a total of 1.25 hours on hold to find out that is how they do things and that the items I ordered on the 5th will likely arrive on or after the 20th. Never again. What the heck is going on with Talbots!?
Terrible
Terrible. Purchased three items, received then revoked three different savings percent off, plus $50 credit for spending $200. Also paid for expedited 2-3 day shipping. That was seven days ago and still waiting for items.
Called customer service three times (every other day) looking for items — told different stories each time, including more credit toward purchase for inconvenience. My credit card was charged a week ago and no credits have been received.
Will not ever shop Talbots online again.

If I could give 0 stars I would. I send an extra 18.95 to ship my order immediately and after a week it still hasn’t shipped and I am out $127 because I won’t be at this address after Sat. Moving. Customer service was useless. I will never buy another item from them, done.

I ordered 3 items of clothing - I can’t tell you how disillusioned I was with the quality of all 3 items. The return process was very difficult and because I was in Canada I couldn’t get a return label and had to pay shipping to return. I won’t ever order from this company again. Such a disappointment

Unbelievable - Talbots charges the same shipping for shipping it to their store. What an unethical practice.
Talbots Online Shopping Nightmare …
I ordered four items from their online website and paid for them in one credit card transaction, however I regretted it three days later when my credit card was hacked. I contacted them right away to advise them four additional transactions were placed on my credit card that day. They told me it wasn’t their doing but when I had a new replacement credit card activated two of those fraudulent transactions were transferred to my new credit card. I have been fighting with my credit card company to reverse these charges and ended up having to lock my new credit card to prevent any further transactions from Talbots.

After emailing Talbots they got back to me today thanking me for bringing this situation to their attention. They agreed that there was only one transaction made by me and had the additional transactions on my credit card marked as fraudulent. Their explanation was that the transactions were placed on my credit card every time each item was individually delivered. Why the entire order was not delivered on one day is beyond me. Now I am having to pay custom charges each time an item is delivered, costing me an additional $22.00 each time. I brought this to Talbots attention but they have yet to offer an explanation.

Always appreciated that Talbots shows their clothes on models who are not sizes 2 and 4. Love the spring additions but the quality has decreased a bit over the years. Would love to see the original fabrics return.

Talbots clothing is going down the rabbit hole just like of Cold Water Creek did. My mom and I would run to Talbots and we bought load of items. It was actually a ritual for us to go together and buy out the store. Not any more....hideous colors, (what women would wear hunter green in anything?!) Last year's section wasn't any better either. Every year, I used to buy T by Talbots, leggings and pullovers, not any more. Horrible, horrible, horrible...

Like a lot of retail outlets recently, the selection and sometimes the quality is not as good as it was just five years ago. I got lucky to find two pairs of jeans that came in their curvy size that actually fit. Everywhere else I was trying to find jeans the waists were always too big. It used to be a place where I could count on finding something that would fit right. Now not so much. I keep getting these coupons that I let expire because they just don't have anything I want. The one thing I found this last time had weird pockets and got terrible reviews so I didn't order it.
Great Experience
I needed a casual outfit for a community dinner event.
When I entered, Caitlyn welcomed me and asked what I was looking for.
She understood my needs and took her time to provide options which suited my request.
After spending an hour discussing and considering options, the outfit I chose was perfect for the occasion. I received many compliments.
