Buyer beware
I like J Jill products, until now. Ordered two different types of tops and both very boxy. Unbeknownst to me, they no longer have a brick-and-mortar store open in my city. So even though they have it listed as open and it’s on the other side of town, it was not! That’s how I found out. So I made that trip for nothing. Do I have to even mention the price of gas right now?! Let alone the time that it took because it’s way across town.
Then I go to initiate my return and not only will I lose out on the shipping that I paid to get it here but now I have to pay another $9 to ship it back. They should’ve said something about this upfront. Maybe that’s why a huge percentage of their brick and mortars are closing. Never will I ever shop J Jill again!!!
Totally done with Jjill
I’ve been shopping at Jjill for all my clothes for the last 20+ years and they have definitely had a change in who designs and picks out their clothes. The last 6 months the clothes no longer fit women like me (older) and it sure feels like Jjill no longer cares about my business. Everything is shorter tops, ugly plain dresses, no tunics, no leggings….its like wanting to cater to a younger crowd and ignore your client base. What is ironic is everyone shopping in the store today was 50 or older and I bet like me, nothing looks attractive to them or on them. Everything year my husband for my birthday and Christmas buys me a Jjill gift card. I’ve told him not to buy any more going forward as Jjill has lost me and unless they start respecting who is spending their hard earned money, I won’t be back. They are losing a customers!!

What has happened to J Jill? This year's spring collection is terrible. How many dresses can you wear. And why are all the jeans and trousers high waist cut? Short waisted women can not wear them. And what happened to the longer length tops? Everything is short!!
I believe you have clothing only for thin, flat chested and long waisted women!
I have been a regular customer for over 20 years but, when I use the gift card I unfortunately received, I won't be anymore. You have forgotten about your customer base.

She then proceeds to email me, threatening to send me to collections when I never even received a bill. Just straight to threatening. She needs counseling way more than I do & definitely more continuing Ed. She's not competent.

About 85% of my clothes are from j.Jill. They fit well and wash well. Customer service is terrific online and in store. I am 68 and I have been wearing their clothes for more than 25 years. The clothes are flattering and appropriate for business or casual wear.
New CEO ruining J Jill

Belly button no no.
Jjill seems to be trying to push more into the younger styles but it's not working. The belly button shirts do not fit the overall style of clothing and mature women do not wear belly button shirts all the time, if ever. My wardrobe used to be filled with jjill and I'd buy almost all the new tops. I haven't bought their tops in about a year because they are all too short. Bring back some 28" and 29" lengths!
Aggressive billing practices
Long time customer but their billing has changed. My last purchase from JJill was early January 2026. I couldn’t figure out why in early March I received a bill for $62. Called them and they said it was not for products but interest and late charges. Still made no sense as I pay online and schedule the payment for the day it is due. I then saw some fine print that the payment may take a couple days to settle. So you need to schedule your payment not for the due date but at least a couple days prior. This feels very tricky and aggressive to me, as a due date is a due date correct? They are under new financial management. The customer service rep wouldn’t work with me as she said they were following their billing practices. She admitted I have paid “like clockwork.” I have never paid late but they are evidently charging me for their own processing time now? Including a month’s interest on a finance charge I didn’t know I had. I’m so done. They have lost a credit card customer since 2009.
I will never shop at JJill again!
Omg... I got a call from JJill.. they had no record of me taking my shirt months ago. Thank god, I still had the receipt. They still charged me late fees for two months and interest. They never sent me a bill in the mail or email. It has cause my credit rating to drop 100 points. 🤬 As of now, they are still charging me interest for the months. Grr.. I'm paying it now, but... My Account is closed!
Great styles for your core collection of clothing
I am a long-term online customer and have always appreciated the inclusivity of the styles. While I follow trends, I also appreciate that the styles can withstand the test of time. Somewhat traditional and always in style. The quality has always been good, although has decreased a little over the past couple years. I frequently take advantage of their sales. I've never had any issues returning items. My most recent order was shipped within one day.

I first shopped at J Jill in the late fall of 2025 while looking for a pair of flare jeans. That day the lady that helped me did a great job! I recently purchased another pair of jeans at the store and also a sweater online. My second in store experience was good, however the two ladies working were very busy checking out customers and helping them. Even though they were very busy they were not too busy to help me and give me their opinion about clothing I was trying on. I have not had a bad experience with J Jill at all!
Poor shipping experience, no communication on J Jill's part on every aspect of order, oversized apparel
I have yet to open my individual items. J Jill uses FedEX and I will never order online from them again. The package was left on my steps a few feet from the covered porch. As expected, my package is soaked! Also, J Jill never provided any updates or confirmation of the order, or delivery status. Very poor communication about a very expensive order. And now that I tried on each of 6 items, they are all going back. Every single one oversized, baggy and looked like night clothes. And the amount of time it took for me to shop online to find items with natural fibers was insurmountable. I'm no longer a customer.

Their website is atrocious. It takes you in circles and you get no results. I used to shop on-line many years ago and had no issues but now it’s a maze with no results. I’ll just order a catalog and order by item number and call it a day!

I was a loyal J Jill online shopper, but that has changed. They have recently reduced their 40% off sale prices to 30%. They have increased their $ limit to receive free shipping. The time from purchase to receiving the item has increased to an unsatisfactory amount of time. It was bad enough when everything started being delivered from USPS. But shipping combined with DHL to USPS is as painful as waiting for a slow moving kidney stone to pass. Now I will buy from Garnet Hill, Nordstrom Rack, or on sale from Eileen Fischer. So long!

I am fed up with the delivery of J Jill orders. They are ALWAYS significantly late. My current order that was to be here on the 14th is still sitting on the other coast for days now. Stop giving unrealistic delivery dates. J Jill has been providing excuses for years now (since COVID) and it has not changed. I stopped ordering through them for a year now, and made the mistake of going back to them. I do not have this issue with Talbots, Macy's, Nordstrom, Lands End or LL Bean. WHY J JILL? I will not order through you again, and when my delivery of 7 items finally arrives in what is expected to be at least another 7-10 days, I will return it all. Regards,

If I had read these reviews before I ordered a top online, I would not have ordered it. I already have a size Medium top from a real JJill store. So I ordered a size Medium online. It fit like a MuuMuu. I returned the top to the store in Fresno, California. Pleasant clerk. She mentioned that inconsistent sizing is a common complaint. I got a refund for the top but not for the $10 shipping. So--lesson learned, I will read reviews first, read Return policy first.
