Libby, Lucy, Mark & Luke at Hayfield Gardens, Toddington have been nothing short of amazing!

From the very beginning, Libby and Lucy have been so friendly, helpful and approachable. They’ve always taken the time to answer our questions, keep us updated and make what can be a stressful process feel so much easier. Nothing has ever felt like too much trouble, and they’ve genuinely gone above and beyond to make us feel looked after.

Mark and Luke have also been fantastic since we moved in. They’ve been working through our snags with such a positive attitude and so quickly and efficiently. It’s really reassuring to have such helpful and hardworking people on site who actually care about getting things right.

We’re so pleased with our new home and, although there will always be a few little things to sort when buying a new build, having such a great team behind us has made a huge difference.

A massive thank you to Libby, Lucy, Mark and Luke — you’ve all been brilliant and we really appreciate everything you’ve done for us!

Moved into a new-build Hayfield home 6 months ago and, after noticing a few issues, had an independent new-build defect survey carried out which highlighted a long list of problems.

Nearly 6 months on, there are still multiple outstanding issues despite most of them being reported around 5 months ago. Some are potentially dangerous, such as multiple sharp nails protruding through the garden fence, which isn't ideal when you have a young family using the garden. The garden gate handle also still doesn't work properly.

I've been told multiple times by Hayfield site workers that someone would be sent out to sort these issues "ASAP", but nothing happens. It genuinely feels like once you've moved in, they don't really care anymore. They tell you what you want to hear at the time and then you have to keep chasing.

They have slowly fixed various issues here and there, but having defects still outstanding after nearly 6 months is extremely frustrating.

The garden is another example. It was originally laid with virtually no preparation underneath, with large rocks and building debris left in the ground, resulting in an extremely uneven lawn which eventually died. It was eventually relaid, but in places the old turf wasn't even removed before the new turf was laid, and sections are already dying again.

I would really like to be able to recommend Hayfield, but the customer service has been very disappointing. I just want the remaining issues properly addressed and the property brought up to the standard you would expect from a new-build home.

Hayfield must have the most horrendous customer care of any development company in the UK. Not only was the process of purchasing our house a complete nightmare with constant delays and mistakes. Since moving in the process has been no better. Ammenities which were not connected correctly, incorrectly fitted driveway which needed digging up and refitting. It appears no topsoil was ever laid under our turf which has now all died back and is revealing the rubble and building waste below. We are having multiple issues with various parts of our home which are not being tended to with any thought or consideration of the challenges this is creating for us. I wonder if it is a purposeful tactic to not reply to emails, not return voicemails and send you on wild goose chases with external parties instead of resolving the problem at hand.

We are absolutely delighted with our new build home at Hayfield Gardens. From the quality of the build to the attention to detail, we have been very impressed with our new home and the overall experience.

A special mention must go to Mark, the Project Manager, who has been fantastic throughout the process. Mark has been professional, approachable, knowledgeable, and always willing to help. He kept us informed, answered our questions, and made sure everything was handled as smoothly as possible.

We are extremely happy with our new home and grateful to Mark and the whole team at Hayfield Gardens for helping make the experience such a positive one. We would happily recommend Hayfield Gardens to anyone considering a new build home.

I’m so happy with my new Home, the development is beautiful and I got more than I expected when I moved in.

The site manager Mark is very helpful and polite any time I have a question he’s more than happy to come round and answer it or for any advice.

I’ve also asked for some help and they’ve delivered it straight away without any question. Hayfield homes are fantastic.

Moved in 3 years ago to Hayfield Rise .
Initially really pleased .
3 years later not so thrilled - oven has broken , fridge is cheap and nasty , kitchen tap has broken.
Cheap and nasty kitchen appliances evident . Cooker hood installed wrongly .
Landscaping a lot to be desired.
We have been asking for dead trees to be replaced outside our property for 3 years now.
Looks a complete mess as you drive into the estate. Very different from when the houses were up for sale.
Children’s playground supposed to have been finished 2 years ago .
It remains Derelict - over grown flooding problem and never used. Looks like wasteland .
Once the sales team and builders go off site - beware !
We were so thrilled when we moved in ( despite a massive GDPR breech from a Hayfield member of staff when buying which we let go !) but the shine has worn off !
And had a massive mould problem too ( which was eventually sorted with industrial dehumidifiers) .
Lovely neighbours compensate but severely disappointed with the after care from Hayfield.
I think we have been extremely reasonable as never told the other residents about the mould ( which affected other houses) or the GDPR breech but have not been treated fairly
They promise the world when you buy but then don’t deliver once they have your money .
Other residents are still waiting g for repairs / replacements.
One resident had their washing machine given away to another house before they moved in !
Just be cautious. They may be a 5 star builder but the after care is awful .
Also don't go with the Solicitors Hayfield recommend. We were persuaded foolishly and regretted it hugely . Awful firm .

In response to your reply :-
1. I am aware that I need to contact Siemens . However, I would not expect these appliances to go wrong after 3 years so maybe Hayfield need to consider alternative better quality products.
2. In terms of landscaping this is not an issue that has arisen since the hot dry weather . We have been asking for replacements for dead trees since Oct 2023 . The development looks shabby and unkempt . This is not a new problem and I believe all residents have continuously raised this over the past year not just since the summer . I think most Hayfield residents patience has been exhausted by the state of the landscaping / the park which has been unusable since it was built.
3. With hindsight we should have perused the serious GDPR issue as I think we were bulldozed into letting this go and bullied into accepting this without any resolution that was of benefit to us as the house buyer.
4. The mould issue caused considerable distress as we had to move out of our house for 2 weeks and have industrial dehumidifiers in . The other houses affected were empty .
I am disappointed with the aftercare .
And expected better from all the Hayfield propaganda .

Hayfield journey started a year ago, began by looking at a neighbouring
development site as well as Hayfield, there was a clear difference in Spec and overall quality in favour of Hayfield.
Claire followed by Laura and Libby were absolute stars throughout, I can’t praise them highly enough, professional, polite throughout and nothing was too much trouble.
When Laura left the company Libby was fantastic in guiding us through the process along with Mark the site manager.
TBH once we moved in we did have a few more snags to contend with than we expected, Mark told us not to worry and that they would all get rectified, I was initially sceptical but he was true to his word and has been a legend in getting them all sorted, we have a couple left but I have no doubt these will get completed.
One area of slight disappointment has been the slight lack of cleaning up from trades people during the build, it could have been bettter, but again to the credit of Mark and his trades teams these have been sorted and the areas of concern now look as they should, cheers to all those involved.
I would recommend Hayfield homes as the Spec is fantastic and the team also.
If I had written this review a couple of weeks ago it would have been scored as a 4 star, but Mark, Libby and the other teams have pulled it out the bag, hence the 5 stars

Over the moon

A new build journey that started more then two years ago. It has been stressful at times but it's been worth the wait!

Libby (sales) and Mark (site manager) have been great, no question too silly and nothing too much trouble. Having finally completed last week it's everything I had hoped for and more.

Harriet was also so helpful, recognising the urgency for me to be able to complete in July. A big thank you as well to the various contractors who worked in the heatwave to make sure timelines didn't slip!

Hayfield build an excellent house, you really can tell the difference in the finish and the quality, along with the support and care from all the team.

We are so impressed that we will be looking at another upcoming Hayfield development close by for a family member.

Hayfield Homes have left the development in a poor state and consistently failed to address ongoing issues. They excavated a hole at the road entrance, blocking the pavement and causing damage that has now spread across the road. Despite repeated reports over more than two years, the customer care team either ignores correspondence or provides misleading responses. Based on this experience, I would strongly advise others to avoid.

Laura libby and mark made our house buying experience a dream . They went above and beyond to make sure we were happy and they couldn’t have offered more support if they tried . Not only do they offer support before the move but the after support is next to none

We began our new home journey with Claire from the sales team at Hayfield Homes, and from the very start she was incredibly helpful, knowledgeable, and supportive after we discovered the Hayfield Gardens development in Toddington. Although we were sad to see her move on to another site, she left us in the very capable hands of Laura and Libby, who continued to guide us brilliantly.

Like many home-buying experiences, our journey had its stressful moments, and a few challenges continued after we moved in. However, we would like to say a big thank you to Hayfield Homes, and especially to Claire, Laura, Libby, Shaun, and Mark for their support in getting us settled and for working hard to resolve those early issues. Their dedication has made a real difference and ensured we are now very happy in our new home.

We absolutely love the house—the quality, design, and finishing touches are excellent not to mention how energy efficient it is with underfloor heating, heat pump and solar panels. While moving in quickly meant we had a few snagging items, Mark has been fantastic throughout. He has been attentive, proactive, and reassuring—taking the time to log everything, arrange the necessary trades, and consistently check that we’re happy. His approach has truly made us feel listened to and well looked after.

We’d also like to give a special mention to Mark the electrician, WA Carpentry for their help and professionalism, and lastly Margaret at Kitchen Contracts Ltd for her help, design and supply of additional cupboards.

Overall, it's been a positive experience we are delighted that we chose a Hayfield home. The build quality is excellent, and with the support we’ve received, we’re very pleased to now be settled in our new home.
