Love it!

Beautiful Garment

My beautiful swing duffle coat has just arrived and I couldn’t be happier. I was unsure about the sizing and the measurement chart was confusing so I called the company. I spoke with a very helpful member of the team called Abby. She took my measurements over the phone and advised me on the correct size to order. She was spot on. The coat fits like it was made to measure, the finish is exceptional and the wool is soft and expensive to the touch. Delivery was fast and tracked and perfectly packaged. A great British reliable company.

Zero Communication

Returned the coat due to defects, never got a reply on a number of mails. Zero communication. Did not reimburse the postage fees of 26 Euros ! Stay away !

Excellent submariner, bad fisherman jumper

Loved the grey submariner. Perfect submariner. 5 gauge knit and dense enough to be warm.

However the fisherman jumper is too loosely knit to be warm even though it is heavy. Mine got caught on the door latch and 1 stitch came off. Very disappointed for £140. Knitwear should always list the gauge knit and tension on the website.

4 to 3 stars because they delete negative product reviews

No after-purchase support

The item arrived quickly and packaged well, but the returns process has been hell and left me short £200

I've contacted gloverall customer care multiple times to see if there's anything they can do and not even got a response.

Pretty website, nice coats, just don't seem to have the processes in place to back it all up.

I ordered & paid in full for a coat…

I ordered & paid in full for a coat which on the website noted it would ship early Dec. (2025), after inquiring several days later about tracking info, I was told it was a pre-order. This was actually not the case. I would NEVER had ordered as a Christmas gift!
Since then I have rec’d emails telling me later & later dates for delivery with nothing specific. I still want the coat, as it is a gift. This has been a terrible customer service experience with no real attempt at making it right. I was also given a “free” gift for making a large purchase. One would think they’d offer to send that in the meantime so I’d have something to give, but no, nothing except a January 2026 possible delivery.
Just not a pleasant experience.

Order placed but not dispatched

Placed an order over 3 weeks ago for an “in stock” Shelley jacket and still no coat or refund. Phone line never answered. Emails not responded to. Finally had 1 response after 2 weeks of contacting/chasing them and it was to say the item was out of stock. Still waiting on a response to my reply regarding the refund/coat.

1. Why does it take 2 weeks of me chasing for them to say it’s out of stock?

2. Why does the website show the item in stock (both on the day they emailed and even today 3 weeks later).

If it genuinely was out of stock then surely a refund would have been issued immediately after the order was placed 3 weeks ago.

Seems suspicious that the item is still in stock for people to buy, but not able to be dispatched, and refunds unable to be applied promptly.

Seit der Bestellbestätigung und Abbuchung des Betrags am 01.12. hat sich nichts weiter getan. Auf meine schriftliche Anfrage vom 07.12. habe ich auch noch keine Antwort erhalten.
Für solche 0-Reaktivität würde ich am liebsten auch nur 0 Sterne vergeben. Wenn nicht das, was in den Versandrichtlinien angegeben wird, eingehalten werden kann, gehört es einfach dazu den Kunden zu informieren.
Update nach einem weiteren Monat:
Die Bestellung wurde am 17.12.2025 versendet und kam am 20.12.2025 an.
Beide Dufflecoats sind sehr gut verarbeitet. Heute kam dann auch endlich die Rückzahlungsbestätigung für die Retoure des größeren der beiden.
Fazit: sehr wertiges Produkt; jedoch langwierige Lieferung und Retoure, und das wiederum schlecht bis gar nicht kommuniziert.

SIZE MATTERS!!

I spent several days searching online for a scarf that was longer than the standard size. I had two clear requirements:

Over 200 cm in length

100% wool

I finally found what I was looking for at Gloverall. Unfortunately, the price was quite high—especially with EU shipping and the very high freight costs. Still, as the saying goes: when you really want something, you go for it.

A few days later, the parcel arrived, and at first, I was genuinely very pleased. The scarf is beautiful. However, when I unfolded it and measured it, my disappointment set in. The scarf is listed as 215 cm, but in reality, it measures only 208 cm, and that is including the fringes.

So my question is simple: where are the missing 7 cm?

I appreciate that you may not explicitly say “size matters,” but I do believe that if a product is marketed as “oversized,” it should actually differ meaningfully from standard sizes. This one does not.

I have updated my review from 3 to 2 stars, as customer service apparently did not take the time to respond to my email.

I'm not desperately unhappy but having…

I'm not desperately unhappy but having ordered and paid for 2 duffle jackets on the 26th Nov; knowing they wouldn't be dispatched until December, I can't help but wonder when. Tomorrow is the latest deadline on their email response capability. Suspect, I thought because I'd attached quality brand values to them, they'd be better at communicating. Wish you could just pick up the phone and speak to someone.

Thank you for your review. Please accept our most sincere apologies for your poor experience and our failure to completely fulfil your order, but after reviewing your conversation with our customer service, it seems all your emails were responded to, the missing item addressed and the matter resolved.

You sent the first email on November 27th which was replied to the following morning on the 28th. You replied the same day and sent follow-ups on the 29th, December 1st, 2nd, 6th and 9th. We replied on the 9th. We understand that it is frustrating not to get an immediate response, but at the end of November and through December into January we are at our busiest so customer service are not always able to respond to emails as quickly as normal so the 3 - 5 working day window that we typically ask for is extended during that time. It took 7 working days to reply which isn't ideal but not beyond the extended window.

You sent a reply the same day and another on the 12th. We replied on the 12th which resolved the matter because the remaining item which we didn't have the stock for was cancelled and refunded and you were given a discount code as an apology.

Please dont buy from this company save…

Please dont buy from this company save your money the products are not what theyre advertised as being. Its very expensive to send things back youll have to cover this. The quality of their coats is on a very slippery slope down hill and extremely poor quality. Its heart breaking to be ripped off by this company when no one can least afford it these days.

Fantastic Product

The cost is heavy however that is the idea as it is made of wool. If you are looking for a lightweight coat this is not for you

I ordered a medium which is my usual coat size and once done it up fits perfectly

This is a case of you get what you pay for with the added bonus of being British made supporting British industry

I am after a peacoat and will definitely purchase via Gloverall hopefully they will have a sale soon

quality control issues/costly resolution

Not sure if it is poor costumer service, bad quality control or both, either way, I can not recommend shopping with Gloverall if you are in the US.
In August they shipped me a sweater with many obvious pulls, random loose threads, and an error in knitting. Not what you expect at the price point that they are asking. It was not easy or quick handling a return/exchange, but eventually they sent information to cover the cost of the return (which for us, would have been nearly the cost of the garment). After another few weeks, without any communication, they shipped us a new garment, which is now being held in customs.
It was initially purchased before customs rules changed.
Long story short, it has been almost 2 months since I ordered a sweater for my husband's birthday, additional cost have been incurred, and we still don't know if the sweater will be of better quality when it arrives.
Had they just sent us a sweater in good condition, all of this could have been avoided.
While it is not the first time we have had trouble ordering from Gloverall, it unfortunately will be the last, which is too bad, because we really love their coats.

Update--received the replacement sweater. was packaged much more professionally AND the quality was significantly improved. Wish this same care would have been taken when they first shipped the item...

Thank you for your review. We apologise for initially sending a faulty item, our QC do their best to catch any faults to ensure we only send the best to our customers. We take pride in our garments, so it is very important that we ensure everything is up to standard but unfortunately sometimes faults do slip through, either because they were simply missed or because they were too small or wasn't visible when they were being checked and unravelled after being shipped.

Unfortunately, customs duties and shipping to and from the US is quite expensive but we have no control over that and it is stated in the shipping policy that we don't cover those customs costs. However, the customs were paid for during the original importation so you shouldn't have to pay them again when returned or for the replacement since it is the same shipment.

After we provided the return label so you could send the faulty item back without cost since it was our fault, there was no communication because that email ticket was closed since the matter the conversation had started had been resolved on 4/9/25. We shipped the replacement garment after receiving and processing the return on 23/9/25 which you've confirmed you've received. You should have received an email notification when the exchange was dispatched with the tracking information, though it might have ended up in your spam/junk folder. If you didn't receive this email then I apologise.

We're pleased that you are happy with the replacement and approve of how it was packed. Please accept our sincerest apologies that your order was first delivered in such a substandard state.

Pessima società

Pessima società, zero cura del cliente,non si può interloquire con il servizio clienti,ho speso 35 € per ricevere un capo che non rispecchiava i miei gusti, sempre a mie spese 70€ ho inviato il tutto per il reso con annesso rimborso come previsto dalle regole commerciali!!!.... sempre a tutt'oggi la società gloverall non lo ritira dal corriere e mi dicono dalla sede in Italia che dovrei pagare ulteriori 100€ per un presunto sdoganamento....dico solo che è allucinante!!!!... sconsiglio categoricamente ogni tipo di acquisto da questa società di persone disoneste!!!.... spero solo di risolvere....in sintesi ho buttato 200€ per un rimborso dovuto di 275€....mai più con loro!!!... Thank you for your review. We apologise that you were unsatisfied with the customer service, the return process and didn't get what you want but apologies, however, having reviewed your conversations with our customer service team, we did reply to all your emails and didn't lie to you in any of them.

You first sent two emails on August 22nd which we replied to August 26th to provide information about how to send a return as requested. You next emailed September 5th to send us the shipping receipt which we replied just a few hours later. You next sent two emails on September 16th which we replied to on the 19th. You were checking the refund, but we had yet to receive the return so hadn't been able to process it yet. You next emailed October 1st and we replied on the 8th. It isn't ideal for a response to take a week, but we do ask to be given 3 - 5 working days to send a response which this was within. We replied to this email about your refund to say it had been refunded on the 7th. You would have received an email notification once the refund had been finalised. You had also sent three emails in quick succession using a different address on October 7th which was replied to on the 14th which again isn't ideal but was in the 3 - 5 working days.

Regarding the return costs, as clearly stated in the returns policy, which is easily accessible on the website and a link to was provided during the first conversation with our team, we don't cover the costs of return shipping for orders outside the UK unless the order was returned for something that was our fault like receiving a faulty item. In those cases we reimburse the shipping once the return has arrived and we've verified that fault.

We couldn't leave the warehouse to collect your return from the depot and, as also clearly stated in the returns policy, it is your responsibility to send the return to the warehouse and once it has been delivered we will process it as soon as possible.

It's truly a shame that we have lost a valued customer and sincerely apologies for any misunderstandings that have caused you to lose trust in us, but we wish you the best and hope that perhaps someday you will consider us again and we can earn your trust back.

An Exceptionally High Quality Gift

I bought a duffel coat for my husband and he absolutely loves it.

Fit: It is a perfect fit. It’s not tight across the shoulders or chest or short on the sleeves. No part of the coat is baggy. It is clear a lot of care and attention was spent on measuring and cutting the fabric so all parts of the coat was the right length, width and would sit as they were supposed to.

Fabric: The fabric is exceptionally high quality. It is smooth and even all over. There are no bubbly, faded or thin parts. The fabric of the leather toggles is also very high quality, it is smooth, thick and of an even colour, it isn’t dry or cracked. All the buffalo horn part of the toggle's are smooth all over and chunky enough to be hard wearing and practical without being too thick and ugly.

Colour: I bought the coat in a dark brown and it is a beautiful colour. It isn’t so dark that it should be black and it isn’t washed out or faded looking.

Hood: The hood is made very well. It doesn’t hang and drag the shoulders down and back when not in use. When up it is the perfect depth to offer warmth and protection without drowning the person wearing it. The structure of the hood is flattering, it doesn’t have an unsightly point and it doesn’t flap out at the sides.

Unlined: I was so happy that Gloverall sell unlined versions of the duffel coats as my husband doesn’t like lining on a wool coat. It is good to have the choice.

Delivery: My purchase was dispatched within 24 hours as advertised and it arrived in a beautiful branded box and was wrapped in branded tissue paper for protection. I can’t fault the delivery or the packaging.

Constructive feedback: I think it would be very useful if Gloverall made and sold hangers for their products, certainly for the duffel coats. That way you would know that the coats were being stored/ hanging correctly when not in use.
