The laptop I sold was received on 4 March and the payment amount was confirmed on 5 March. I then received an email saying “we’ve got some money for you” and I accepted the offer the same day. It is now 16 March and I have not received the payment yet.

I sold a phone with another company that same week and the whole process from them receiving the phone to making the payment took three days. Because of that I am not sure why Laptops Direct takes so long to make a bank transfer. The bank details I sent were correct but apparently there was some trouble making the transfer so I have been instructed to wait another 2-5 working days.

The testing process itself was quick, but the payment has taken much longer than expected.

Good selection of competitively priced ironmongery and other stuff.

Ordered an integrated cooker extractor unit. Easy to find the sizing information needed prior to order, delivered quickly and works well in situ.

Product was at a good price Very poor customer service. Do not know how to treat a customer to retain customer loyalty, will not buy from them again.

Review initially posted on the appliances direct page October 21st 2025 but resolution still not reached

We were sold a faulty product and have spent the last 3 weeks trying to find a resolution to this. We have had to chase up Appliances Direct for communication repeatedly and they are currently refusing to treat our concerns as a complaint despite being asked to. I was pleased with my initial experience with Appliances Direct but, since encountering this issue, they have been incredibly unhelpful.

It's extremely disappointing that it has reached the point where I need to write a negative review to get a response. I also suspect that my review will be responded to by a member of customer service who has had no involvement in the case advising that a resolution has been reached when this is simply not the case.

We were told that we had been assigned a case handler but have spoken to multiple different people about this one issue. This has lead to more complications which we have been left to try and resolve ourselves.

UPDATE 1/12/25

Called appliances direct on 11/11/25 to cancel the delivery of the new dishwasher and collection of the faulty dishwasher as this had not been disconnected yet so collection would not be possible. I had previously attempted to contact them via email regarding this and to ask if we should accept the delivery but had not received a response. When I called I was advised that the delivery had been cancelled but this was incorrect as the delivery still arrived. I accepted the delivery and contacted customer services.

Customer service arranged for a disconnection and installation service free of charge for 18/11/25 after I requested this.

A team came to disconnect the faulty dishwasher and install the new dishwasher on 18/11/25. They then took the old dishwasher away.

01/12/25 I have received a phone call and email from Buy It Direct advising that I have received the dishwasher and a replacement for my order and that they are sure this is a 'misunderstanding'. The email then goes on to say that they 'must collect the item or retake the payment' and that 'further action may be taken' if they don't receive contact in 14 days.

I should not be receiving a threatening email regarding taking payment for/ taking away a product that Appliances Direct supplied free of charge after they supplied a faulty product.

Appliances Direct had previously admitted fault for how they handled our issue and the complaint which I understood to be resolved as of 18/11/25. Unfortunately, it seems as though this is not the case.

12/03/26 Appliances direct advised 3 months ago that their courier did not complete a scan/ the correct paperwork at the time of collection and informed me that they would need to confirm with their courier that the collection took place. They apologised for the delay in looking into this and said they were following it up. This was clearly insincere as I have received no update since.

19/03/26 I emailed the STOS team for an update on 04/03/26, I emailed the head of customer service for an update on 12/03/26, buyitdirect responded directly to this review on 13/03/26 and asked for more information which I provided on the same day. There has still been no attempt to resolve this or contact me.

From the start ordering was quick and easy,and delivery was on time as ordered have no problem from buying from them again.

I am almost 86 years old and I honestly don’t think I have ever been treated so badly by a company.
I bought a cooker and washing machine from Buy It Direct. The items arrived without any warning, so my old appliances had not been disconnected. The old cooker and washing machine were then left outside my front door for nearly two months in the run-up to Christmas, which was humiliating and extremely upsetting for me. It was also time consumin continually contacting them to ask them to take the items away, which is the service i had paid for.
To make matters worse, after only three months of normal use, the cooker’s cast iron grate broke. They have refused to replace it and are accusing me of causing the damage myself. At my age, the suggestion that I somehow broke a cast iron grate is frankly ridiculous. I wish I did still have that strength!
Poor service, poor quality, and disgraceful customer care. I would strongly advise others to shop elsewhere. I certainly will be!

If there was an option for no stars trust me I would have selected this.

First time buying something from the buy direct group and I regret it so much it’s unreal. I am actually quite shocked at the lack of customer service with no intentions of making any effort at all to help me with my purchase issues.

Firstly I added an over £2 grand lab-top to my basket. Good price I have to say which is what was the attraction.

I qualified for a free grift which was absolutely great. Checked out order went through tracking sent and the lab-top arrived.

All seems ok right - WRONG!

Free gift never arrived. And after reels and reels of emails still nothing.

The screen developed and issue I sen images and I was immediately blamed by using some inappropriate cleaning fluid which was ridiculous. Then I was blamed for subjecting the item to an impact that damaged the screen. What absolute rubbish.

Then we have the system update issue and following the recommended restart the dreaded blank screen.

Answer from customer services after numerous emails - nada absolutely completely ignored.

County court now for a refund and damages for such a simple issue to solve.

Don’t buy from this group.
