I called customer service as I had accidentally ordered more DNA testing kits than I needed. The representative I spoke with understood the situation straight away and was knowledgeable, helpful and professional throughout. She was able to resolve the issue quickly and successfully arrange a refund. Really pleased with the customer service I received!

After several years of inactivity, I was having problems signing into Ancestry to view my DNA results. After failing to resolve online, I was put in phone contact with Emer who not only guided me through the steps to reset my access but also spent time ensuring I was familiar with new functionality and linking to my husband's account. She was so helpful, friendly and thorough that the whole experience was actually a pleasure and that's not a word I would usually associate with contacting a help desk!!

I found my second cousin and in June/ July I met up with him . I was pleasantly surprised how he looked a lot like my brother.

Being involved with the wonderful Ancestry gets better and better. It really feels like we are part of the same family, and they treat me as though I am a son, asking questions, and I think of them as the father to whom I ask the questions!
I love Newspapers; they are incredible, and I have discovered amazing details and pictures of many long-forgotten experiences provided by them. Some have arrived after only very basic questions. Thanks again, everyone, and I hope that anyone reading my experiences will realise that anyone's questions relating to their families will be answered equally well!

I found out that my Great Grandfather lied about his surname and I can go no further down that line. I also find that the site is so cluttered up with suggestions ans traits that just tracing a tree is difficult. Factd I could once just find I now have to pay for another site and although I pay over £100 year it would be to expensive to carry on . Iam disappointed with the direction Ancestry has taken.

Expensive gift, cheap online results. Definitely not worth the money.

Before joining Ancestry, I only knew as far as my Grand-parents. Now I have a family tree going back several generations, which is great. The only thing I don't like is that Ancestry membership is expensive and, when they send me information about some relations who have moved abroad or are mentioned in a newspaper article, I am expected to pay even more to upgrade to access that information. I am already paying enough every year, so I think that it's greedy to ask people to pay more to see these pieces of info.

Ancestry DNA registration does not work. I have an ancestry dna kit and have tried repeatedly to register it via the website. The instructions are simple enough but the website clearly doesn't work. I'm fed up with the nonsense. How do I get my money back?

Very disappointed never received my result. I call them they said that they will post them but they never did try to call but its impossible. also its impossible to email them .just waisted my money and time. please don't use this company.

The ancestry was fairly accurate and the relationships of family members were also accurate. Also, the ancestry test is easy to do and straightforward. I also found any queries I had regarding certain tests were answered in a professional and helpful manner. Ancestry were very helpful and I highly recommend it.

Easy to use with a vast array of records, and with suggested links.

I have been an active member on Ancestry for 20 years with just a UK membership, it is so addictive & about 10 years ago I took a Ancestry DNA test which linked me up with distant cousins most of whom I knew nothing about & some matches go back several generations to the 18th century & when people say how do you know that's correct I can say the DNA proves it.

You need to be proactive, add photo's & documents & message people because the problem you can't solve maybe some one else can & I have in the past 12 months I have helped someone to trace a parent.

As a male with three different types of DNA, I have taken numerous tests at various companies over the past quarter of a century. Out of the four companies that I have tested my Autosomal DNA (atDNA) with, I can say with compleat honestly that Ancestry DNA is far and away the best company that I have encountered for testing purposes on atDNA. This is due to the excellent database of testers that they have on Ancestry DNA, which is then backed up by the amount of records that you can then attach to the numerous cousin matches that you receive in your results. As far as my personal results are concerned at Ancestry DNA, It was only after myself and my two siblings took the test at the end of 2019 and received our results back at the beginning of 2020, that at the age 66 my results showed that my younger sibling and I were not the biological offspring of our mother's husband who had raised us. As my sister is eight years younger than me it seems that our mother must have had an affair that lasted for at least that amount of time. The results confirmed also that our older sibling was the biological son of our mother's husband. In my atDNA results I have four cousin matches that through the records on Ancestry I have been able to prove are 1st cousins once removed. Along with the records that are available on Ancestry, I have now been able too show that mine and my sister's paternal Wilmshurst grandparents lived upstairs from us in the two-up and two-down house where I was born in 1954 at Sydney Street in Chelsea, London. Unfortunately my biological Wilmshurst family do not want anything to do with my sister and I, and claim that our results on Ancestry DNA are a load of poppycock. Who knows perhaps one day my family's story might end up on "Long Lost Family"!

Very easy to navigate through generations also very helpful with hints and very good links with relatives.

That is why I have returned to Ancestry to trace my family tree.

I've only ever used Ancestry as a guest and I also use it from my local library. Recently someone contacted me from Germany & he came to visit & earlier this year someone else visited. I've been researching my family for many years & I'm meticulous about it so I get very upset when I see people making errors because they don't do any research e.g. they add names on censuses without checking the relationship therefore if a woman died in childbirth she'll disappear from their history which I find sad. I think it's the best there is. I ordered a DNA test yesterday.

Easy to enter information, already acquired, and the more information added results in even more relations coming to light, thereby enhancing the experience greatly.
