We were directed by the AA to a local garage who arranged an appointment in very good time. They diagnosed an issue and repaired the fault the same day. They were extremely professional and the customer service was very good. Highly recommended.

Added a completely unacceptable and unnecessary element of delay to the entire process. Rather than just investigate the problem, price up the parts, ring for authorisation and complete the repairs. Instead multiple delays were introduced every time the garage needed to request more time to investigate a new issue uncovered and then even more delay after they had submitted the problem for that request to come through. This resulted in deadlines for ordering parts being missed, adding actual days to the whole process. Meanwhile we were left stranded away from home without a vehicle

The AA mechanic showed up and serviced my car, then informed me he couldn’t stamp my book because he doesn’t have a stamp. I’m left with no real record in the book. I phoned to ask if someone else could come and stamp the book. The guy on the phone said he’d call me back but never did. Very disappointed.

I would not recommend AA Smart Care based on my experience.

I paid for a diagnostic to identify the fault with my vehicle, but after being without my car all day, I was left with no diagnosis—just a report listing multiple fault codes without identifying the actual problem. The warning light came back on as soon as I drove away from the garage.

Communication throughout the process was appalling. I received no updates from AA and only found out my car was ready because I called the garage myself. If I hadn’t, I wouldn’t have known to collect it. I also had to request the diagnostic report myself, as it wasn’t sent automatically.

I submitted a formal complaint and received an automated response stating it would be acknowledged within 2–3 working days. That timeframe has now passed, and I still haven’t heard anything.

I’ve paid for a service that wasn’t delivered and have completely lost confidence in both AA Smart Care and the approved garage.

Easy to book and reputable third party services provided

non of the recommended garage could not resolve the issue i just waste my money for the diagnostic check. Finally someone else resolve the issue

Very good experience, would definitely recommend and use again. Communication good to inform me mechanics running late, but also had a phone call when they were 10 mins away.
The two men that came to do the work were extremely polite and very friendly. They informed me that they would only carry out the necessary work.
They respected my driveway protecting it while working and cleaned everything away.

I arrived at the garage at 0850 ten minutes before my appointment as requested. I was asked to park in the lane alongside the garage.
The car did not move into the garage until 1210 . I consider this an excessive amount of time to wait until work was started,if they were this busy why was I given a time of 0900

Once appointment was eventually booked mobile mechanic Philip was brilliant friendly informative professional and perfect job. Well done Phillip . Price was also very fair .

Very disappointing experience with AA Service Care. They recommended a garage that appears to operate under multiple different names.

I was initially told my vehicle had failed its MOT and was unsafe to drive. I was then issued with a passed MOT certificate for the same vehicle. Concerned, I took the car to a different garage, who confirmed it had in fact failed its MOT and should not have been driven. The reason for the failure was also different from what the AA-recommended garage had originally told me.

When I raised these concerns with AA Service Care, they were dismissive and rude, offering no meaningful assistance. Despite recommending the garage, they took no responsibility for helping to resolve the issue. The only advice I received was, “It’s not our problem – contact the DVSA.”

I expected far better customer service and support from a company that recommends repairers to its customers. Instead, they took my money and left me to deal with a potentially serious safety issue on my own.

Booking was fine. However, on the day, I dropped off the car at the scheduled time and then heard nothing. I tried contacting the AA but was stuck in a long phone queue. I was also awaiting a response from them via WhatsApp. Given that it was now less than an hour before the garage closed, I decided to go down there. They were surprised the AA hadn't given me a call. So, they explained the situation to me and I decided to not go ahead with additional work. Five minutes before the garage closed, the AA quote came through via email (still no call to confirm). To decline additional work, you have to call or email them. I have no desire to sit in another phone queue but perhaps unsurprisingly, 3 working days later, I have not had a response to the email. A service that I thought would make the process more painless ended up adding a load of additional unnecessary stress.
