Vi hadde leiebil i pinsen 22 til 25 mai i år. Bilen fungerte aldeles utmerket og var i topp stand med stort bagasjerom som er viktig for oss. Vi er veldig godt fornøyd med servicen ellers.

Sixt Norge prøver å kreve betaling fra kunder for gamle skader. Det som skjedde med meg føles som direkte svindel. De hevder at det var en liten bulk på bilen etter levering, de gjør dette veldig ofte med andre kunder, styr unna.

Dette var en gammel skade som de burde ha oppdaget fra forrige eier. Virker nesten som dette er noe de gjør ofte for å få tilgang på mere cash. Siste gang jeg bruker Sixt i hvert fall.

Like many reviews here, they sent me an invoice for 2500 euros for scratches I supposedly made on the car.

Sixt Norway is trying to charge customers for old damage. What happened to me feels like straight-up scamming.
I picked up the car late at night with no joint inspection. The employee told me to just walk around the car myself and said scratches under 1 cm could be ignored.
After returning the car, I got an email the same day claiming there was new damage on the left front rim.
That is impossible. I made exactly one trip and was never near a curb.
Even worse: their own form already had a mark on a rim — but on the right front wheel, where there was actually no visible damage at all (I had photos). Clearly they mixed up left and right.
Sixt refused to acknowledge this and simply repeated that the damage was “new” and therefore my responsibility.
Invoice: 5,290 NOK (over €500) — including “loss of use” fees because the car supposedly needed repairs.
Absolute nonsense.
Check Trustpilot: dozens of identical stories. Same tactic. Same outcome. This doesn’t feel accidental — it feels intentional.
Sixt Norway: dishonest and predatory.
Avoid at all costs.

Very good experience in Tromso airport. We loved the 4w Toyota rented, it was clean and very pleasant to drive. The advisor were very welcoming and helpful. Quality price was super reasonable.

Svært hjelpsomme folk på Sixt Værnes lufthavn. De hjalp meg med å få start på bil med flatt batteri som ikke startet i -15 grader i parkeringshuset. Tommel opp. Anbefales.

Fraudulent damage claim after return with no check-in inspection
I rented a vehicle from Sixt Tromsø Airport and unfortunately had a very negative experience after returning the car.
After the rental ended, Sixt contacted me claiming there was “new damage” to the right front rim and stated they may charge the deductible.
The issue is:
• The vehicle’s rims already had multiple marks/damage at pickup.
• The rental agreement / damage protocol already shows a marked point (dot) in the same area where they are now claiming new damage.
• When I returned the vehicle there was no Sixt staff present and no joint return inspection/check-in was conducted with me.
• The photos provided were not clear enough to prove this damage occurred during my rental rather than before pickup or after return.
Because there was no return inspection at the time of return, it is unreasonable to place responsibility on the customer for damage identified later.
I paid using American Express and will be disputing any attempted charge through my card provider.
My advice to anyone renting here: pay for full insurance coverage to avoid false claims against you. Based on this experience, I will not rent with Sixt again.

Despite their Nazi supremacist background, having thrived through both world wars in germany by war profiteering, they'll sure do anything for that extra dollar, including scamming you. It's not even a superior scam, It's the dumbest scam you could possibily imagine.
In my case, they just pumped up the price of my rental 3x after i swiped my card, and they deleted my name from their systems. They made up a new name and told me that's why I couldn't get a refund or an explanation. although the payment was in my name.
I got my money back easily through my bank, but this kind of behavior just rubs me the wrong way, so i thought I'd share.
I assumed it was just the employees trying to make a few extra bucks based in the scams low iq nature, but no. After working my way up the customer service chain of command, I discovered protecting these scam tactics is standard procedure. It's a multimillion dollar campany basically trying to pick-pocket you while you watch.
After checking out their history, it's amazing they haven't been shut down by now. Embezzlement, Price fixing, War profiteering, blackmail.
Likely because they always have family members in high ranking political positions throughout the german government.
So if you for some reason have to use Sixt car rental, fight back every time they try to scam you (there will be a lot of attempts), because you will always win. Somehow they're still not good at it.
