I would not recommend. We were in and out within 20 mins, not including que times. The marketing and advertising for this event sounded really good but did not live up to expectations and were false. When the lady in the ticket booth gave us a safe word 'dragon', we were so excited but this definitely was not needed even the slightest. The actors all had masks on, no scary make-up. One of the actors literally said 'roar'. The zombie experiece was 1 room, nothing happened and we were in and out within 1min. We left the event bored and went home to watch a scary movie. We have been offered free tickets to go again and was informed they have made adjustmenrs to make it better, but we politely declined and have requested a refund. To make it better they could have turned all the lights off every so often and provided one person in a group with a flashlight. Also, the actors could have done some acting, made some noises, stroaked peoples arms. We received a refund via requesting a charge back through the bank.

Absolutely awful experience. The rooms were incredibly disappointing — not even mildly scary despite the event’s promises. For the high ticket price, I expected something at least entertaining or atmospheric, but it felt cheap and poorly put together. Definitely not worth the money. I wouldn’t recommend Scream Time at Elvaston Castle to anyone — save your time and cash for something else. Queues were extremely lengthy, for a 10 second walk through rooms that were very underwhelming. Not one to leave reviews but needed to share how poor the experience was.

There was like 15 “ scare actors” and man with a kids toy chainsaw and 3 zombies in the so called zombie maize. You keep deleting comments on how bad it was instead of sorting out the problem at hand. As we waited over half hour past our time slot and the security even saying how it’s not the best this year really made me feel I’d made a mistake! How can you charge this kind of price for that absolute shambles you put on. I want a refund or I will be sending all the photos and info the ombudsman and trading standards! You have mis sold what you were saying was going to be there. £80
Is a lot of money we travelled an hour to get to you and you have ruined Halloween for what absolute rubbish you put on!

To put 1 star is even too much....i felt scammed and mislead by information what event was advertising. Was excited to go on opening day. Im the person who getting scared from my own shadow...but experience i had in Screamtime was outrageous....i get scared more if moth flies in my room than from scary bits in Screamtime. Only scary parts was overpriced food and the walk back to carpark on cobble pavement with no light there... i believe thats a real life experience what organisers put in place - will someone trip over or not?
5 rooms or scare and also safe word Dragon gave me impression that that could be something to be scared off....yeah right... we spent more time queuing to ,scary' parts than we spent there.... in total there was no more than 15 scare actors who was wearing cheap made masks, just starting on you, wow, Thats scary, not! Took us like 10 min to go through all scare rooms and you even cant go through them twice....i don't even want to start about zombie yard....this event was embarrassment to call it scary!
Also, Screamtime FB page reviews, including mine was deleted as was left 13 reviews where people said they do not recommend this event....now no one can leave reviews. On Screamtime page in FB tonns of bad comments under pictures of event is constantly deleted by Screamtime.
I do not recommend this at all....

My friends and I attended the Scream time event at Elvaston Castle and what was advertised as a terrifying, spine-chilling terror event was very underwhelming and overall pretty boring. Whilst the walk towards the castle was good with actors popping out, this felt like a warm up to the main attraction. However, when we got inside the castle, we were told there would be four rooms. We walked through the castle and before we knew it we were back outside having to queue. There were only 2 or 3 actors inside the castle which you could hardly call this terrifying and was more like just walking through an old building. Then as we came out the castle we went over to the zombie courtyard and could not believe it when we walked through and only two “zombies” appeared and we were straight back out the other side. We then took a dark boring walk back through the forest and out the exit. We are extremely disappointed and I’m sorry to say but we would not recommend this for adults and we will not be coming to this event again in the future. Whilst I appreciate it is located in a historic location surrounded by the Forest, it was not worth the £67.50 we spent to come here.

**⭐️ 1/5 – Disappointing Experience at Scream Time, Elvaston Castle**

We were really looking forward to Scream Time at Elvaston Castle, but unfortunately, the whole experience was a huge letdown from start to finish.

We had a time slot booked for **7:45 PM**, but due to the huge crowds and poor organisation, we didn’t actually start the scare walk until nearly **an hour and a half later**. By that point, the excitement had already worn off.

Once we finally began, it quickly became clear that the event was oversold. **Large groups were being released all at once**, which meant the actors didn’t have time to reset between scares. As a result, there were **no real jump scares** or tension — just a long, slow, and rather dull walk. What should have been a thrilling experience ended up feeling chaotic and underwhelming.

After the walk, we were met with a handful of **underwhelming food stalls**, all charging **extortionate prices** for very basic options. Then we headed over to **Zombie Land**, which was advertised as another scare attraction but lasted barely **two minutes** and featured only **two actors** at the end.

Overall, it was a **very disappointing night**. As soon as we finished, we didn’t hang around — we left straight away.

It’s a real shame, because **Elvaston Castle** is a fantastic setting for an event like this, and with better organisation, pacing, and performances, it could be amazing. But this year’s Scream Time felt **rushed, overcrowded, overpriced, and completely lacking in scares**. Sadly, we **won’t be returning next year.
