Pet Insurance Australia have come through for me on every claim I have made. Can't recommend them enough.

So difficult to log onto my online account and lodging claims via post only is from the 80's... otherwise our claims experience from 2014 was fine

The 80% of the claim coverage is false advertising.
They reduce each item by 80% then take the excess out of it so you don't actually get 80% back.

Excellent to deal with, only gave it 4 stars instead of 5 because website for claims is a little confusing and tedious

I have been with PIA now for over 6 years with our 3 Cavalier King Charles Spaniels. I appreciate their prompt attention to any claims and fast payments received.

Not the cheapest pet insurance, but so far I have been happy with the insurance I took out for my cats.
I have only had to claim once, and the vet was able to organise the claim on my behalf, with the money being paid back very quickly.
Good communication- by email and text.

After recently 'inheriting' a little dachshund, I immediately insured him in case of accident, injury or just for preventative appointments. So far, I have been impressed by the way in which a traumatic accidental injury was handled,with no stress on my part making the claim as the vet did it direct with Pet Insurance Australia. Later on in the year, I took the dog for his annual check-up, worming and injections - again, after making the claim, all was settled promptly and efficiently. Yes, I would recommend them as the pet insurer of choice for peace of mind ...

Very good insurance company, no hassle just fill in your details online and soon after that your money is transferred

We were sceptical about pet insurance as we had heard so many bad comments and read similar reviews so we were very happy when PIA paid out our dog accident claim within a week of us submitting the paperwork on line.
Of course our premium then went up LOL but still we are satisfied with the service and applying on line is very easy.

We took out policies with PIA for our two Golden Retriever puppies. Sadly they have both had some ongoing health issues which have been extremely stressful as well as costly. Each claim we have submitted through the online portal has been a quick & simple process with all claims being processed efficiently. We love the correspondence received after each claim as this outlines what has been reimbursed & provides clarification of the claim. We have called a few times to discuss matters & the staff have been helpful & professional at all times. Would choose PIA for pets we may have in the future.

The four week waiting period is designed to protect the insurance company, not the pet. We had very poor experiences with Pet Insurance at the start of our coverage, especially since there is no option to skip the four week waiting period.
We were also punished for being attentive owners and asking questions at the vet's, which then became part of the case history and showed a "pre-existing condition". This was not true, but is used against us as we asked a generic question about the breed.

When requesting information, it was met with generalisation. I had to further prompt to get a further response.

Further, I was charged inappropriate excesses, when it was made clear by my vet that all of the visits, save for one, were related to one condition. Despite this, it was met with deaf ears, and no assistance.

Less than impressed, given I have both of my dogs insured, and your assistance was substandard.

UPDATE: As a result of this review, I was contacted promptly by PIA and advised they had revised my claim. I found the person I spoke to, to be helpful, and I was appreciative of such review. This has resolved my concern, and I am hopeful that future claims will be dealt with appropriately.

If Premium can be keep lower would be even better

Sometimes you feel like you have to jump through hoops. And other times it’s easy to claim

Easy to claim, payment made very quickly. Competitive premiums.

Communication is slow, especially during the first claim process when case notes are required. It was very frustrating to find out why what I had submitted was not enough. However, once that hurdle was overcome, every claim has been processed fast and without any hassle. I have made four claims for two dogs and I have been very impressed. Having insurance has been an enormous relief.

Submitting our first claim was quick and easy, it was actioned extremely quickly!

My premiums for a 10 year old dog are far too high but PIA pays claims very quickly and efficiently.
