Overall it has been a positive experience. Communication has always been polite and informative and the installation team were particularly good. A few issues with installation; the promised panels were not available and we had to have what was in stock but Moixa have compensated us for that; a couple of roof tiles were broken during the installation but the team replaced them; the installation team had to work long hours to ensure the work was completed with two days. It does seem to work ad promised.

We have a very early PV system so generating a good return as HM Gov wanted, on an expensive new technology.
The suitability of a battery to extend the FIT payments is under review with the support team now .
Great support.
Get the biggest battery you can to take the maximum daily output.
You 'win' most by minimising electric consumption. Use output on site, not via the grid.

The Moixa installation team arrived promptly, were courteous & very efficient making an excellent job of the installation both indoors & on the roof. My combined solar panel battery system started working immediately following the commissioning set up and checks. Top marks to Moixa support engineers and their installers. I now only need Octopus Energy to fit their smart meter in order to get maximum benefit from the system.

I have had a Moixa 4.8kWh battery system installed and I'm very please with the product and performance. My only advice is to get a bigger one. My solar panels charge the battery quite quickly so I have spoken to Moixa about the upgrade path and it is something they are working on.

The solar panels were installed without a hitch and we were happy to be doing something environmentally friendly. However, after several months we noticed pigeons had nested under the panels. Our summer was marred by pigeon faeces, broken pigeon eggs and twigs all over the patio. The children could not play outside because of the stench of pigeon faeces. When we tried to clean the roof and panels we saw evidence of pigeon mites. We now have to go through the expense of removing the solar panels so that we can enjoy our garden again. A very expensive experiment!

EDIT: The company have since got in touch with us and apologised for the pigeon problems. To be fair, we should have got in touch with them when we first realised the pigeons were nesting under the panels. As it took several months for the nesting to get out of control enough for us to notice it, we did not think the installers would be able to help after so much time had passed. Moixa in fact have ok customer service and legally were under no obligation to warn us that pigeons may nest under the panels. If we had alerted them to the problem, no doubt they would have assisted. Anyone who wants solar panels is free to consider using this company whilst also considering possible pigeon-proofing solutions.

I came across Moixa at a Fully Charged show and following an excellent presentation from Natalia we purchased a 4KWh battery which they installed and has been running efficiently ever since. What I like about the Moixa is their quick response to any queries and in particular to the ongoing support.
They are a progressive company with many forward looking projects.
Only one point I should mention, I am glad the Battery was installed in the garage and not the kitchen as the noise from the fan that cools the battery although not excessive could have been annoying.

Moixa installed my smart battery and solar panels quickly and efficiently, helping me size the system and get everything into the spaces I had available. The smart battery really works well with a time of use electricity tariff, filling itself up from solar panels or the grid when electricity is cheap, so that I can use its stored electricity when grid electricity is expensive.

Having had the system installed over a year ago I was expecting to be part of the deal that was sold to me including the Gridshare package also that as the software progressed it would work better with agile tarrifs. Following this up with customer service I get one sentence answers and very little solutions. I feel I’ve been sold a lemon and being told to suck on it.

Update: Having been contacted by staff things start to move forward with them correctly sorting getting me on the Gridshare package. However despite being told I would be contacted by sales for upgrade paths I’m still waiting.

I had issues with the battery which I reported weeks ago. Due to covid there was delays which I can understand and have had my battery replaced this week. Unfortunately despite customer service asking if I want my previous battery plan which I confirmed it looks like this has not been applied properly or despite being a new battery there are further problems.

Update 3:
Some magic tweaking and the battery seems to be doing what it should do apart from when it doesn’t. I’m on the Octopus Agile tariff and asked for it to dump between 4 and 7 which it does apart from when it doesn’t. Some cryptic message about some other solar panels in my street sending interference causing it not to discharge!

It seems far to complicated for what should be a simple setup and has no user control. I should be able to have a manual override in those cases where the mysterious interference stops the programme from running, or able to stop a charge if it kicks in at an expensive rate. This type of access is not possible and there is no insight into any roadmap.

Real world usage also seems to point at that it has an inefficiency of about 20 to 30%. This seems quite high for this technology and so beyond using it to store solar power I wouldn’t recommend it as a solution for helping to shift usage from high carbon times to low carbon times. Other providers seem to be more efficient and I would suggest the reader consider them.

As of update 3 I’ve still not had any details on how I can upgrade to the newer bigger battery which should use AI to respond to the agile tarriff and allow me to export more through the inverter. The small battery is just too limiting.

Overall I couldn’t recommend this company to someone else at this time.

If the CEO reads these I would recommend you invest in your customer service as your early adopters are loosing faith.

Moixa has recently changed the Moixa Dashboard to provide "further information". What had been a simple graphic giving all the information you require clearly and instantaneously has been exchanged for graphs and data which takes 20 minutes or more to achieve the same thing.

Efficient install and set up by the engineer who explained how the system worked. The app and My Moixa page works well and provides comprehensive info.
The aftercare has been outstanding as Moixa keep looking for ways to improve the battery's performance and function.

From first contact / enquiry all the way through the purchase and manufacture process Moixa kept me up to date with progress. Installation was easy undertaken by their installer and done in around 3.5 / 4 hours.

Product is great. Build quality is great. Customer service is great.

My Moixa battery ceased to work on April 14th in the midst of lockdown. I was told it would need an engineer to visit. As the Moixa operation side had been shut down expected there to be a delay until contractors got back to work.
At the beginning of August I finally got a call to say an engineer would be coming. This has now happened and the battery is back working.
Once Moixa got round to ordering the repair, the contractor and staff have been helpful but I do think it took them a long time to get going again.

Have had numerous problems with my installation - emails get ignored and I’ve been waiting 5 months for an installer to visit - there was a 6 week gap between reporting an issue that requires a visit and lockdown restrictions starting and since restrictions have been relaxed I’ve only had a holding email and my replies have been ignored. Appreciate that COVID-19 has complicated things, but a simple reply or phone call would help. They also don’t seem to have any installers or support engineers in the south west.

Moixa have been excellent at keeping me informed if any changes to software on the app their help line have been excellent.

I have seen other battery's fitted in homes but are not as neat and have been bigger in size. I am really glad I chose moixa for my storage it makes the most of a solar only system and is an excellent way of storing your extra energy generated by the solar.
This does not effect feed in tarrif only the electric bill by lowering it.

Battery stopped working 5 months ago and was promised a replacement but have heard nothing since. Hayleys promise to another poster on 7 February to keep people updated has not been followed through. I have heard nothing since December. Poor aftercare service

Our battery was working fine until 6 months ago
We have been told inverter has gone and that a new battery would be installed.
Each time we contact them a new reason is given why unable to supply replacement,

I'll start with 4.8kw but really 3.8kw don't bother not worth it. The solar panels are good and when the sun's out it does save you money but the battery just isn't worth it so save yourself some money. If you really want a battery go for at least 6kw plus and make sure it's 6kw of available electric. Moixa are also terrible at coming back to emails, reply time is around 2 weeks minimum but they are quick if you haven't purchased yet because they definitely sell it to you. To be honest feel tricked.

Just had one of the 4.8kWh Moixa batteries installed. I have 3.6 kilowatts of solar panels and am on the Agile tariff from Octopus. Even on a cloudy day the battery is saving me so much money. I’m really impressed.

The service I have received from Moixa and their installer has truly been 5*. The communication, knowledge and attention to detail has been top quality.
