Bought a bow kit recently ,it wasn't cheap and I expected the price to mirror the quality of the product
The bow is functional but feels and looks cheap
The worst thing is the six arrows which after an hour's use are bending and losing flights ,all the equipment has been used with the target and in a proper way
Customer service was prompt, understandable when alls they did is refuse to acknowledge any responsibility
Go elsewhere for your archery kit

I was looking to have a bow custom built as a Christmas present for my wife who is reasonably new to archery. I have very limited knowledge of archery and even after researching online I was still unsure. I sent an email off to Merlin explaining my situation and gave a rather flexible budget. A few days later I received an email back from Billy who was more than helpful. I had mentioned a few products that I had seen but he advised me of some other alternatives and after browsing through with his help I managed to order a custom built bow to my wife's specification which actually worked out cheaper than my original choices and it was delivered promptly. All of the parts of the bow and the associated gear appear to be perfect and undamaged in any way, they were well packed and are now wrapped up under the tree.

All in all a very positive experience for me. Im sure I could have ordered from other websites and probably found some of the items cheaper but when it comes to spending a reasonable amount of money on something I know very little about it is nice to have that confidence that staff are willing to offer you options within your budget and can back up why they think their recommendations are most suitable.

I think ill be coming back for my own bow all being well.

Bad customer service and communication. I've got a few deals in the past, but the critical support just isn't there, you can get cheaper big-ticket items literally anywhere on the web but the consumables tend to be reasonably priced.

Came missing 2 nuts and asked for multiple photos etc showing missing nuts, awful customer service sorry I ever ordered from them PayPal claim started

I ordered 2 crossbows and some bolts in March. All in stock as per the website. Had to send my ID twice to them for age verification, as the first email went unanswered. The order was emailed to me, and it transpired that one of the bows was actually out of stock - “Yours within 7-10 days”. Annoying, but ok not everyone keeps on top of their website in real time. The other bow had 3 in stock and the bolts 24+ in stock.
So I thought ok, I’ll wait. This was around the time the UK went in to corona lockdown. 1 week, 2 weeks... I followed up, and Merlin told me they didn’t know when the other bow would be available. They offered me an alternative, a refund, or said I could keep waiting. I decided to keep waiting.
Anyway, a couple of weeks after this I got a call to say they still didn’t have a confirmed date for the out of stock bow, and that now, all items were out of stock. Hang on, you’ve already had my money, but you didn’t put the in stock items aside for me, that I’ve already paid for? Or offer to send them out sooner? No, you sold them to someone else. What the??!!! This is terrible service, terrible!
I get that one of the bows was unavailable, they couldn’t help that. The global supply chain was stretched to say the least. But the other items were very much in stock, I paid for them, and yet they didn’t send them to me or even put them to one side. This is 100% their fault, dreadful service, and this is why they get the low rating.
Anyway I emailed them and said I would accept a different model if it became available first. In May, I got a call to say that none of the items would be available any time soon. So I asked for a refund, and the money was returned promptly.
So, I did a Google search for the bows, and guess what, the alternative item I said I would accept was in stock, at Merlin. Why didn’t they offer me that?! Again, poor service.
I raised a new order 5pm Friday for one bow, and after a couple of annoying emails where they asked me to send my ID in again, I received the item Tuesday morning. So that transaction went ok. The bow had a bent out of shape metal component though, but I was able to fix this myself.
Merlin Archery offers a strange customer experience, not proactive at all in supporting their customers, it all seems a bit mechanical. I get that Covid is causing all sorts of challenges, but other companies are overcoming these challenges so much better - springfields.co.uk for example, or heinnie.com - both of whom face the same problems, but have coped better with both my orders, and the service they provided to me.
These are the sorts of companies that get return business - Merlin Archery, take note!

Awful customer service, paid and sent proof of payment and yet they claim to have not received the payment after emailing back and forth for several days I have gotten no where.
DONT WASTE YOUR MONEY HERE

I made an order online yesterday afternoon and then realised I wanted to add something else. I emailed them and asked about updating my order - this wasn't possible, so they were able to cancel and refund the order and this allowed me to reorder the original item with added extras. My order has now been shipped for delivery. The service and communication has been exceptional, and under the current circumstances it makes their service even better. A special mention to Billy who made the entire process a breeze. I would highly recommend Merlin Archery to anyone who reads this.

Absolutely awful service and shoddy goods. I have made 3 purchases and all 3 have been defective or the wrong product.They are basically archery snobs who look down on any one who is interested in crossbows. when your defective or wrong product arrives the customer service person will gas light you and try to blame you the customer. I have even been to the shop in the north east which was also a waste of time. Find a respectable retailer and spend your money there. Do not take a chance on Merlin and don't be taken in by the positive reviews they generate themselves, you may well be throwing money down a hole.

Just had a new string fitted to my bow after a dry fire incident.
What great service. New string, peep sight and a whole load of adjustments to make it all fit.

I recently ordered the Hori-zone redback. After doing so read reviews on merlin archery.And regretted ordering as they had quite a few bad reviews. But was left very impressed with the service as I ordered Wednesday and got it the next day at 11:30am. GREAT PRODUCT AND EXCELLENT SERVICE...A++++++

Merlin are a great company, my experience is that they can't do enough for you. Luke is brilliant and the rest of the team likewise caring professionals, been a great help to me for many years.

I've been told the service in store is good but my experience is all based on online shopping and dealing with customer service. They can't seem to just have products in stock and ship them out in a reasonable time frame. I've placed six orders and so far only one has just turned up with no problems. You place your order, wait the expected delivery time only to message them saying where are my goods and then "oh there is a delay and we didn't let you know, you have to change your order or pay more postage as we don't part ship orders" or pay, wait 3/4 working days to get a "x out of stock, you'll have to wait for stock. No we don't part ship." You have to speak to multiple staff over multiple days and often complain via email and fb before someone answers. Mine were not custom orders, just off the shelf items. Some orders are shipped overnight, some take a week, it's oddly hit and miss. Their product knowledge seems ok if you have a question so that's good and they can amend placed orders which is helpful, but the shipping problems and failure to communicate in a timely manner leave a lot to be desired. After the over a week delay on my last order I am not ordering from them again, especially after finding a fairly expensive item nearly 20% cheaper elsewhere and being unable to return it due to prohibitive postage costs.
