Tengo una KTM 1090 Adventure R del 2017, la compre en Irlanda (pais miembro de la UE), a dia de hoy llevo mas de 2 meses intentando matricularla en España y no es posible debido a que KTM España se niega a proporcionar la informacion relativa al nivel de emisiones EURO al servicio tecnico de la ITV, todos sabemos que es EURO 4, pero necesito un email de KTM confirmandolo, tan simple como eso.
Tanto yo, como el Ingeniero Jefe de la ITV nos hemos puesto en contacto con KTM por email, telefono....mas de 20 veces y se niegan a proporcionar esta informacion - Con un solo email por parte de KTM confirmando ese valor, bastaria - Me han explicado que para obtener ese dato debo pedir el CoC, cosa que me costaria €200, ridiculo.
Seguire hacia adelante, si tengo que llevar el caso a Consumo lo hare.

El Ingeniero de la ITV me explico que nunca le habia pasado algo asi con ninguna otra marca de motos, BMW, Honda, Yamaha, etc...

Mechanical problems can happen, this I can understand and tolerate. What I cannot tolerate is the lack of respect.
I bought a new bike from Germany a year and so ago and had an issue with it since day one. After an year with constant repairs and "tweaks" (4 times in service for the same issue) the bike is still not fixed. I contacted the dealer from which I bought the bike and requested support ( a new bike or at least extended warranty at that point) and the reply was "dont worry it will be fixed". After this message he no longer answered my messages or calls. I then tried to contact Ktm directly and kindly asked for a new bike ( I was willing even to pay a difference) considering they didn't had a fix for the issue (nor an estimated repair date) and the bike had very low milage at that time but they didnt bother to respond even after multiple attempts.
I'm now stuck with bike that cost almost 20k euro (not taken into account the aftermarked accesories) with less than a year of warranty, which was dissasebled more times than I can remember and with bad service history that prevents anyone from buying it. I'm sure we could have reached a middle ground if KTM bother to respond but they don't seem to care, the sale was already done, why should they?
I'm trully dissapointed, KTM was my favorite brand but I don't see me buying any bike from them again or recommend them after this hell of an experience.
It's a shame, KTM could have had a customer for life (as I ussually buy the latest stuff once every 2-3 years) but they preffered to don't give a damn.
I gave two stars as their bike are really fun to ride if you are lucky enough to get a fully functional one.

Ze sturen me door naar anwb wegenwacht. Ik heb de motor nieuw gekocht, zo wil ik niet behandeld worden. Het enige wat ik wil is z.s.m hulp van Ktm en niet dat urenlange gezeur of de motor wel of niet dealeronderhouden is.
Voor mij nooit meer een nieuwe ktm. Ben zeer teleurgesteld dat een leuke motorweekend zo moet eindigen. Ik heb nu zelf vervoer naar huis geregeld

Habe mir eine gebrauchte KTM 1290 Super Adventure (Bj. 2017) gekauft. Die hat zwar viel Schnickschnack aber nichts funktioniert wirklich richtig gut. Die Fehler und Mängel will ich gar nicht erst aufzählen (Tempomat, MTC, Kette etc.). Es klappert und scheppert an allen Enden. Und das bei einem der teuersten Serien-Motorräder am Markt. Habe ein Billigmodel von Kawasaki aus dem Jahr 2005. Das ist um ein Vielfaches zuverlässiger und der Preis war bei 25% einer KTM.
Kann nur jedem Empfehlen, die Finger von einer 1290er zu lassen. Kauft euch lieber etwas Vernünftiges. KTM ist in den Foren masslos überbewertet. Ich habe mich da auch täuschen lassen.

Der Akku Auswurf ist aber sehr anfällig (Unterrohr). Erst war die Feder weg und nun streikt ständig der Veriegelungshebel! Einfach nervig!!

Entire engine corroded on 2022 690 enduro. KTM refusing to repair or replace.
Fiance brought a brand new KTM 690 enduro last year (2022) from Chester KTM. He noticed extensive corrosion and took it back right away. The entire engine has corroded rendering it unusable and unsafe. KTM are trying to suggest that this is due to improper care of the vehicle and are refusing to repair or replace. It has been garaged and cared for with the manufacturer guidelines and clearly has a significant manufacturing issue. We WILL be taking legal action if this is not resolved.
KTM doesn't honor anything poor customer service
i purchased a 2022 KTM RC390. Reading all the info about the bike it was the only 400 class motorcycle with technology TFT. Every listing says the RC390 will get the BLUETOOTH option and work with KTM my Ride for 2022. My bike was a sept build and this was the only reason i purchased it over other brands. After buying the bike the dealer sales person was trying to help me get the bluetooth option to work so they told me to download the KTM app enter my vin and then connect to the bike. I did download the app purchased the GPS function from app to find out the bike doesn't have bluetooth and even the dealer was not aware the features was not installed. After reaching out to KTM i was told there was a shortage of chips so the bike did not have it. Well they should have updated all the info online to tell customers that or even send out memos to dealers. So now i bought a bike thinking it would have tech pack and its just a regular TFT. If i would have known this it would have been a deal breaker for me purchasing the bike. KTM will not honor what they published even though they could easily have dealers warranty the TFT and replace them now since im sure there is no shortage of chips.

6 Wochen gewartet um Ventilkissen für eine KTM Duke zu erhalten, was für ein Armutszeugnis, nie wieder KTM, der letzte DRECK! Nicht mal eine geschenkt würde ich wieder eine nehmen, SCHANDE über euch !
690 SMCR Tank undicht
Ich schließe mich dem Duke-Fahrer an. Bei mir handelt es sich um eine 690 SMCR, ebenfalls Tank undicht. Sämtliche Dichtungen gewechselt, Druckregler Einheit komplett gewechselt und Problem bestand nach wie vor. Daraufhin wurde mir gesagt der Benzintank muss neu, Kostenfaktor ebenfalls um die 1400€.
Da es sich bei der ganzen Sache um einen eindeutigen Verarbeitungsfehler handelt, habe ich KTM angeschrieben und um Kostenübernahme auf Kulanzbasis gebeten. KTM hat sich davon nichts annehmen lassen und eine Kulanz verweigert. Bei einem solchen Motorradhersteller erwartet man schon etwas Qualität und kann dann bei derartigen Reparaturen, aufgrund von schlechter Verarbeitung / schlechter Qualität eine Reparaturübernahme erwarten?!
Vor einem Jahr ist bei mir bereits an der Umlenkung eine Schraube weggerissen! Die KTM Fachwerkstatt konnte sich dies auch nicht erklären, spricht ebenfalls für eine minderwertige Qualität!
Habe mir von KTM mehr erhofft, wurde aber leider enttäuscht... Forenbeiträge sprechen für sich.
I give KTM a horrible review
I give KTM a horrible review. My bike which is a 2014 ktm 350sxf only has 20 hours on it. It's like new. When I was riding it recently one of the nuts that attaches to the head stud had rattled loose and came off the stud and fell down into the timing chain and snapped the cam chain and also broke 2 valve levers in the process. I replaced the cam chain and I reached to ktm to see if they could help me out with a couple or valve levers since they are $100 each. They said there is nothing they could do for me and that was it. Horrible customer service and a head nut should not be rattling loose and falling off with 20 hours on a bike. Especially a ktm. I'm so disappointed in my bike and with ktm as a company. I will never buy another one.
We want ktm 2020 model back
£16500 on a scrap bike that nearly killed me.
Where do I start.. brand new faulty ktm 2022 back in multiple times and now 9 weeks without a bike that has nearly killed me after they fixed with a file yes a file. Now ktm have gone quiet and ignoring thinking it will go away. Lies after lies rude and ignorant wait for the reply they are very good at twisting it. Honestly stay away. Research ktm 1290 from 2021 this is a massive issue fly wheel related that a file will fix or put you in hospital there incapable of fixing this bike
This problem is not the only one I have had. fuel cap issues broken down twice recovery home back into dealer 3 times with this. Damaged paint from there tech water pipes not tightened still leaking as the couldn’t find the problem have this on report what I will share.
Bike was temporarily fixed with second hand parts apparently off there demo bike. When I asked for the demo bike they was never given one by ktm Uk. More lies. Yes I have the emails confirming this

Ktm adventure 250 should have LED head lights instead of halogen lights hoping to get it soon in upcoming months and Bluetooth connectivity could be a better option too.
I Hope KTM would add these features soon.
KTM SD 1290 R, 2021. Ersatzteilmangel
Habe 2021 eine Superduke 1290 R gekauft. Tolles Bike, ohne Frage.
Vor 2 Wochen habe ich einen Defekt am Kühler festgestellt.
(2 Monate nach der Wartung)
Garantie wurde anerkannt, Motorrad, durch KTM Mobilitätsservice montags abgeholt und zum Händler gebracht.
Soweit toller Service.
Donnerstags habe ich den Händler kontaktiert.
Antwort: "Garantieübernahme muss vom Hersteller genehmigt werden, dann kann das Ersatzteil bestellt werden."
Dienstag darauf kommt der Anruf vom Händler: "Ersatzteil bestellt, Lieferzeit mindesten 5 Wochen."
Ich Falle aus allen Wolken.
Nach Rückfrage: "Es gibt auch kein Ersatzfahrzeug. Steht mir nicht zu."
Meine geplanten Urlaubstouren im August? Kann ich vergessen!

Worst aftercare
Worst aftercare on the most expensive bike I have bought to date. 2021 superduke r 1290 with all the trick bits. They will try void or get out of warranty work by any means necessary. Dealers offering 3ed party warranty’s by Autoguard as there own are not worth it. I will never ever buy another KTM and warn everyone away from them. Dealers claiming to no nothing about problems with keyless fuel caps not opening, steering dampeners falling off and exhaust clamps puncturing radiators although there are loads of people having the same issues. Dealers lie about not been able to reset the service light yourself when you can. I could go on all night.

A few months ago I saw a bike KTM 1290 SAS on auto trader and called dealership AMS Tewksbury. I think the director answered the call. I asked for details of the bike. The person on the phone was rude and abrupt and told me all the details of the bike was in front of me as per the advert on auto trader. It appeared to me I was being a pain for having the cheek to ask about a bike. I told this person he was rude and made my feelings known.He made me feel stupid which I am not. On the Saturday I visited the showroom AMS Tewksbury and spoke to the director and said I was the guy on the phone and we did not get off to a good start. I asked to test ride a 1290 SAS which they did allow when not planned so fair play. The owner looked at my part exchange 1200 GS and offered me a ridiculously low price. Funny how the dealer I brought my KTM from offered me £1300 more thats a huge difference. I just did not feel comfortable with AMS. My impression was they are not helpful and find it difficult to get off their chairs for customers. However I did eventually buy a 1290 SAS not from this dealer I might add. My advice do not go anywhere near a KTM. After 1300 miles it developed a major problem. A rear Cylinder head gasket failure and oil leak. The bike was 2 months old. I will add it was services at 624 miles by a KTM dealer so i did my bit in ensuring the first run in service was completed. Trying to get a KTM dealer to take it in and resolve the problem has been a nightmare. They will do everything to fob you off. Excuses range from. Its a bad time of year to have a problem, we are busy. A shortage of techs. Long Long waiting times weeks if not months. This is just to assess the bike not to carry out the work which could be further weeks of waiting. KTM simply do not have the infrastructure to support the brand. They seem to have a chronic shortage and techs and long waiting times for basic services. They have no resilience for unexpected work such as warranty issues. KTM simply lie about a replacement bike. The warranty states if your bike is brought to an authorised dealer and they cannot repair it within 24 hours you are entitled to a rental vehicle for up to 4 days. This is rubbish the dealers say they do not have a bike. KTM UK states its down to the dealers not them so they both fob you off. This warranty promise means nothing. I have been left stranded and without a bike. The only way to get the ball rolling is call the RAC and insist the bike is recovered to the nearest dealer which i did. My bike as not been recovered to AMS. This work is ongoing I will conduct a further review when its been completed. As it stands its going to be 2 weeks before i get the bike back and repaired from where it was recovered to the KTM dealer. I would also add the RAC was useless. They send a Local motorcycle recovery company. The recovery van was a clapped out old piece of rubbish that broke down and delayed my bike arriving at KTM dealer by a day. My advice do not go anywhere near KTM. I will get rid of mine and go back to BMW. This will cost me as the depreciation on KTM is shocking I can expect to lose £5000 to £6000 on a bike thats 3 months old. But I will take the loss to get shot of this bike. KTM UK will not help you the only way of contact is email. They refuse to call you to help. Their answers to your emails are slow and unhelpful. In 30 years of bike ownership this has been awful and stressful experience. Never again.
You might as well throw £16.000 down the drain these bikes and the dealer network are rubbish. KTM UK is a useless and faceless organisation. AVOID KTM at all cost
