JB HiFi mobile…poor customer service

I have been a long time customer of JB HiFi until now.

Having a mobile plan with Telstra, I was forced to have 2 separate accounts, with one for my home internet with Telstra and a separate account with JB HiFi mobile.

Apparently having 2 different accounts is somehow beneficial to me!? Now when an issue arises I need to contact Telstra who fob me off to JB Hifi. Try to get help from JB HiFi mobile...waste of time.

I needed to call the USA with JB HiFi telling me I needed a international calling pack, which I bought.

Once this service was no longer required, I tried to cancel the international calling pack. There was no option for me to do this. Frustrated I messaged JB HiFi where the run around began. I was told I could not cancel the international calling pack until the new period despite giving them over 2 weeks notice. I was told a date that I could cancel and locked this date into my calendar with a reminder set.

On this date I logged into my JB HiFi account to find out I could not cancel this service. Again I messaged JB Hifi where I was assured this matter would be escalated to a complaint where JB HiFi would cancel the international calling pack on their end. Additionally, I was assured I would not be billed.

The next day I received an email from JB HiFi confirming payment of my bill including the cost of the international calling pack, despite being assured I would not be charged. Again JB HiFi messaged and told they would escalate the matter as a complaint. Once my payment had been processed it would take 3-5 business days to see my refund.

I am sick of businesses taking money from customers unlawfully and dragging their heals to provide a refund for money they had no right to take in the first place.

JB HiFi, I have been a loyal customer for years with JB HiFi being one of my favourite businesses. After this experience, you have lost me for good.

You should be ashamed of your customer service.

DO NOT USE JB HIFI
absolute scumbags have been withdrawing money out of my account since August. I had a 2 year phone contract which I paid. I then went to cancel the contract and they won’t let me.
Have contacted multiple times and they ignore emails and so on.
Have advised me to use the app but I have tried to explain that it asks to send a verification message to my old phone which I no longer have.
They now won’t respond to any emails or request even using the live chat bot. Nothing sure what else I can do but warn people not to use them.
Absolute scumbags.

Have waited weeks for delivery and can not talk to a live human in reference.
After waiting an hour I got through to a gentleman who transferred me only to be disconnected! When I called back I was #43 in line to be answered. I want a refund.

Paid for and ordered a new LG glass door fridge paid for the delivery.
It turned up and up packed it the glass door was smashed !
They wanted to leave the broken fridge and glass all over the floor.
I had to convince them to take it back.
Now 2 days later I can’t get hold of them online no fridge no money refunded

Disgruntled

I ordered a television, soundbar and ticked yes at did I want it installed. I paid for everything and received a confirmation that my order would be delivered in 4 days at the latest. The sound bar arrived in 4 days but the television was not. The 4 day deadline came and went and I contacted JB Hi-Fi. Their chat bot is dreadful and I had to ask for a real person. He was full of fake sympathy and left me in limbo whilst they investigated. The television arrived 8 days after ordering and from having the installation booked for day 5 I was told other customers could not be disadvantaged (even though they ordered after me) and I would have to join my place in the queue at day after ordering. Never again will I order something from JB Hifi.

JB HiFi - lousy online customer service

JB HiFi, Please accept this constructive feedback. Your live chat is a very lousy live chat system. I have not seen such a worse live chat system in Australia, especially for such a large company like JB HiFi. The amount of time that people have to wait is simply ridiculous and appalling. And to make matters worse, every 15 seconds we have to keep tapping on our phone screen so the chatbot doesn't disconnect us. I kept getting disconnected from the live chat as soon as my screen went off. This happened 5 times. This is just ridiculous and isn't something that is seen in other live chat systems. Today I waited for nearly 2 hours to have my turn on this live chat before I finally got connected, and this was only possible as I kept tapping on my phone screen every 15 seconds for 2 hours, so that the chatbot doesn't disconnect me. Absolutely ridiculous live chat system. When I finally got connected, the live chat agent simply dismissed my enquiry and asked me to contact the store. I also rang your online customer support phone number. I waited on that line for 2.5 hours (literally 2.5 hours) for my turn to come. I was no. 43 in the queue to start with and then 2.5 hours later when I was no. 11 in the queue, the phone was abruptly disconnected from your end. I was gobsmacked with this terrible and appalling customer service from JB HiFi. I would never purchase from JB HiFi ever again, so I don't have to use this stupid live chat system ever again or contact their lousy and inefficient online customer service team.

Poor customer service and courier service

Ordered two items one arrived quickly other did not show up though was told delivery complete tried to contact JB put on hold for over two hours until my phone died. Contacted global express their preferred courier had two live chats both times told ticket raised though no response. Tried JB love chat with old to new air for live consultant for two hours when third in line chat dropped out. Don't know what's happening don't know if someone stole it from their depot literally have no idea where a TV has vanished too and impossible to get any answers. Spend your money elsewhere.
I don't really know if it's JB or their chosen courier service but something has to change before they lose any market share they still have.

Unable to deliver on time, waiting for support for hours.

Well, lying to customers on time frames is time-wasting. I'm going to stop shopping at JB due to "estimated times" taking 2–5 times as long.

Delays in orders without notifications is not on!

The lack of attentive customer service creates more problems, increasing the cost of business. Including loosing customers.

Bad customer service in store and online. I'd rather shop elsewhere.

Avoid JB Hi-Fi online – backorder bait-and-switch & gift card trap

Ordered online an iPhone the Website said “in stock / fast delivery” after money was taken instantly the order flipped to indefinite backorder with zero notification or ETA.

Worse still, their customer support is a nightmare: the online bot is completely useless, phone queues are endless, and agents offer zero transparency about delays or stock. You’re left in the dark for weeks

When I finally cancelled, support refused a proper cash refund and forced the entire amount back as new JB gift cards, despite the phone being unavailable for months (while the exact same model is in stock at Apple Stores nationwide).

This is a classic bait and switch: they show fake stock to grab your money, then lock your funds into store credit when they can't deliver. Go straight to another reputable retailer. JB Hi-Fi is not worth the stress or the risk.
Extremely disappointed and will never shop with JB Hi-Fi again.

Don't by anything that needs to be…

Don't by anything that needs to be delivered unless you want to stay home to sign for it otherwise it goes back and then you have to go and pick it up from the distribution site. So you pay through the nose for delivery and then you have to go and pick it up yourself. Took over 1/2 hour trying to find out this from the delivery company!!!!! What a total joke the company is as far as delivery goes????

TV not delivered

I bought a TV recently (Order #JB-23889032) and the delivery was scheduled for 3rd December. Surprise: it has not been delivered, and JB still hasn’t even provided a tracking number. I tried contacting their customer service team and—another surprise—you’re placed in a queue with over 100 people ahead of you and a wait time of more than one hour. Is this a joke? I will NEVER, ever buy anything from this store again. This is a complete lack of respect for their customers. At this point, I’m starting to believe I’ve been scammed.

Still waiting for a delivery...

Ordered a delivery by Uber as a treat but over three days later I'm still waiting for the delivery. The Southland store is 5km from my house but for some inexplicable reason it has been sent on a different slow courier and is now resting at Melbourne airport.

Obviously can't get through to customer service as the phone keeps disconnecting during the 30 minute online queue that never dissipates.

Never again will I buy from Jbhifi - an utter shambles from start to whenever it may finish...

Zero Customer Care at JB Hi-Fi

Extremely disappointed with JB Hi-Fi Coomera. I purchased a Garmin Forerunner on November 21, 2025, believing it was a standard touchscreen smartwatch. Upon setup, I discovered it has no touchscreen and was overly complex.

I returned to the store the next morning to explain it wasn't what I expected. The manager refused a return, hiding behind their 'open box' policy, showing zero goodwill for a customer's honest mistake.

Because of this rigid and unhelpful return policy, I will never buy any product from JB Hi-Fi again and cannot recommend anyone shop there. Buyer beware
