not easy to assemble
I loved the finished product but it was not easy stuffing the cushion into the fabric for the ottoman and putting the cover around the base of the ottoman almost made me lose my religion! I had thought about purchasing a couch but am glad I didn't because I would have been so aggravated assembling it I would probably have returned it.

Disappointing, frustrating to assemble, and far too firm
I really wanted to love my Home Reserve couch, but the overall experience has been extremely disappointing.
Assembly was a nightmare. The couch arrives flat-packed as a massive pile of wood panels, cushions, covers, and other parts. It took hours of tedious, exhausting work to assemble, and a power drill is practically essential.
Unfortunately, the finished couch was not worth the effort. The cushions are incredibly stiff and hard. Sitting on it feels more like sitting on a waiting-room bench than relaxing on a cozy living-room sofa. For the price, I expected it to be much more comfortable.
The interior frame also relies heavily on exposed engineered wood, which had a noticeable odor when it arrived.
The hidden storage under the seats is clever, and washable covers are a nice concept. Unfortunately, those features do not make up for the miserable assembly process and lack of comfort. I would not purchase this couch again or recommend it.

Our goal is for every couch we send out to feel right in your home, so thank you for sharing this feedback. If you aren’t expecting assembly, that can definitely feel like a bigger project than anticipated, and we are always here to walk you through it!
We ship flat-pack because it lets us keep the quality high while keeping costs down (everything's manufactured and shipped right here in the USA), and it means the couch can actually make it up narrow stairwells and through tight doorways that a pre-built sectional just can't. It also means that down the road, if one cushion or panel ever needs replacing, you can swap just that piece instead of starting over with a whole new couch.
We hear you on the firmness too, and we want to be upfront about why we make that choice rather than brush past it. Our cushions are firmer at first, and with a purpose! While a springier, plush sensation initially might be inviting, that type of immediate softness often leads to sagging after only a few weeks of use. We choose a medium high density foam for our cushions, which means they start with a firmer feel but are built to maintain their integrity and shape over the years, while adapting over time to your comfort level . It's a tradeoff we make for durability, and we think it's worth it. That said, comfort is so personal, and that's exactly why we offer our No-Risk Trial! Everyone's comfort needs are different, so we offer the opportunity to try out a single seat, experience the assembly process first hand and give it some time to see how it feels for you.

Fabulous Customer Service and Product Quality! All online information is accurate. Estimates on time to construct are probably light. While not technical, this is more time consuming than 40 minutes / unit. With that said, once you get going, it's fairly simple, repeatable, and very well packaged and instructed.

Do not buy—waste of money and a safety hazard
This was hands down the worst furniture purchase I have ever made. After the boxes sat in my living room for a week, I paid $300 for a professional to assemble it, thinking that would ensure it was done correctly. Even with professional help, the assembly process was an absolute disaster. The parts didn’t align properly, and the whole thing felt like trying to force together a cheap, poorly manufactured puzzle.
The final result is not sturdy at all. The back of the couch wobbles significantly every time you lean against it, and the frame constantly squeaks and flexes as if it is about to collapse. It is completely unsafe for daily use and looks nothing like the high-quality furniture advertised. Between the initial cost and the $300 I wasted on professional assembly, this is a financial loss I deeply regret. Save yourself the frustration and your money—do not buy anything from them.

My couch came boxed in clearly marked boxes that allowed me to know what boxes go together for each section of the couch. The directions provided were very clear and easy to follow to get the couch put together correctly the first time. The quality was great and everything looks exactly like expected. I would definitely recommend Home Reserve to other buyers.
