I booked a repair. Supplied make and model number - it turned out that the parts were obsolete. Given that they new make and model and I had specifically stated I wanted all four igniters electrodes replacing they should have been able to reject the job. Instead they sent an engineer (who was very good) to do a diagnostic and ultimately charged me £169 for a call out and a diagnostic. Basically far too much to not actually get my cooker fixed. Don’t use this form. Go straight to the subcontractor - domestic heroes

Promised a date 28th went to tracking found it booked for 2nd. Phoned to complain and got back to 28th. Shortly after got call it was now 29th. So in the morning I will be asking for a full refund and cancel direct debit. This company does not know what the other hand is doing.

Hi ,Go assist contacted me after I googled cooker repairs as my oven and grill weren’t igniting . They advertised a 24:48 hr repair service so although I thought the call out fee was high I needed my cooker . It was around £139 which I paid . They then sent me a text to say it would be 8 days before an engineer could look at it . I didn’t want to wait 8 days so I immediately tried to contact them to cancel . There was no way I could speak to them or even leave a message . I rang my bank to try and stop the transaction but it was pending and couldn’t be cancelled . Had to wait the 8 days for engineer to come and then a further few days for the part to come. He came today to mend the cooker , it’s been 2 weeks with no cooker and a family to feed. He’s mended it but it’s still not working efficiently as I have to depress the button for at least 20 seconds before it will light .. it’s cost me over £200 , I could have bought a new one for £300. The worst part is the fact that there is no way to contact them to complain or cancel , it’s almost a scam and I’m disgusted . Gillian Alexander

Avoid by all means, they are cunning and shameless!
Unfortunately we have chosen them via Google search and they were rated high but we discovered that they are ruthless and cunning.
We were looking for a main repair of our cooker’s fan extractor . James took all the information about the cooker but he wrote a different a model number which my wife didn’t give.
The next day we phoned for confirmation the appointment & the Go Assist staff,Phoebe, gave us an offer, either one pay off of £159,99 for repair without parts or £109 initial pay plus a warranty policy for £8.99 monthly for 12 months.
We have chosen the second offer hoping they will sort out our problem. They charged us upfront before seeing the cooker .
Their engineer visited us after few days and said that the part will be very difficult to find as it‘s an old hood extractor & he advised us to contact the office for further help.
We have been in contact with the office, spoke to Jake, for more than 2 weeks without getting any where other than they will contact us when the part is available although they knew it is not available..
So today we spoke to them & asked for cancellation and refund but they declined any. Besides from the beginning we explained to them that this is our second home and we needed to go back to our main residence because of various commitments (our medications, taking care of grandchildren) still won’t listen, just want to take our money...
We lost almost £200 without getting any returns.
They are cunning especially for elderly and advise people to avoid them by all means

We had a call from them today offering us a £20 refund as a good will for the stress we have been through?
Can any one imagine the ruthlessness of this company? They failed to do the job and canned us £109 and now offering us this ridiculous amount as a good will!
People especially elderly please be aware that they charge you up front and you would not get your money back if they could not do the job!! They have no morals or shames .

Small freezer in my Smeg fridge freezer unit stopped working. Contacted this company and had a local engineer call at my house the next day. It was found that the thermostat was faulty. Engineer ordered the part required and returned a few days later and replaced this part. Now working as it should. Really pleased with the service I received from this company and have no hesitation in recommending them
