Flew Scoot Sydney to BKK return in…
Flew Scoot Sydney to BKK return in April. I had flown previously and thought they were ok. This time I hated it, the seating is the worst. Narrow "uncomfortable" seats with little leg room. I paid more for the aisle seat but even this didn't help much, my seat light stayed on permanently, my back and neck were sore, my shoulder got bumped continuously by staff and passengers walking by because the aisle was so narrow, they squeeze so many seats in, 3,4,3 configuration,
toilet seat cover kept falling down, toilet floor was sticky. My prepaid food was tiny and disgusting. No point in even eating and no point in buying anything onboard as it's rubbish and expensive
Never flying again (economy). Id rather pay much more with another airline next time especially if the flight is more than 8 hours
Class downgrade
We have booked Scoot Plus months in advance, preselect all add-ons including Scoot Plus, followed the flight changes, did check-in online. Was at the airport 3h before… and at the gate, literally the time we were entering the plane, they informed us the plane changed and wecare downgraded to Economy with no food, no special services, nothing. We were not even able to change the flight or cancel as we had already checked-in luggage.
NO COMMUNICATION, NO EXPLANATION, just threats that if he doesn't board, we will get a no show fee. Two class downgrade just because Scoot!!!
And people this is part of Singapore Airlines on their domestic “best of the world” airport. Customers have zero value.
My recent experience with Scoot…
My recent experience with Scoot Airlines left me disappointed, not because of the airline’s safety policy itself, but because of the inconsistent and insensitive way it was applied.
My wife occasionally requires wheelchair assistance for long walking distances within airports. Before our Sydney to Singapore flight, we had paid extra for emergency exit row seats. At Sydney check-in, once staff saw the wheelchair request, our paid seats were removed immediately without meaningful discussion or any individual assessment of her actual capability. Our paid seats were allocated to other passengers.
What made the situation particularly frustrating was that on our return flight from Singapore to Sydney, we were allowed to occupy the exact same category of emergency exit row seats without any issue, despite there being no change in my wife’s physical condition.
This inconsistency gave the impression that the decision depended more on the discretion of individual staff rather than a consistently applied standard.
I fully respect airline safety rules. However, requesting airport mobility assistance should not automatically lead to assumptions that a passenger is incapable of understanding or assisting in an emergency. Many travellers request assistance simply due to long airport walking distances, fatigue, or temporary mobility limitations.
What disappointed me most was not just the loss of the seats we had paid for, but the lack of consultation and the dismissive handling of the situation.
To Scoot’s credit, their customer relations team eventually acknowledged the concerns and inconsistency I raised, although they still declined reimbursement based on their terms and conditions.
I hope Scoot reviews how frontline staff apply these policies so that passengers requesting assistance are treated with more consistency, dignity, and sensitivity in future.
Once again - cancelled flight
Once again, Scoot deserves its award for worst airline in Asia and probably in the world.
It has again simply canceled a flight from Singapore to Kuching scheduled end of June, pretending operational challenges - and simply rebooked us the next day.
Worst airline experience I've ever had
Worst airline experience I've ever had. As a matter of fact I've flown them 3 times and they are my top 3 worst experiences. Horrible customer service, always late, terrible flight attendants and they charge you for every possible thing they can. You are better off using almost anyone else.
Poor service
Poor service. Landing was terrifying, kept swaying side to side until approach on the ground.
They were even proud to announce early arrival but failed to communicate that they were prioritizing some passengers to disembark on a certain gate while others were kept waiting and had to be transferred to another gate to disembark.
Poor communication, flight attendants are rude , no sense of politeness.
We paid for extra leg room
We paid for extra leg room, and it was the passage to the toilet… all night we had people stepping over us, standing on our toes. I’ve travelled a lot and never experienced this. It was so bad!!!!
Very Poor Communication and Customer Service
Very poor experience with Scoot (TR9 Perth to Singapore, 27 March) and an equally disappointing response afterwards.
My flight was delayed to 6:15pm. I arrived 1 hour and 5 minutes before departure and joined the clearly marked Scoot check-in queue, which was already long. While we were still queueing, the counter signage was abruptly switched to AirAsia - with no announcement, no final call, and no attempt by staff to check if Scoot passengers were still in line.
By the time I reached the counter, I was told check-in had closed and that I would miss my flight, despite the fact I had arrived before the stated cut-off time and had been waiting in the correct queue the entire time.
This wasn’t just bad luck - it was poor operational handling:
- No final check-in call was made
- Signage was changed mid-queue without warning
- No staff managed or assessed the queue
- Responsibility was repeatedly deflected when assistance was urgently needed
I was even told a manager would come speak to me, but no one showed up after an extended wait.
The only saving grace was a Dnata staff member, Yeshey Lhaden (with support from supervisor Victorianne Borland), who took ownership of the situation and rebooked us onto the next flight the following morning at no additional cost. She demonstrated the level of service that was otherwise completely lacking.
What’s most disappointing is Scoot’s follow-up: after submitting a detailed complaint, I received a generic template response with no acknowledgment of the actual issues raised.
This reflects a broader problem; not just a one-off incident, but a lack of coordination, accountability, and customer care when things go wrong.
If you’re flying Scoot, don’t rely on stated check-in times or airport processes working as expected. Build in a significant buffer, because if something goes wrong, you may be left to sort it out yourself.
Une honte
Une honte. Notre vol initialement prévu vendredi à 22h a été modifié au jeudi à 14h, soit presque une journée entière d’écart, sans aucune notification claire de votre part.
No outside food or drinks
The amount of unnecessary rules is insane. No headphones for takeoff and landing, and no use of powerbanks. But the most despicable and greedy is no outside food or drinks. They actually want you to be forced to purchase their overpriced slop. This is disgusting. I suggest paying any amount of money to fly with thier competitors.
My flight was delayed for 13 hours…
My flight was delayed for 13 hours resulting me missing my connection and accomodation. The ridiculous thing is on board i try to charge my phone the flight attendant says you need to pay.
Booked seats lost after aircraft change, no refund offered
We specifically booked seats in a 2-seat row for extra comfort when travelling as two people. Shortly before departure, Scoot changed the aircraft, so our booked seats no longer existed and we lost the seating arrangement we had chosen. Despite this, Scoot refused any refund and offered no fair solution. Very disappointing experience and poor customer service.
Inflexible bookings, bad service online
I've flown with this airline before and had no problems, but this time does beat all. I bought a ticket and wanted to add another ticket to the same booking. It's pretty difficult to get thru to a live chat assistant at the best of times, but then - after all the form-filling and hassle - they will not let me add an extra flight to my booking. I asked, "Why won't you accept my money?" and I didn't even get an answer!
Formal Complaint Against Scoot – Denied Boarding Due to Check-in Failure
I am extremely disappointed with my experience flying with Scoot on 2 April 2026 (Flight TR282, Singapore to Bali), which resulted in a completely avoidable denied boarding situation due to check-in staff mishandling.
Our group of six passengers, including an elderly wheelchair-bound passenger requiring special assistance, arrived at the check-in counter on time and submitted all six passports for processing. Your staff member held all our passports for an extended period but only managed to issue three boarding passes. We were then abruptly told that the check-in counter had closed and the remaining three passengers would not be processed.
At no point were we warned that we were at risk of missing check-in. More importantly, our passports were not returned in time for us to seek help elsewhere. This meant we were effectively prevented from taking any action to resolve the situation.
This is not just poor service — it is a serious failure in duty of care. If the staff member was unable to process our group, she should have immediately called for assistance instead of allowing the situation to escalate.
As a result of this:
- Three passengers were denied boarding despite being present on time
- We incurred significant costs for last-minute replacement flights
- We experienced extreme stress and disruption while travelling for a wedding
- An elderly passenger in a wheelchair was subjected to unnecessary hardship
What is even more concerning is the complete lack of response from Scoot after we reported the incident shortly after it occurred.
I have since submitted a formal legal complaint and escalated this matter to the relevant authorities. I expect accountability, a proper investigation, and compensation for the damages caused.
This experience has been deeply distressing and has significantly impacted what should have been an important and meaningful trip. I strongly urge Scoot to review their staff training, check-in procedures, and handling of passengers requiring special assistance.
Until this is resolved, I cannot recommend flying with Scoot.
Awful experience
Awful experience.
First time flying with Scoot, and never again.
12hours flight, the temperature in the plane was so low that I got sick. And when I wanted to buy the blanked, they didn’t want to accept any of my cards. Eventually they did and they charged me 10 euros for an awful blanked that is not even warm.
Later when I wanted to buy food and water, they didn’t want the accept the same card used before to pay the blankets, and I had to pay in cash with euros.
The stuff was very rude and unprofessional and the temperature in the plane was on purpose low to make the people buy the blankets.
They also said there’s turbulence during the whole flight, while there was no turbulence, just so they can go around selling things.
The cost of the checked in bag is un proportionally high to the cost of the ticket.
Never again. I do not recommend it to anyone.
The worst airline experience I’ve ever had – avoid at all costs
Scoot is easily the worst airline I have ever flown with. I wouldn’t recommend them even to my worst enemy.
From the moment you board, the stinginess is obvious: they don’t offer even a glass of water for free. If you’re thirsty, you can only buy it with a credit card — they don’t accept debit cards or prepaid cards. The seats are ridiculously small and tight, with almost zero legroom or space for your things. It feels like they designed the cabin to make you as uncomfortable as possible.
To make things worse, one of my suitcases arrived badly damaged — a wheel was completely broken. No care, no accountability.
Terrible company, terrible service, terrible value. Never flying Scoot again.
Horrible customer service
Horrible customer service. I would not recommend flying with Scoot unless you have no other choice—even if you have KrisFlyer privileges.
My complaint email received a generic, templated response that clearly did not address the issues I raised. Attempts to resolve the matter via live chat and phone were equally frustrating, with staff repeating scripted replies such as, “the system does not allow us to do anything.”
It’s difficult to accept that a multi-million dollar company is entirely constrained by its own system, with zero flexibility or willingness to consider individual circumstances.
All my interactions so far suggest that there is little intention on Scoot’s part to meaningfully improve the customer experience.
Worst Airline Ever!!
Kuching - SingaporeSoutheast Asia
If I have the choice Scoot would on the bottom of the list to fly with. Not to mention I felt being scammed for charging me Board Me First when I am already a Silver KrisFlyer member where I was already entitled for the service. I couldn’t book our multi country flights with SQ connect with Scoot on our booking, thus I had to book a separate booking from Singapore to Kuching return trip. I had no issue checking in our luggage all the way through to Kuching between Beijing to Kuching with SQ then Scoot. However, on our outbound flight to Adelaide, we had to collect our luggage and clear customs in Singapore, and recheck in again to Adelaide. I had no issue with my last trip with the same sort of booking last year. I would say this is rather a double standard for Scoot and SQ. And, one hand carry on board should be strictly enforced and no free second hand carry with free of charge should be allowed at the gate. This is very unfair for passengers such as myself who bought extra weight in advance for checkin luggage. What ashamed for SQ being the first choice airline worldwide but Scoot being the worst airline I have ever encountered.
Scoot is a very good low cost airline when travelling in Asia.
I recently had a number of flights on Scoot in SE Asia. I like them - low prices for well maintained aircraft that run mostly on time. And of course the staff ("Scootees") seem to genuinely want to ensure customers are happy. However, Scoot is less attractive if you have check-in luggage and wish to eat and have a glass of wine on board. But for a short hop between Asian cities, Scoot is good value.
