Tried to order a gift card at Joey’s

Tried to order a gift card at Joey’s. Order was accepted and charged to my credit card and then immediately reversed. I sent an email to Cashstar stating my issue, got an email the next day saying great news, they updated there system and I had 72 hours to use the same credit card to try and make my purchase again.

As per Cashstar’s request I sent follow up information to cashstar
My name, phone and order details. Let’s see what happens. Not holding my breath. Lol

I sent an email back saying why is that great news? I have to waste more time and try again to use your service. Maybe great news for your company, but not for me.

Got a return email from cashstar stating

I’m really sorry this experience wasn’t a positive one for you. Thank you for sharing your feedback.

After they reviewed what happened they apologized.

And I quote

As part of our commitment to protecting our customers, all orders go through a routine validation and security review process. Unfortunately, during this review, your order was cancelled due to a processing error.

However, they have pre-approved in our system so that you may place a new order using the exact same information without issues.

How does this help me? Bonus period is over, Mother’s Day is well passed and I never want to use their service again and even more so now after receiving their latest response.

Once again, I have been given permission to try again and spend my money with their company?

Best line ever and I quote

We understand this is not the outcome you were expecting, and we truly regret the inconvenience this situation may have caused.

I like that they recognize that this was not the outcome that I was expecting. What outcome?

You did nothing, but send a useless apology and say your company had a processing issue, sorry, and give me permission to try again and use their service.
You had a processing error and are now allowing me to use the same credit card. Why can’t I use a different credit card? Do all of my credit cards need to be pre-approved? If not then you have done nothing for me, as I could have used a different credit card from the beginning.

Anyway, I am done and hope all of the restaurants using their service rebel and understand that it is the restaurant that looks bad and loses out because they chose this gift card processing service, which in my opinion sucks.

Je souhaite être remboursé rapidement, mais il ne précise aucun délai dans leur mail et vu les avis ici, ça ne me rassure pas. Et il n'y a pas de service client français mais un numéro américain !

Extremely poor delivery timeframe

Ordered a £30 PSN gift card took 3 hours to be emailed to me. In today's day and age that is an appalling time frame for a digital give card. Other online providers are much quicker with some codes I've ordered in the past being emailed within minutes of purchase. Why are Sony even using this company ??

The Pattern of Unjustified Order Cancellations at Cashstar

I am writing this review to expose a consistent and documented pattern of behavior by Cashstar that borders on fraudulent activity. After attempting to purchase a digital product, I received the same generic, automated response that thousands of other users have reported: an immediate cancellation of the order due to failed "security checks," citing no specific or valid reasoning.

While the company claims to "protect" customers, the reality is a predatory loop that results in direct financial prejudice. In many international jurisdictions, like mine, banking and digital service taxes are applied the moment a transaction is processed. When Cashstar unilaterally cancels a legitimate transaction without cause, these taxes are not refunded by the local banks.

I have attempted to resolve this through every available channel, multiple emails, support forms, and attempted telephone contact, all to no avail. Being told that "the system reviews multiple factors" while refusing to provide manual verification for a legitimate payment is a clear evasion of commercial responsibility.

Legal precedent suggests that Terms of Service cannot override basic consumer protection laws. A company cannot accept funds, trigger non-refundable financial obligations in the user's home country, and then hide behind a "black box" algorithm to deny the service purchased.

This issue is not isolated. Based on the extensive history of complaints on platforms like Reddit, DevForum and here on Trustpilot, it is evident that this has been a recurring pattern for over more than two years. I am currently in the process of organizing and seeking legal counsel to initiate a Class Action Lawsuit against Cashstar for these systemic practices.

I demand the immediate manual verification of my transaction and the delivery of the product I paid for in good faith. A refund is an inadequate remedy that does not cover the financial damage already caused. If you value your company's remaining reputation, I suggest you fulfill the order and address this "validation" flaw that is currently defrauding a vast community of global users.

Fraudulent. They charged my card without a purchase.

Received an email saying I sent someone a gift card. I didn't. On the phone with my bank about this fraudulent transaction. I didn't click on any links in the email to be safe. Gift card went to Lucretia Verdis.

CashStar wanted my personal information to investigate. They can look into the purchaser's name. Email ends in gmail. Figure it out.

Refus de remboursement

J'ai acheté une carte cadeau sur ce site mais ai dû demander un remboursement 7 jours après. On me demande de confirmer ma demande, ce que je fais le jour même. Après cela, pas de nouvelle et pas de remboursement non plus.
Je demande des explications, on me demande de reconfirmer ma demande.
On me me fait miroiter deux fois un remboursement puis finalement non, on m'explique qu'il y a un délai de 14 jours à compter de l'achat pour demander un remboursement, et que j'ai dépassé ce délai.
Cela fait trois semaines que ça dure et j'ai beau expliquer par a + b que ma demande initiale respectait largement le délai de 14 jours, on me refuse tout remboursement.
En conclusion, service client lamentable qui vous noie de réponses contradictoires pour gagner du temps et éviter d'avoir à rendre de l'argent.

Incredibile che con tante segnalazioni su il pessimo sistema di pagamento spesso andate storte per fare l'ordine... Comunque i soldi 💸 si lo prendono. Dovrebbe essere chiusa questa piattaforma. Non va bene truffare la gente.

Stole my PlayStation gift card and shared my private info!

Stole my PlayStation gift card and shared my real name and location!

I bought a gift card but I didn’t know you couldn’t buy one for someone in a different country. I tried to get support to transfer the card to me instead then. Email support kept telling me the issue was fixed but I could never access the gift card. THEN they sent an email with my personal info (name, location, etc) to my friend! I never wanted that shared!!

I did a chat with cashstar/playstation, and they told me they needed the number, which I was never given since I didn’t redeem the gift card in the first place. They took 10 minutes for every reply and were rude, insinuating I didn’t understand. They never resolved my issue, and said I needed to talk to cashstar- which is who I was talking to!

Absolute SCAM of a company that will steal your money, give you the runaround, and will leak your personal info! I will NEVER buy a PlayStation gift card again!!

I purchased an ecard for Sephora

I purchased an ecard for Sephora. It took my money and never processed the card. Their customer service number just claims to expedite the issue and nothing gets resolved. FRAUD
