Ryanair Car Hire Arvostelua 

I booked car hire but never received the reference. They took our money. I have spent hours trying to resolve it. They say that it is my fault that I didn't pick up the car. I couldn't because without a reference, they won't give it to you! I have gone around in circles. Raised a dispute with my bank and they still won't give a refund. Do not hire a car with them!

Wir hatten einen Wagen gebucht und auch schon bezahlt. Als wir dann ankam, hatten wir eine Kreditkarte dabei aber keine PIN Nummer. Es war nicht möglich, mit American Express zu bezahlen. Es war nicht möglich, eine Debitkarte zu bezahlen. Mein bot uns aner an für 175 € Cash, die wir nicht zurückbekommen, das Auto trotzdem mitzunehmen. Nach 1 Stunde Telefonaten hin und her mit Mit der Hotlne haben wir dann einfach das Auto da stehen lassen und woanders gemietet. Surprise Cars war der Anbieter so eine Unverschämtheit hab ich noch nie erlebt. Ich kann nur so am Finger weg Rückerstattung nicht möglich der ganze Kaufpreis für acht Tage den Bach runter . Wenn ich null Sterne vergeben könnte, würde ich das tun

Mietwagenpreis ist nicht realistisch.Versicherungen kommen noch obendrauf,ist extrem teuer.lieber direkt bei der Autovermietung buchen ist sicherer.

DO NOT HIRE A CAR THROUGH RYANAIR. What a total scam. We booked and paid for an estate and were given a battered hatchback at the airport in Italy. When we complained, the rental company offered us another car that was even smaller and smashed up down one side. Not a suitable alternative. They didn’t want to know and said have half a tank of petrol and take it up with Ryanair in the UK. We said we didn’t want half a tank of petrol we wanted what we paid for or to be refunded the difference between a hatchback and an estate. Ryanair palmed me off to their 3rd party supplier who didn’t want to know! Don’t use them. They just want your money without delivering the goods. HOW is that acceptable. Disgusting behaviour. They closed the case and basically shut the door in my face. They shouldn’t be allowed to operate.

Ryan Air has changed our flight to Bergamo two weeks before we went with 2 hours but not informed Target Rent car rental about the change of the arrival time. At pickup the employee said that we were more than an hour late so no car for us and we had paid €400 and could go walking. Or pay an extra €300 for another car. I contacted Ryan Air afterwards they told me that it is between Target Rent and me. But that is not correct. I hired through Ryan Air and the flight change was not communicated to the rental company.
We will never hire through Ryan Air again.

Absolutely terrible experience. I paid €180 in advance for a rental car, but when I arrived at the rental desk in Zakynthos, they refused to hand over the car because my credit card did not work with their payment system.

I did not cancel the booking. I did not simply fail to show up. I was there, ready to collect the car, and the car was not provided to me.

Despite this, I have not received my €180 back. I have also tried to resolve the issue through XCover, but their claim system does not even provide an option that properly describes what happened.

This is extremely frustrating and completely unacceptable from a customer's perspective. You pay in advance, arrive at the rental desk, the car is not provided, and then you are left fighting just to get your money back.

My advice: think twice before renting a car through Ryanair/CarTrawler. I certainly will never use this service again, and I strongly recommend that other travellers carefully consider the risks before paying for a rental through them.

€180 paid. No car. No service. No refund.

**Very misleading insurance offer when booking a rental car**

We booked a rental car in Mallorca through Ryanair and paid approximately **€230 for the rental and the insurance offered during the booking process**.

Based on the way the insurance was presented during the booking process, we understood that we were purchasing insurance for the rental car.

Only when we arrived at the rental desk in Mallorca did we discover that this was not the case. We were told that what we had purchased through Ryanair was essentially **cancellation-related cover and not the insurance needed for the rental vehicle itself**.

We therefore had to pay approximately **€450 extra for insurance at the rental desk**.

I understand that the exact details may have been included in the small print. However, this is exactly the problem: during the booking process, the insurance was presented in a way that led us to believe that the rental car was properly insured. If it had been clearly stated that we would still need to arrange or pay for vehicle insurance separately, we would never have made the booking under these conditions.

A rental that initially appeared to cost around **€230 ended up costing us approximately €680**.

In my opinion, the insurance options and the actual level of cover should be presented much more clearly and prominently during the booking process, rather than leaving such an important distinction to the small print.

I would not use Ryanair Car Hire again after this experience.

Don’t book a car with Ryanair CARTRAWLER they took my money but when I attended the Flextogo desk in krakow they tried to get additional insurance from me for the car which had insurance already included in the booking.
When I refused to take out flextogo’s insurance they told me that I would be required to have the car cleaned before I returned it, when I asked them where it stated this in the terms of booking the representative got angry refused to give me the car. I have complained but ryanair continue to ignore me and have not refunded my payment. I have sent a complaint to the email address they have given me only for the mailbox to be full, they are a waste of time and a disgrace.
Don’t book a car through Ryanair.

Arrivée à l'agence en Grèce, leur logiciel n'a pas reconnu notre carte de crédit, qui était pourtant bien valable.
Était-ce un bug ou etait-ce volontaire???
Je trouve ce procédé très limite...
Malgré le fait que ma carte Visa comporte une assurance prevue à cet effet, nous avons tout de même dû payer une assurance de 300 euros supplémentaires.
Deuxième expérience negative.
A éviter absolument.

Recomiendo no contratar alquiler de vehículo con Ryanair Car Hire. Mejor contratar directamente con la empresa de alquiler. Para qué sirve un intermediario si se desentiende completamente cuando hay problemas? Contraté y pagué el 100% de un servicio del cual disfruté el 0% y no quisieron devolver nada del importe. Absurdo.

Unexpected £120 charge — and nobody takes responsibility

I booked car hire through Ryanair and prepaid €133. The collection time was based on my scheduled Ryanair flight arrival. When the flight was delayed, Drivalia demanded a further £120 late-pickup fee — despite the delay being caused by the Ryanair flight.

I refused to pay an additional £120 and did not take the car.

Since then, I have spent weeks trying to get a proper explanation or refund. Ryanair directed me to CarTrawler, and CarTrawler ultimately told me to deal with my bank because I had raised a chargeback.

The fundamental question — why should a customer pay £120 because the airline's flight was delayed? — has never been properly answered.

I have now had to pursue the matter through my bank and raise the wider issue with Liverpool Airport and consumer authorities.

A very disappointing experience, particularly when the booking was made through Ryanair.

Le site ryanair a rempli automatiquement le champ "conducteur principal" avec un pseudo, celui de mon compte gmail, sauf que je ne l'avais pas vu. J'ai donc été incapable de présenter une carte visa à mon nom. Au comptoir de trévise, l’infâme dame devant nous a refusé toute alternative. La seule option était de payer leur assurance supplémentaire a 252 euros, juste pour changer un nom sur un papier! on a refusé et nous sommes partis sans voiture. A ce jour j'essaie de récupérer mes 175 euros mais ça me semble un combat perdu, des voleurs qui agissent en toute impunité!

Pickup at 23.00. Was at location at 22.55. Nobody there. Call the assigned number. Nobody anwered the phone. Took a uber to get to hotel. Other day called 5 times. Nobody picked up the phone. Took an uber to the office, Contract was cancelled since I did not show up. they said I have to contact Ryanair. Contacted ryain air. Only chatbot of AI agent. They reroute you to give up. No possibility to communicate at all.

DRIVALIA ALGHERO. Solo una persona entregando coches. Una espera de más de dos horas, a pesar de haber más empleados dando vueltas por allí. Una chica de complexión obesa en el aeropuerto de Alghero, fue muy desagradable. Esta persona NO puede dedicarse a atender al público. Si hubiese estado en mi páis la hubiese denunciado. Han tardado un mes en liberar la fianza. El coche estaba sucio.

Leider kann man keine 0 Sterne vergeben. Hände weg… Geht woanders hin. Alles Abzocke. Wir sitzen gerade auf dem Flughafen in Palma und haben keinen Wagen bekommen. Der Flug hatte 2 Stunden Verspätung und so sind wir erst nach 02:00 am Stand von OK Mobil angekommen. Wir konnten kein Auto bekommen und nur noch den Auftrag stornieren, da man sonst seitens der Vermietung storniert hätte und das kostenpflichtig. Totale Abzocke… eigentlich ein Fall für „Achtung Abzocke“ ich bin nur gespannt was der Spaß uns im Endeffekt Kosten wird und wann wir unser Geld und die Kaution zurückbekommen. Aber wir haben eine gute Rechtsschutzversicherung … die wird sicher notwendig werden.

Bitte nicht über Ryanair buchen ! Wenn man auf der Ryanair Webseite einen Flug bucht, wird man gefragt, ob man nicht auch den Mietwagen dort buchen will. Alles aus einer Hand, dachte ich mir. Dann hatte der Ryanair Flug Verspätung. Bei der Buchungsbestätigung ("Ryanair Mietwagen Voucher") wird man darauf aufmerksam gemacht, dass geraten wird gleich bei der Buchung seine Flugnummer anzugeben und sich im Fall der Verspätung bei der angegeben Telefonnummer beim Abholschalter der Autofirma im Zielflughafen zu melden. Habe ich alles getan. Noch am Telefon (aus dem Flugzeug vor dem Start) sagt mir die Dame in Stansted, dass ich nach Mitternacht 100 GBP"late night fee" zahlen muss. Ich dachte an einen Scherz. Ich buche einen Flug und ein Auto bei der für mich offensichtlich gleichen Firma RYANAIR und muss dann wegen Verspätung der "eigenen" Fluglinie eine Strafe zahlen ? Wie in anderen Kommentaren erwähnt: schwierig, bis man endlich irgendwo einen Kontakt findet, bei dem man sich beschweren kann, dann wird man von einer Stelle zur anderen verwiesen: DRIVALIA in London: "Wenden Sie sich an Ryanair". Ryanair: "Wir verkaufen nur Flüge, wenden Sie sich an den Drittanbieter" (wer ist das?) - auf der Bestätigung steht groß: RYANAIR Mietwagen Voucher, also was interessiert mich ein Drittanbieter? Dann kam nämlich noch eine Firma Cartrawler ins Spiel (sind die der Drittanbieter?): " Fragen Sie bei der Fluglinie, ob Sie eine Erstattung bekommen. Wir haben keinen Einfluss auf die AGB der Mietwagenfirma" usw. Ich gebe noch nicht auf und werde mich weiter, eventuell auch über den Konsumentenschutz in Irland, beschweren.

Ho noleggiato un’auto ma quando sono arrivata a Catania ho scoperto che la mia carta di credito VISA FISICA non poteva essere accettata, perché non emessa da una banca ma da ENPAP. Essendo già arrivata sul posto con un aereo non potevo disporre di un’altra carta per cui sono stata costretta a fare una CASCO spendendo tre volte tanto. Sul sito e sulla app di Ryanair si specificava che occorreva una CARTA DI CREDITO FISICA che io possiedo. Non compaiono altre specifiche.
Ritengo non professionale e scorretto e soprattutto non trasparente il modo di comunicare di Ryanair Hire
Ho fatto un reclamo scritto al quale mi è e stato risposto che non era possibile risarcirmi in alcun modo senza fornirmi alcuna spiegazione e senza minimamente comprendere che mi hanno messo in una situazione in cui non avevo scelta.

Booked via RyanAir. Should have known better. I only chose Hertz as it was “in terminal”. Untrue. It’s only in terminal if you book directly with Hertz. For anyone else, it is a ten-minute bus ride via Terminal 2. And then a huge queue at the Hertz office. Over an hour from arrival to getting in the car. Poor service to put it mildly.
And, if you take out the excess cover insurance Hertz will tell you that you are not covered with them, they will charge £2000 to your credit card and take it in case of an accident. You then have to go through a claims process to get your money back. Another pain and another reason to never hire a car through RyanAir. Book direct.

Dopo due esperienze positive quando era ancora sotto RentalCars, avevo prenotato un’auto per Cagliari; annullato per vizi il contratto, ben prima delle 48h, sebbene la cancellazione sia gratuita, Cartrawler (la nuova società che gestisce Ryan Car hire) rimanda il rimborso per giorni, richiamandosi ai 5 giorni lavorativi (non scritti nelle condizioni e ormai superati), poi altri cinque della società gestione carta (inventati). Ho aperto procedura con PayPal… a tutt’oggi ancora niente rimborso e diversi Customer care che si contraddicono tra di loro (alcuni chiedendomi addirittura di chiudere la disputa!)
Comportamento proditorio e esecrabile ai limiti del Garante della concorrenza e del mercato, al quale mi riservo esposto. PERCHÉ RYAN PERMETTE QUESTO SOTTO IL SUO
NOME?!?
