Met at airport by charming member of staff, driven to car location (3-4km away) by really nice guy….then, insulted, time and time again by member of staff in office….rude, rude and rude again….
Rather than pay them money, got the nice man to run us back to the airport and went with rodos cars….lovely service, cheaper, and direct from the airport.
Dishonest company! AVOID IT!
Dishonest company, which we managed to denounce to the competent authorities.
They don’t have LEGAL baby seats and they want to cover that by saying that “In Greece safety belt is enough for babies”!!! When we refused to accept that they started pretending that we have offended the lady at the desk. Despite apologizing just for the sake to get the car and leave having a 9 months old tired of flight and being almost midnight, they refused to give us the car and cancelled the reservation, notwithstanding we had a baby with us.
The real reason was clear: they don’t have legal seats for babies despite pretending to and asking money for that.
Also, talking to others ready to denounce them too, they cancel reservations as they like to get about 150€ of penalty for “not completed reservation”. They are the worst. Police in Athens confirmed they have received many other complaints about them.
As we are all lawyers, we will find a way to let them pay for their complete dishonesty. For those who don’t want to start a legal fight, just DON’T RENT A CAR with them. Luckily they will get what they deserve: bankruptcy!

Auto lasciata di fretta all'aeroporto quando sono arrivata di sera. Il giorno dopo spie che si accendevano di continuo li chiamo e non rispondono scrivo messaggi WhatsApp e non rispondono faccio una chiamata WhatsApp mi risponde una ragazza e mi scrivono che è tutto ok che la macchina non ha nessun problema. Il giorno dopo prendo la nave per Naxos, l'auto si surriscalda e si ferma nel traghetto una volta scesa dal traghetto contatto un'agenzia Caldera o sunrise sul posto ma non ce n'erano, allora cerco di contattare loro insistentemente al telefono ma non rispondono invio anche dei video ma nulla. Una volta raggiunto l'hotel a Naxos faccio chiamare la proprietaria dell'hotel parlando in greco e solo allora hanno risposto che la macchina era buona Non aveva nessun problema e che io non avrei neanche potuto lasciare Santorini per dirigermi a Naxos (non c'era scritto da nessuna parte)
Durante la vacanza a Naxos la macchina mi lascia a piedi nell'entroterra e ho dovuto chiamare un meccanico che si è messo in comunicazione con loro e ho dovuto cambiare batteria, mettere l'acqua e non c'era nemmeno l'aria condizionata.
I restanti giorni a Naxos li ho vissuti con l'orrore che si fermasse nuovamente la macchina .Una volta arrivati al porto a Santorini la macchina nuovamente mi lascia sulla salita finale del Porto. Li chiamo per un soccorso ma dopo 40 minuti non si è presentato nessuno, abbiamo provato a riattivare l'auto spingendola E così siamo riusciti a raggiungere l'aeroporto restituendo la macchina 5 ore prima. Non hanno un ufficio quindi per cercare qualcuno ho dovuto farli chiamare dalla Europcar che era accanto perché loro fanno lasciare l'auto in un parcheggio senza nessuno quindi non si hanno contatti in un ufficio . Ho fatto chiamare il capo della società il responsabile e mi sono fatta portare i soldi del meccanico.

Worst rental car in 40 years
In 40 years of renting cars, this is the worst car I have ever rented. After looking it over, I thought this must be a joke. The car was old, a 2009 model with 104,000+ km. (The worker at Caldera told me it was a 2016 model, but the insurance info in the glovebox showed it was a 2009. The worker was dishonest to my face.) The gas tank was almost empty and the car was dirty. The driver’s side sun visor was not Hyundai and does not fit in the space provided. The radio was after-market add-on and did not work. The inside lamp did not work. The selector dial for climate control did not work. The outside had many scratches and had been painted over with non-standard paint. When I picked up the car, I told Caldera rental that this not normal and asked if that had any other car I could use. They said “No.” So I was obliged to use this junk car. I found Caldera through Economy Bookings which is part of Booking.com. I could understand this car if their service were a “rent-a-wreck,” where the client understood that they were getting a beat-up old car. But I was assuming I would get a normal rental car. If the policy of “Economy Bookings” is to rent out beat-up old cars, they need to specify that. If I had known, I would not have used their service. Now I do know and will not be using them in the future. If so desired, I can send photos to verify my comments.

Dishonest company. Absolutely terrible service. We waited at airport for meet and greet and could not find him for more than an hour. When we finally found him he told us he had no room to take us and asked to call the office. We called the office and they told us they cancelled our reservation because it had been more than an hour. The lady at customer service was very impolite. They left us stranded at the airport. When we went to see other car rental companies at the airport to find a different car, they all told us that Caldera always does this. DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY, EVEN IF PRICES ARE CHEAPER

I misread a link from a friend at booking.com and unfortunately booked this hotel, then same day less than 24 hours I wrote to both #Booking.com and the hotel and tried to cancel. The hotel says you can't cancel at all, even thougg it is the same day, ( a layer just told me this is a lie, the law says you can get your money back, when lessthan 24 hours. When i cancelled there was more than 3 weeks to my holiday. Also same day they charged the fully price from my card. ( not at arrival as usually) and no cancelling opportunity although I receive lot of advertisment from Booking.com in my feed saying "that you can feel secure, because you can cancel. .... The hotel didnt do anything to find others to rent the room insted of my, even though they had more than 3 weekd to do so. Then behaved very rude.and it was a hell. Finally I found out that somebody else lived in the room, and it wasnt me! Watch out for this hotel, it is very expensive and you can't cancel, without paying full price. No help nothing! This is really rude. I spend hours everyday in more than 3 weeks trying to get through to some one who can give me clear answers about my possibilities trying to save some of my many money but well Im still running into non-replys bot hat the hotel and and Booking .com I find this extreemly rude! And Im considering to hire a Lawer and sue both the hotel and Booking .com Ill never use either of them again. So watch out.
Athens car rental - Costa and team at Caldera
We used Caldera car rental at Athens airport and would definitely do so again. Costa and the team could not have been more friendly and helpful. Little things like laying on two minibuses from the airport to the rental site, rearranging the seats in the 7-seater, packing it properly and more. Sometimes car rental staff can be a bit off hand and Caldera were the opposite. Made it a stress free experience. Good value too. Five stars

Don't book with them! They took our money and cancell our booking because we ask or we can pick up day after (our flight was cancell ). We end up with no car. They hire to someone else. That's how they make money. Scam

Avoid if you want a stress free holiday!
This company advertises automatic cars through Ryanair using name Caldera. But the cars are provided by Abbycar. Not Caldera, nor Abbycar do not have automatic cars. When you arrive at reception Abbycar they just give you a manual car instead, blaming Caldera and offering to talk to to Ryanair. You left with no choice, but to drive manual.
In our case it was more complicated, because my wife was supposed to drive in Greece this time, as I am recovering from Chemo and Radiotherapy and this long awaited holiday was an important vacation for me to recover. My wife has AutoOnly licence.
I was forced to drive the car this time because issued manual instead, so only half rested/recovered this time, plus the stress at the reception desk and driving manual first time in 15 years.
The staff is oblivious to your needs - "take it or leave it" style, they obviously don't care.
Delivery back to airport was performed at maximum speeds with harsh braking, so you can see, that the staff neither care about the resourses nor the fleet of the company.
Yet to report to Ryanair, that their partners are failing...
My advice is not to book via Ryanair or other company, but book directly over the phone with the car-rental, insuring, that there are cars and terms of the spec and type you need.

Schlechter Service und komplett schlecht gewartete Fahrzeuge. Es klappert alles, warn Leuchten erscheinen und die Vermieter wollen das Fahrzeug nicht wechseln.
Vorsicht, richtig fiese Abzocke!
Wir haben im Vorfeld über billiger-mietwagen.de für 10 Tage einen Mietwagen auf Korfu gebucht. Die Buchung wurde dann nochmals über die Firma BSP Auto abgewickelt und dann an die Firma Alma Car Hire weitergegeben. Die letztendliche Firma, bei der wir den Mietwagen dann abgeholt haben war dann die Firma Megarentals (bzw. auch unter dem Namen Caldera bekannt). Es gab am Flughafen keinen Shuttle und man musste etwa 10-15 Minuten zu Fuß mit seinem ganzen Gepäck zu Megarentals laufen.
Vor Ort ging die Abzocke dann aber erst richtig los: Seltsamerweise wurde unsere Kreditkarte, mit der wir im Vorfeld bereits den Mietwagen gebucht und bezahlt haben nicht akzeptiert. D.h. wir mussten dann 150€ für 10 Tage Versicherung bezahlen, die wir anschließend nicht mehr zurückbekommen, aber die laut Vermieter alles beinhaltet und den höchsten Schutz bietet. Das war zwar ärgerlich, aber das haben wir dann so akzeptiert. Leider kam es dann tatsächlich zu einem Kleinunfall, an dem wir nicht schuld waren. Wir haben trotzdem die Polizei hinzugezogen, damit alles sachgerecht aufgenommen wurde und der Versicherung übertragen konnte. Nach der Unfallaufnahme meinte der Polizist, dass alles erledigt sei, wenn die Versicherung Bescheid weiß. Natürlich haben wir dann Megarentals informiert und die meinten, dass mit einem Unfallbericht an die Versicherung auch alles erledigt sei. Wir sind dann noch ein paar Tage mit unserem Mietwagen herumgefahren und als wir den Wagen zurückgeben wollten und schnell zum Flughafen mussten, wollte der Herr von Megarentals nochmal 150€ mit der Begründung, dass die Polizei involviert wurde. Angeblich müssten man 150€ Gebühren für die Formulare an die Polizei zahlen, was überhaupt keinen Sinn macht. In den AGBs stand auch, dass eine Gebühr von 150€ nur dann fällig wird, wenn man einen Verkehrsverstoß begeht, den wir aber nicht begangen haben. Es wurde also ausgenutzt, dass wir schnell zum Flughafen mussten und bezahlen sollen, damit wir die Insel verlassen können. Natürlich haben wir das nicht bezahlt. Es wurde dann erwähnt, dass das dann über die Vermittlungsfirma (welche auch immer? billiger-mietwagen.de oder BSP Auto?) eingezogen wird.
Zurück in Deutschland hat uns unsere Anwältin auch bestätigt, dass das ein Versuch war uns Abzuzocken und dass wir richtig gehandelt haben. Bisher wurde nichts weiter eingezogen und wir haben wir auch nichts mehr von der Firma gehört.
Deshalb Finger weg von der Firma Megarentals. Sie haben sehr intransparente Strukturen und AGBs und versuchen nach Strich und Faden abzuzocken.

Für 14 Tage gebucht über billigermietwagen.de mit Komplettversicherung, ggf. Erstattungen der Kosten in Höhe der Sicherheitsleistung. Erhalten habe ich ein Fahrzeug eine Klasse höher als gebucht. Muss ich mich nicht drüber freuen, da betr. Parksituation auf Kreta das kleinste Auto auch das beste ist. Egal. Bei Abholung der Versuch eine zusätzliche Versicherung (für die Sicherheitsleistung) anzubieten, unter Hinweis auf mein Vollversicherung ihn unterbrochen, wurde akzeptiert. Viele kleine Vorschäden am Fahrzeug, alles Kratzer und Schrammen, nur Schönheitfehler, insgesamt aber okay, wurde alle dokumentiert, von mir forografiert. Auch unter dem Fahrzeug mit Blitzlicht Bild machen!!! Bei Rückgabe wurde um das Fahrzeug herumgegangen, Tankfüllung kontrolliert und auf Beleg "all o.k." bescheinigt. Also, kein Probleme, - ich habe eigentlich nicht zu kritisieren.
Great price for service!
We rented the car for a week at Heraklion Airport. The personnel was friendly and helpful. The car was very good and clean. The check out went without issues, price is very convenient. We will use this company again if we will go back to Crete.
Appalling service
Appalling service. We were supposed to be met at Thessaloniki Airport. After an hour waiting we finally contacted Caldera but it turned out Abby Cars were the company and they didn't seem to know anything about Caldera. When we finally got to the depot the staff were helpful and the car was fine.
However, the return at Athens Airport was even worse. The written agreement said to park the car at the airport and someone would met us. I rang the Abby Cars and they said that was not the agreement and that it had to be taken to their depot. After being given an incorrect address and wasting more time we got to the depot. Despite showing them the agreement they continued to argue with us.

USB stik virkede ikke, og dermed ikke muligt at oplade smartphone der skulle bruges til navigation. Forsøgt lavet af firmaet, men uden held . Fik at vide at de ikke kunne gøre mere. Jeg lod bilen stå efter 1 eneste dag ud af 6 betalte, og ejeren grinede bare. SURT SHOW 🙁

We picked up at the Santorini airport. They did not have the car class we reserved and provided us a downgrade to a much smaller car. This in fact was a boon as getting around the small roads are much easier in a small car.
However, the car was dirty, with cigarette holes in the seats.
The transmission definitely needed attention as it did not go into reverse as expected.
We stopped at the office (sunrise car rental) in Thira in order to change our drop off location at the port.
The fellow Andonas who was attending my concern was amazingly rude and obnoxious. he saw my daughter with her legs up on the seat and went verbally crazy. In fact he ran to the car and opened the door and yelled to her put your feet down. This is not your house. I explained that my daughter has no shoes and has clean feet. He continued his yelling.
I absolutely interfered and told him he was being rude an obnoxious. He could have politely spoke to us and directly to

He continued to tell me he would take the car away from us if he sees this again.
He then for the third time tells me again. I spat back at him that he was speaking to an adult who is responsible and he was out of line.
I typically do not talk back to such bitter people as I know they have their own internal issues that cause them to behave this way. But this was an attack on my young child!
I would be weary of renting from them.
