Just joined and very excited about the experience. The onboarding process was clear and very well-explained. The web site and directories look easy to use with lots of events, products and services I'm very keen to look into. The guidance, support and networking that BBX provides, will definitely help with my business.

Broken promises, breached agreements and a deeply disappointing experience - and a threat.

I was hired as National Sales Manager for Cyprus as part of BBX's planned expansion into the Cypriot market. We agreed on a contract that included a fixed monthly salary.
From the beginning, I invested considerable time and effort into building BBX's presence in Cyprus, including developing its social media activities and trying to modernise the way the business presented itself locally. The BBX Cyprus social media channel we created, is still online to share my experience there as well.

Unfortunately, despite the ambitions communicated to me, I experienced very little meaningful support for actually establishing and developing BBX in Cyprus.
After only some weeks, BBX stopped making the agreed payments. What makes this particularly disappointing is that payment was subsequently confirmed to me on three separate occasions — yet it still did not happen. They owe me 6k Euro.

Based on my personal experience, I found the Cyprus franchise holder extremely difficult to work with, unreliable, insolent and resistant to new ideas and modern approaches. In my view, this is particularly problematic when attempting to establish a brand in a new and competitive market.

My experience with BBX has therefore been one of broken promises, failure to honour agreed commitments and a lack of responsibility towards the people expected to build the business.

I seriously question whether BBX can successfully establish itself in Cyprus with this approach.
Cyprus is a different market, and simply applying an outdated way of doing business without adapting to the local environment is unlikely to work.

A product or business concept is ultimately only as good as the people standing behind it.
Unfortunately, based on my experience, that is exactly where BBX failed.

After this post from me yesterday, I got a message from the Cyprus Franchise owner who owes me the salary. He wrote me and quoted from a "very important" BBX UK people.

Original quote:
" You have upset some very important people and I suggest you remove that post immediately…..

‘He needs to remove this or i get my recovery guy on it and he is not someone you want to play with believe me’ "

Update August 17th:
I disagree with BBX UK’s representation of the situation.
On the BBX Cyprus website, you yourselves state:
“BBX Cyprus is a trading name of BBX Exchange Ltd. Company No: 06588767.”
All the relevant connections point back to BBX UK.
BBX Cyprus itself is therefore not a separately registered company, but part of BBX Exchange - your UK company.
But that is not even the point:
Just take responsibility for what your people promise in the name of BBX and then fail to honour — wether in the UK or in Cyprus.

Great onboarding experience with Juan. Looking forward to maximising my BBX membership

I had my BBX onboarding meeting with Juan, and it was an outstanding experience from start to finish. Juan was extremely professional, knowledgeable, and patient throughout the entire session. He explained everything clearly, answered all of my questions, and made the onboarding process easy to understand.

I joined BBX several years ago to make the most of my spare capacity in my printing business. My aim then and still is to accumulate BBX funds for relatively little sterling cost to myself.

The idea being to spend those funds on marketing activities that I otherwise probably wouldn't have spent much sterling on, such as SEO improvement on my website and other website improvements to bring in more cash business. I have now spent a lot of BBX money in that direction, with I have to say questionable results in terms of success bringing new customers (which is not BBX's fault, just the nature of marketing). That's just been my choice on what to spend the money on, but there are loads of other varied spending opportunities in a whole array of markets.

My current account manager, Roger Jones is always very supportive and helpful and gives me as much work as I want. If I turn work down it's not a problem. He and all the other managers completely understand my reasons.

Overall I have no complaints about BBX. It's a good and inventive system that works for me and creates opportunities that otherwise wouldn't be there.

I won't be leaving anytime soon!

Back in 2019, I joined BBX because it was sold to me as a great way to generate extra business revenue.

To be fair, we did plenty of business through the platform and bought a few things for the company, so initially it seemed like a good idea. Over time, though, we found there was very little of real value for our business, so we simply stopped using it.

The frustrating part is that my BBX account still has a credit balance of £5,467.75, which has never been spent.

Fast forward a few years and I've now received a demand claiming I owe £2,415.49 under a director's personal guarantee, with the matter being handled by Flawless Debt Management Ltd.

I even suggested they simply deduct what they believe is owed from my existing BBX credit balance and leave the remaining balance on the account. That wasn't acceptable.

I'm now looking into the matter, but based on my own experience, I would strongly encourage anyone thinking of joining to read every clause of the agreement—especially anything relating to personal guarantees, direct debit authorities and ongoing obligations. Make sure you know exactly what you're signing.

This is just my own experience, but I certainly wouldn't sign up again.

Juan is a terrific ambassador for BBX. He made the process simple and exciting; I can't wait to get started!

I stumbled across BBX at a business event I was attending. I alway believe in a circular economy and the process of bartering for small businesses I just didn’t know it existed. The on boarding with Juan and Mark was smooth and within 24 hours of going live I made sales worth £700 BBX pounds which is great because I’ve been able to shift small moving stock and got credit I can use for PPP marketing and podcasting which I otherwise didn’t have the money for. Would highly recommend to all businesses it’s the smart way to operate.

As a small business owner, I used bbx to fill gaps in my consulting client lists, each of whom worked with me successfully for several years. I was able to find qualified suppliers in the marketing space, whom I used for logo design, copywriting and similar services.

Great support from our account manager. He has helped us maximise on the donations we had received via BBX and put us in touch with an amazing digital marketing agency who are helping us to raise the profile of our charity and our events! An amazing opportunity we would have only got through BBX! We are so grateful.

I’ve really enjoyed working with BBX so far. What stands out most is the level of support. Having someone like Dale actively promoting your business and looking for opportunities on your behalf makes a big difference.

It’s also a great platform to test new ideas and offers in a low-risk way, which has been really valuable for me as a growing business. I’ve found it straightforward to both earn and spend BBX, which keeps everything moving and makes the system work well in practice.

The networking events and seminars are another big plus, offering plenty of opportunities to connect with other businesses and learn from experienced speakers, adding even more value beyond just the trading side.

Overall, a really positive experience, and Dale has been a key part of that with his proactive and supportive approach.

Over the last few years, BBX has evolved from a simple business tool into a cornerstone of my growth strategy. The level of team support is truly unmatched; they don't just manage an account, they actively champion my brand.

Beyond the platform itself, the quality of new business and the high-calibre sponsorship opportunities they’ve funnelled my way have been game-changers. If you’re looking for a community that prioritizes your ROI as much as you do, the BBX team is the gold standard. Generally good experiance with BBX but have been let down once or twice when other BBX members changed there mind about an agreed deal.

I'm a massive fan of BBX. The concept is not only novel, but it can really help a business through hard times. I have been a member for many years, dipping in and out as in when I need it.

My account manager Rehan, is a godsend. He's taken the time to understand my business and personal preferences well enough to know what is likely to be of use to me and inform me as soon as it becomes available.

The only reason I did not give the service five out of 5 is because ultimately at the end of the day you are dealing with many businesses through BBX, and as in the real world, not all of them have lifted up to their hype.
