The high rating review is probably an advertisement. The app will display ads on your screen and will be set as your default video player without your consent. Also, You cannot uninstall this app in the usual way. You have to use a special app to uninstall all files.

Zum Videoabspielen kann ich nichts sagen, ich hatte den Player aufgrund der angepriesenen Fähigkeit installiert, von Windows auf AppleTV streamen zu können. Diese Funktion ist allerdings laut Nachfrage beim Herausgeber der Software nicht mehr verfügbar. Abgesehen davon wirkt die Titelleiste (Maximieren, Minimieren etc.) unter Win 11 wie eingefroren.

Had 0 issues with this player for a long time.
I noticed I was getting this random lag spike from average 35ms to 200ms every 10 seconds. Took me three months to find out it was 5kplayer. Watched PingPlotter no issues, open 5kplayer ping spike pattern occurs, close 5kplayer no issues. Can repeat this process multiple times. Went into resource manager and noticed 5kplayer sends and receives data. So beware.

This is a scam piece of crap trojan. I can't believe this company hasn't been shut down. Impossible to remove from my Mac.

DECEMBER 15 update: I acquired and ran Bitdefender a couple of times, restarted my computer, and it's finally gone. No longer does this player — which I had uninstalled the same day I got it but which continued to lurk invisibly on my computer — hijack my system when I open a movie file.

I used this all the time. it no longer works after the update. Every single video immediately fails to analyze. Completely useless. Uninstalled it

Terrible! My mom downloaded it because it promised something good. Now she can’t take it of her laptop and can’t she do normal stuff like OPEN THE DAMN INTERNET. It’s truly terrible.. Please how do we take it of het laptop?

I recently noticed that 5KPlayer is often running in the background, and is the highest CPU user. Why? Can't be positive news can it. Uninstalled it.

This program is crap....and you cant uninstall it

I used it always, until I updated to latest version on July 2021 and it crashes everytime I open a video now. Had to uninstall it. =(

I don't usually write reviews but I see so many negatives ones here I felt compelled to chime in. I downloaded this player out of frustration of getting various picture quality from the various known players, and not being able to get any of them to play my 4K HDR movies. This one plays them perfectly and also plays my HD movies at the same quality so I don't have to keep adjusting setting. The only thing I can't seem to find is a frame-by-frame advance. But everything else is perfect, and the sound is amazing.

I couldn't agree more with the other reviewers. this App is awful! I just downloaded it and not only did it not play the .mfx file that it advertises but it took over my MAC. All my movie icons were changed to the 5KPlayer Icon, I wasn't able to play the movie in Quicktime Player any longer. Even After Effects showed the '5KPlayer icon' for the movie instead of the 'preview image'! Then when i tried the normal ways of deleting an app it said it was 'Open' and I could not trash it. Clearly it was not open. I just found the link on their website on how to Uninstall on both PC and Mac. I had to restart my MAC before it would let me Trash the actual 5KPlayer icon from the Applications folder. Whew!! Seems sketchy when you can't easily uninstall and changes preferences without permission!

PESSIMO e, soprattutto, ATTENZIONE!

I don't know how 5KPlayer was installed on my computer, and prior to me figuring out that 5KPlayer was the problem, my computer was automatically shutting down and one of my monitors kept blinking. After IT support worked on my computer, I checked my apps and found that this app was installed the same day that I started having problems. I had a hard time uninstalling, as it loaded upon startup, and I would get a message stating "5KPlayer is running". I went to the task manager and clicked no for automatic startup and shut down the PC. That worked to get it off my system and now no shutdowns and my 3rd monitor is working fine. What a nightmare.

I use 5KPlayer to download YouTube videos and I find it pretty good. The problem with it is that when I wake my PC from sleep mode the keyboard gets frozen out and I have to do a restart. When I start my PC I have to straight away stop the 5KPlayer process in task manager or it happens again. It was happening with the mouse too but I sorted that. I uninstall 5KPlayer and everything goes back to normal. Annoying little bug.
