I could not praise heylo enough
I could not praise heylo enough. I communicated with Emma the whole way through and that lady deserves a pay rise. The whole process was so simple and would recommend it to everybody. I did this process as a single parent not knowing what I was doing and Emma made it so easy for me giving regular updates every week and helping me what to do next etc.
For anybody that can’t find a shared ownership I fully recommend Heylo.
A massive thank you. If I haven’t of found your website I would of been in a horrible position and so pleased you guys exist.

Emma has been great through the whole house purchase, and reassuring when it got a little stressful due to my buyers solicitors delaying things. Happy to have this scheme to enable me to be a home owner as a single person!

I had good experience with Your Home.
After researching several providers I decided Your Home gave me the best option.
All the staff I dealt with were helpful and responded quickly to any questions I had.
My thanks to Agnieszka, Rebecca and Emma.
They did their best to speed up the purchase and kept me up to date during the conveyancing process.
If you are considering using Your Home then you should understand exactly how it works.
In my opinion the biggest advantage with Your Home is that you can choose the type of property to buy and the location.
You are not limited to a new development or specific location.
This also means that when you buy a freehold property you can eventually own the freehold once you buy 100%.
Another huge benefit is that with a freehold property there is no service charge.
However, when you buy with You Home they own the freehold and you become the leaseholder.
Hence, I don’t think shared ownership is an accurate description of this kind of scheme.
The freehold will be transferred to you once you buy 100% but before that you are bound by the leasehold contract.
Therefore, it is important to understand the lease terms.
You should be aware that if you fail to keep with your rent payments you can end up losing the property as well the share that you own.
I imagine the same happens if someone fails to pay their mortgage.
Another factor to consider is that the rent you pay on Your Home’s share increases every April and it is tied to RPI.
So when the RPI is high your rent will increase significantly.
Unless you increase your share in the property, over the long term you could find the rent becoming unaffordable.
Everything I have said can be found on Your Home website.
If you understand what you are getting into then Your Home can be a way to buy your dream home.

Non interest based shared ownership
First of all, heylo has what I needed which is non interest based transaction, so this makes their package perfect for me.
Secondly, they are easily accessible and they are prompt on giving responses.
Their human relations is superb and I'm always happy to make make a referral to them anytime anyway.
On the other hand, considering the current economic situation, I think it will be easier for other people to climb onto the property ladder if the initial deposit/share can be a bit less.

Part Ownership with Your Home
We moved into our property with the help of ‘Your Home’ (Heylo) September 2022. We had a deposit that made it possible for Shared ownership with ‘Your Home’. Just after moving in we received a nice hamper which was a lovely touch in welcoming us into our new home; This was from Your Home. Overall YH did as best they could to make the experience of buying a pleasure. They have a panel of solicitors on the website that you can use who are qualified to handle part ownership buying of homes, although you are free to choose your own. We first looked at new builds but then found the YH side of Heylo housing who offered help to buy an existing build property of our choice rather than a new build.

I have moved from one Your Home (Heylo) to another and found Heylo very helpful with the process, giving me clear and timely information. Although the rent percentage is higher than average shared ownership, receiving 90% of their profit on sale makes up for this.

Using Heylo (Your Home) to purchase my new home
Using Heylo (Your Home) to purchase my new home was the best thing I did. It’s an excellent scheme if you cannot afford to get a full mortgage on a property. It works differently to other Shared Ownership schemes as you can buy any property on the open market as long as it’s freehold and more than a year old.
The Team I dealt with from start to finish were great. I received my agreement in principle very promptly and they were also very accommodating when my first purchase fell through. During the conveyancing process I received regular phone calls to give me valuable updates. They were more informative than my estate agent! Upon completion I received a lovely welcome to your new home food hamper as well! Highly recommended!

Great scheme if you don't want a mortgage.
This is an excellent service, especially for people wanting to buy a property without taking out a mortgage. The scheme is based on the shared ownership model but the advantage over other shared ownership schemes is that you are able to find any freehold property excluding properties less than 1 year old. All the other shared ownership schemes I have come across are for new build properties only or you would have to select only from a portfolio of properties from the company.
With Heylo's Your Home scheme, I was able to look for any property as if I was buying with a conventional mortgage.
The stair casing options are also excellent as you can buy the shared part of the property as you save.
In terms of administration of the scheme, I found the team to be excellent. Agniezka and her team were always either easy to get hold of or prompt to call back (usually within an hour or two) without needing to do endless chasing.
For anyone considering the scheme, I would encourage you to apply as the application is very easy and our agreement in principle was available within a couple of days.

This is an excellent service, ideal for those who have limited equity to purchase a property outright. Gives you the ability to buy a shared ownership property of your choice in an area that suits you, so you are not limited to new builds or houses in areas that you are not interested.
\the process from start to finish was very smooth and professional. Rebecca Alexander was outstanding at keeping us up to date and informed at every point of our purchase, I cannot recommend her highly enough.
This was the best decision we have made and took away all the worry of purchasing a property.

I was so pleased to be able to get back into the property ladder again & now live in a lovely house through the shared ownership scheme. I was lucky enough to have a deposit but I was unable to get a mortgage so this was ideal for me.

Would recommend Your Home…
We had been privately renting our home for 15 years but being an older couple, we wanted and needed permanence and to buy the home we were already renting, as our landlord was selling it. We applied through the open market scheme and thankfully ,were accepted. We did need a large deposit and we pay rent every month. They were very helpful and always able to reply to our worries and queries and it is nerve wracking waiting for the go ahead. It was a bit of a long process but were are so relieved we haven't got to keep moving. I would definitely recommend this scheme if you can get a deposit together.

Went with your move to buy a property. Good from start to finish and anytime I was concerned I knew I could rely on them to chase lawyers that were not communicating with us. Heylo gave us a lovely hamper once we had moved into the property too!
