We purchased our property alongside Heylo a few months ago, so this review is a few months in after all the hunting, paperwork, stress, excitement and unpacking; hopefully giving you a balanced insight! We purchased it using the YourHome by Heylo, which allows you to purchase any home in England. For new builds, they have a different product. The flexibility of being able to purchase a house of our choice, within the ethical and religious boundaries was a no brainer for us. As it's a joint investment, YourHome will also want to make sure they're not buying an overpriced shed, understandably. That increased us in our confidence too.

Initially, we were in contact with Ben who then later handed us over to Emma. In all honesty, we were a bit nervous to begin with as we'd seen the good reviews about Ben's service. However, Emma didn't let us down and maintained the high standard of service. Emma was always at hand when we had any questions and she didn't take long to respond. At times, I wanted to keep my questions in writing and Emma would always respond accordingly. However, at times we had to seek further clarification to our answers as perhaps I didn't word them clearly enough. YourHome did a great job of managing their side of the service too, it was all relatively smooth. A few months in and we haven't had any nasty surprises, everything is as advertised/described on their site. The only element where we don't have experience, is the staircasing element, but if that's what the initial process was like, I'm not concerned. The new home gift was also a lovely touch.

In respect to improvements, I think there needs to be a bit more support or guidance on how to manage the process with the other stakeholders during that part of the process, I mean, the estate agent and our solicitors. This isn't really YourHome's responsibility and I appreciate they wouldn't want to take on liability of this but it would be good to turn to some kind of independent forum to just gain that on the ground insight. I flicked though these reviews to pick up on others experiences.

I found it challenging to find a conveyancing solicitor, YourHome provide a list, but some of them really didn't seem to have a clue about the contractual elements. We went with Rabia Tariq who recently set herself up with Lawhive. I strongly recommend her, out of all the recommendations, she was the only one who gave us the confidence in that she knew what the legal element consisted of. Other than that, hunting for a house that you like and meeting some slimy estate agents, is just part of the process! In the end, when you find the house you love, it will all become a distant memory.
To conclude, Your home have an excellent ethical product provided through an excellent service. I would highly recommend it if you're looking to purchase your first home.

I chanced upon this company by accident and it turned out to be the best thing that could have happened. I had heard about shared ownership but only found out once I had spoken to Camilla that it was not just new build properties that were suitable for shared ownership, all the staff were so helpful at your home and I cannot recommend them enough. We are a family of three, my husband, myself and my daughter. We've recently moved into a bungalow which we purchased using the Your Home (Heylo) Scheme. We came across the scheme whilst looking for a shared ownership property. We had decided to move in together and found the scheme ideal as there are no age restrictions because you don't necessarily need a mortgage, just the deposit and then you pay rent on the remainder and also you can buy any freehold property across the country which doesn't have to be a new build. Emma Stallworthy (from Heylo) couldn't have been more helpful and nothing was too much trouble for her. I had enough money to buy half a house and due to care commitments couldn’t get a mortgage . This was the perfect solution for me with Your Home (Heylo homes). I still have lump sum invested in my home and pay a small rent on the percentage owned by Heylo . I didn’t want a new build so chose the house on the open market with a local estate agents and purchased together with Heylo . The process was helped by support from Camilla and Ben from start to finish . I’m so happy in my new home .

I have had a great experience, Camilla is so friendly and was very helpful and kept me up to date through the entire process! I was trying to find the best option for myself after a relationship breakdown and the fact I’d not be able to get a decent size mortgage on my own and came across YourHome. I liked the fact you can find any home in England to buy a shared ownership and not just on a new build. Because of this I was able to buy a house close to work and my parents. It is brilliant if you don’t want a mortgage or cheaper rent. Highly recommend! I was also sent a lovely little package of goodies when I moved in too!

Well, I am not going to say anything different to what the reviews already show here.
After 3 years of looking of a way to get on property ladder in an ethical way, which would be in line with my religious beliefs, I came across Helyo - Your Home product. I am just surprised of why they don't advertise is more widely?
Anyways - from start I communicated with Ben Kippin - such a kind, friendly, knowledgeable, and promptly responsive person. He has set very high standards for customer support, which I have rarely seen. He picks up a phone and talks directly, he responds to emails within 24 hours, and offers clear information.
While the product is a tad bit expensive from the usual mortgage - but really, for people who want to keep things ethical, there is no reason to go elsewhere when this exists.
The process took 4.5 months - more due to solicitors, vendors and intermediaries who were also involved in the process.
All in all, very happy - and hope that I will continue to receive the same support with the ongoing lease and when I staircase in future!

I cannot reccommed heylo enough, My case got given to Matt, he emailed me every week to keep me updated with how things were going. I got into my home within 3 months, which was great. The rent may be higher than other shared ownership but its worth it being able to choose a house anywhere. I would 100% go through heylo your home again.

Buying a Shared Ownership through Your Home (Heylo) was the perfect way to get on the property ladder. I was aware that you could buy a new build Shared Ownership which can be quite restricting where and what property you can purchase. But with Your Home (Heylo) you can buy any property on the open market as long it isn't a newbuild, It is a freehold and you have the money to buy your share. The process was easy and straight forward. Your Home (Heylo) couldn't have been more helpful throughout especially Agnieszka. After the financial assessment is concluded to establish what percentage and rent you can afford on a property, you can start looking, viewing and then put in an offer for your chosen home. All in all, It took 4 months from start to finish, It would have been even quicker if our solicitor and vendor hadn't held things up! If you are looking for a part buy/part rent - Shared Ownership then Your Home (Heylo) are Brilliant. Highly Recommended!
