It’s a shame about the one star reviews because we have found TMP fantastic to deal with! Jags and Lee couldn’t have been more helpful and approachable. We mostly dealt with Jags who was so friendly and helped us navigate through getting our first mortgage. We will definitely use TMP again in the future and have recommend them to friends and family. Thank you TMP!!

Luckily I don’t have to deal with this dreadful company for much longer as I was allowed to get my mortgage from another broker, they do however require all of your personal documents and information still to check income etc.
I can’t believe how condescending and rude there staff are especially Coralie, I was trying to explain that all the things they still apparently needed from me had already been uploaded and was forced to upload personal documents AGAIN…. then received emails basically stating that I’d not done it correctly even though all documents were signed off showing 100% but to save confrontation I sent again.
I definitely would stay away from this company unless you like being spoken to like a child and forced to do things over and over again.

Awful. I was forced to use Alex in 2021 and he was awful. Patronising, rude, sarcastic, delays - the list goes on. Never ever again - I like the freedom to choose my own broker. Don't touch, especially with shared ownership. He just does. not. care. Very unprofessional. Upfront fees of £500 does not help their cause, they literally are just in it for the initial fee. Thankfully I saw sense in time and am now happily settled in another property with a decent broker who has been nothing but supportive and understanding.

Absolutely brilliant from start to end. Bought my first home with my partner and TMP made everything easy for us. Massive shout out to Genadijs who was always quick to respond to any query we had and helped us through the process.

What can I say, Robyn and Holly absolutely amazing service, they have gone above and beyond to help us and support us through our move, they have been amazing, such lovely people to deal with and really care about our case. I would highly recommend using. Keep it up, fab!

Stay well away from this company!

We were pressured into using TMP for our shared ownership purchase and I have to say I would never use these people again. Due to incompetence and slow working staff our move took 5 months to complete and we paid money upfront for a rubbish service.

In future I will be sourcing my own mortgage and not use these people.

Robyn and Matt helped us with the process and I cannot recommend them enough. We got our mortgage offer today, and they made the whole process so simple for a first time buyer! Thank you so much.

I had a dreadful experience with Eric Cheatle and I would not use nor recommend the services offered. I sent my initial financial assessment off to start the process of purchasing a Shared Ownership resale property. To Eric’s credit I was emailed promptly requesting availability within 24 hours to discuss the assessment, in which I replied. A time was agreed for a call which was never received until an email was sent - over 45 minutes later.

Eric was very unprofessional on the call, he did not know what property I was referring to until I sent a further email with the relevant link. I was asked a number of questions which should have been reflected in the financial assessment sent, adding to his lack of professionalism.

My biggest issue with Eric is his forcefulness when suggesting we purchased more shares in the property, as we have more savings than the 5% asking price. When I explained that the additional funds were for house furnishings, solicitors fees, and as security funds with Covid-19, he told me that the housing association would “expect” us to buy more shares to “be less of a burden on the tax payer”. As a young, professional couple who have been working since 16 and pay taxes, I was insulted. I consider his approach to be scaremongering: I am fortunate to work in the financial services industry and have a good grasp of the mortgage process. All he is trying to do is make me purchase more shares to aide his commission. However, other first time buyers may not be as savvy.

Please be mindful when Housing Associations refers a mortgage consultant, it is in their best interests, not ours. Use a reputable mortgage broker in your area or speak directly with lenders.

We refused to use TMP when buying our new build due to how shocking even the initial consultation was with them.

Friendly start at the beginning of May 2019. Was given a recommendation very quickly by the National Sales Manager and was quickly approved for the mortgage in principle. I was provided with a mortgage product report that stated that various issues had been explained to me (which they hadn't)

The process got a bit more painful when it got to the application proper. I didn't have much of a steer as to what documentation was required or that would be acceptable to the mortgage provider. I had the impression TMP were just acting as post box. I submitted documents and then, a week later, I would get an email that the provider needed more information. I provided the required information and a week later I would get an email from TMP to say that it wasn't enough and more was required.

This kept up for a few weeks until I had a semi-meltdown because of the to-ing and fro-ing at which point the mortgage consultant explained that the mortgage provider was a very small company and responded very slowly due to the high number of applications they were dealing with. Once this was explained (and admittedly the mortgage consultant became much more responsive and also started to provide clearer explanations as to what was going on), I felt more comfortable with proceedings despite the fact that it was all so painfully slow. In all it took almost three months for the mortgage to be approved (end of July) and I almost lost the property.

In the end, the mortgage consultant was very helpful towards the final stages of the process, especially when I had a problem with my solicitors denying they had received the mortgage offer (a whole other story).

In all this was a stressful experience and my advice to TMP would be to manage applicant expectations more proactively. This was my first mortgage so I have nothing to compare it against. I don't know whether my experience was normal. I felt the £500 fee was a bit steep but I understand other mortgage brokers can be even more expensive.
