I placed 2 orders. Great prices and offers.. so I placed first order on the 3rd of July, and regrets of not purchasing some items with my first order I went back and made another order the following day on the 4th of July.
To my understanding when going through checkout I believed it would be 48hr delivery with Royal mail. Great, a few days and they will be here. How wrong I was, I received an email for both orders saying all items on both orders were needing to be out sourced from suppliers or warehouse. The email said this would take up to 5 working days and items would be dispatched then. I attempted to use their 24hr customer service team. It took 6days for them to respond to that. I have been checking regularly to see the status of my orders, at the end of last week I noticed a couple of items had changed status to being received and dispatched, while others are still awaiting to receive from our source.
As a first time buyer from this company I can honestly say I wouldn't recommend and certainly wouldn't order again from here. I have since found suppliers like cult pens and others. It has now been 18days since I placed my order and the wait continues. Will update when, and if they arrive.

Communication about order could have been better. Order was damaged in transit. Received order much later after reorder.

Edit: I received a free replacement of the colored embossing that was not to standard, so I am leaving 4 stars from 3.

I chose blind embossing for the replacement, instead of color due to problems mentioned below. I can only speak to the quality of what I received. Did the quality of color of embossing improve in general; was my order an outlier? I do not know. Blind embossing would be my choice. You decide for yourselves. A nice thing to have would be for The Online Pen to update their webste with sample images of what to expect.

Previous Review: Quality of embossing of the Papuro leather journals leaves much to be desired. I made an order for 2 embossed Papuro journals, one blind and one in gold lettering.

Whereas, Blind embossing is high quality, the color embossing, gold, is sloppy. The text is hard to read as there is not enough spacing between the letters; ink on the letters leaks out of the letter, creating a very noisy experience. In addition lettering seems glued on rather than pressed and then colored.
In case of blind embossing letters are pressed into the leather. In case colored, they are printed.

Small problem was sorted asap

Like the last two people leaving reviews, I have recently made an order (5 July), the status of which has remained at “being delivered to us” for 11 days now, and after emailing twice, due to understandable concerns, there has been no communication (despite assuring customers that emails are replied to within 24 hours). I am very worried and concerned about this. Please can you update me on my order status?

Found exactly what I’d been looking for, nobody else still had the pens I wanted.
Price was fair, confirmation was fast, delivery on time. Very happy.

Simple ordering process and the goods were delivered promptly.
What’s not to like?

Ordered mid June, received my order mid July. Paid extra for engraving on the pen but it’s that tiny I can’t even see it. Very disappointed. Also, didn’t expect to receive a pen with not ink cartridge in it? Feeling very ripped off

Great price quick delivery

In line with other reviews on here, I have paid for an order that was due to be delivered to the online pen company and then to me within 10 days. I appreciate that things may be delayed, but they are not responding to Facebook, instagram, direct emails, their website contact page, or telephone calls. The 2 phone numbers are not active. Are they scammers, gone out of business? So many points of contact and none responding is totally out of order, looks very suspicious, and certainly is not good business practice.

UPDATE: The online pen company has been in touch today.

Lily apologised and explained that they have been short staffed which has meant that they are behind with emails.

She could not have been any nicer or more apologetic.

From what I can see of their prices which are way below other suppliers, I can well imagine the volume of correspondence they receive.

All is well. They are still waiting on the supplier as they keep on to them.

I appreciate that The company responded in such a nice way and so I am updating my review to let others know.

The "hallmark of a good company" is one that treats you well when everything is sailing along nicely.

The "hallmark of the very best company" is one that continues to treat you well when problems arise.

My order is only a very small one, and yet they really went out of their way to make amends.

I have to say that the Online Pen Company has lived up to "The hallmark of "The Very Best Company,"and Lily really is an excellent ambassador for them.
