I had a letter saying that my claim…

I had a letter saying that my claim could not be paid as I had not sought prior approval. This was incorrect as prior approval had been sought.

The lady I spoke to was very helpful and quickly sorted the problem.

Having dealt with 2 or 3 health insurance companies over the past 45 years , I have NEVER come across one that is impossible to get a straight reply from nor any personal service. Different people all the time . It takes upwards of 5 days to receive a reply and I could go on. I will be cancelling this policy whenever I can

Average so far

Having been with AXA PPP for years we changed to The Exeter due to cost. The old saying you get what you pay for is true.
Dealings so far are long winded and take time. Not what you expect going privately.

Lack of urgency or customer centric behaviour

Communication is very slow, when medical intervention is required 5 days to read and respond to an email. Wow. Your peers are so much better and clearer to work with.

They take a very long time to pay out…

They take a very long time to pay out for NHS treatment. Over 3 months and only paid when I made a complaint. Even though I had messaged them number if times.
If you email them they take a long time to get back to you tends just to be thank you for your email. Difficult to get through to Customer Services.

Wonderful cover in the course of my indisposition

Wonderful cover in the course of my being treated for a fistula . I have had to have 4 operations and after the second onwards have had to have daily dressing appointments to dress a large surgical wound in my backside . All have had to be done by skilled nurses at the private hospital as there is a continual danger of infection . Recently we have moved to every other day and now once per week , .
I can understand the underwriters reluctance to give open ended cover but am a little disappointed at the apparent lack of understanding of my need to receive treatment to what is still an open wound . I am hopeful that a letter requested by the Exeter from my surgeon will enable continued cover for what is after all continued treatment /operations
( with application of anti-septic gel each time ) .
But, Whatever the insurance company has been truly wonderful
