Smart car service
I booked a service for my Smart EQ fortwo car, as it was for a small service and MOT I decided to book an as you wait appointment expecting it to be around two hours.
I arrived on time for the appointment having received an email two days earlier advising me to save time by booking the car in for its service online which I duly did, I was offered for the car to be washed and vacuumed which I declined, again to save time.
I was surprised to then be told the appointment would take around three hours.
When the technician arrived with the paperwork to sign and to collect the keys I mentioned that the car was my wife’s and that she had given up driving and as the car had a very low mileage (6250 miles) on a 2018 plate would there by any interest in purchasing it, the technician said he would contact the sales team who would come and see me to discuss, over three hours later sat in the waiting area no one from the sales team arrived.
During my time waiting at times there was unacceptable levels of noise from building work being done very close to the waiting area if I had been informed of this I would not have booked an as you wait appointment.
During the service it was picked up that the windscreen wipers front and rear needed replacing this was not communicated to me during my wait or given the opportunity for this to be rectified during the service, on returning home and opening an email it said this work had been declined, this is untrue.
While waiting I noticed my car was parked outside the showroom although I didn’t know how long it had been there, after a further ten minutes or so i asked the receptionist if it was ready and she said she would find out for me around 15/20 minutes later I got the bill, paid and left.
On returning home I read the service report which stated the tyres were Budget which to me imply cheap tyres, having recently replaced the tyres with Firestone RoadHawk tyres these are mid range tyres and not budget tyres.
The appointment lasted approximately 3 1/4 hours.
I have contacted the service department twice regarding my complaints since the service on the 15th Sept but as of today 23rd Sept have received no response.

Arrogant sales people
I rang to organise a test drive having previously bought a car there. The salesman told me it might take a few days to organise and sent me a video message including the date. We turned up and gave our names to the reception person, nothing happened for 30 minutes so I asked for him by name. Another person came after 10 more minutes, made no apology just that the car was elsewhere. I rang Mercedes Brooklands and arranged to test drive the same car 90 minutes later and have now bought that car. Pure arrogance.
