I wouldn't advise working for this agency.
While some office and call staff are really good not all are. The shifts become very minimal from when I first started and the company as a whole is very limiting to how they treat there staff as per it's unclear policies. You are a worker and that's all their clients (care homes and companies who employ them are their priority and not the staff who go in and represent them)
Carers employed come under certain protection policies due to employment laws but when it comes to being individual your a number they will penalise and replace.
I would not recomend this company to friends of other staff iv worked along side.

Newcross Healthcare is an absolute shambles from start to finish. As a parent of an identified Child In Need, NewCross were brought on board by our SS team to help support an incredibly complex and challenging situation.
The answer that NewCross provided was a number of inexperienced and poorly prepared individuals to act as childcare for our son with ADHD. If you remove the fact that at least three of the people who randomly arrived without introduction to the family, didn’t bother with an introduction to our son, didn’t take their eyes off their mobile phone and barely interacted with him, you can still go through a list of their failures.
We weren’t given notice of shifts that had been cancelled
Despite knowing we have two dogs, on three separate occasions they sent people who were either terrified of dogs or had strong religious beliefs around animals
When we had to cancel a shift for care the carer still turned up having not been notified by NewCross. They then failed to show the next week having been told that shift was cancelled
We sat as concerned and defeated parents, and listened to a regional manager make a hundred false promises about access to apps to see who was coming that week, access to notes from the carers, overnight stays to support the family.
I’ve had to remove my true feelings on our experience due to NewCross complaining.
That tells its own story.

Staff welfare at the back of Newcross priorities
I am extremely disappointed with how Newcross handles staff reimbursements. I worked a domiciliary shift on 15 December 2024, which included mileage. While I was paid for the hours worked, I have yet to receive reimbursement for the mileage. Since then, I’ve been told repeatedly that Newcross needs to confirm with the client,apparently, they’ve been unable to reach them for over a month.
I’ve called, messaged on the HFgo app, and emailed multiple times, but unless I follow up myself, I get no response or updates. This shows a complete lack of respect for staff and their welfare. It feels like Newcross only reaches out to clients when it suits them, and employee concerns like mine are ignored or dealt with little urgency.
I had to use my own money to refuel my car for that shift and have had to chase what I am owed ever since. This level of disregard for employees is unacceptable and demonstrates a lack of empathy. Staff welfare clearly isn’t a priority for Newcross.
Update 22 February 2025-Newcross has failed to provide a valid reason for not reimbursing me. My timesheet was submitted immediately after the shift, followed by an email confirming my mileage to both the payroll and workforce teams—yet I received no response or confirmation of receipt.
As of today, 22 February 2025, over two months later, Newcross still claims they are unable to reach the client to confirm my mileage. However, the same client can evidently contact Newcross to request cover staff, as shown on the HFgo app.
I have received no updates from Payroll or anyone at Newcross regarding my query. After countless follow-ups with no resolution, I have given up.
Final word for Newcross: Disgusted.

Can’t fulfill care package
New Cross are completely unable to fulfill any of their care packages.
After speaking to other parents and speaking from my own experience, this company take on more then they can handle, Their staff will openly admit this.
We’ve been using this as our appointed care provider for almost a year and have covered countless shifts, at least 1 a week after even more false promises of being able to cover the package. Due to the nature of my job I am not home for extended periods of time leaving my partner to have to do night shifts and look after our other children with a limited support network at no point have they taken this into account. They have us trapped unable to really find a solution but pray. Id highly recommend their carers - professional, knowledgeable and in most cases years of experience.
But their leadership/middle management are the complete opposite, unhelpful and not understanding, a serve lack of empathy means that they have hung us out to dry and deal with it ourselves all the while still taking the money for our package! For a care provider they are yet to manage to provide they are clearly unable to adhere to their mission statement. Providing care for our sick son is meant to alleviate stress not add to it. Sell the dream, make false promises and leave you in the dark would be a more appropriate mission statement for this company
The 2 stars are entirely there as when they do provided carers in most cases this is a vocation/lifestyle for them not a job!

Unprofessional and disorganised
I passed the first stage of the interview to work with this company. I filled all of the requirements past this stage, I did the training, and completed all of the references required. Everything was showed as completed, except the DBS check which took a really long time. After having called several times, the lady said I had to wait to receive the DBS in paper, which happened two days after the call. The references went back to being marked as "incomplete", so I tried to call them several times and wrote an email, as this whole process now was taking nearly 2 months. To my surprise, I received an email from them stating they were withdrawing my application as they "had not heard from me". After reading other reviews, I am relieved I didn't start working there as they seem highly unprofessional and disorganised.
