I have a non refundable reservation Number 1023213972-1 in MEININGER Hotel Paris Porte de Vincennes from 30 September until 4 October
I try to contact the customer service to inform that I have a problem of coming on time and I will be late and join the hostel only for one night from 3 to 4 October
But the answer was it’s not available partially cancelled even without refund
The problem that I went to the hostel only Saturday 3 October at 2pm , and I found that the hostel was cancelled my reservation without any notice and told me the hostel is fully booked and has no bed for me, and offered to refund only one night that asked for
But my issue is this refund 37 Euro will not offer me any reservation at the same day and I asked for a bed for one night not to refund my money
Finally, the director call the Police to move me away out of the Hostel

⭐ 1 Stern – Absolut enttäuschend und unprofessionell!

Wir hatten über Booking.com ein Zimmer für drei Personen gebucht und vollständig bezahlt. Meine Wiener Wohnadresse war bereits bei der Buchung sowie beim Online-Check-in am Vortag bekannt.

Am Anreisetag waren wir um 9:00 Uhr persönlich im Hotel. Uns wurde mitgeteilt, dass das Zimmer spätestens um 15:00 Uhr fertig sei und wir unser Gepäck inzwischen dort lassen könnten.

Als wir um 18:00 Uhr zurückkamen, wurde uns plötzlich das Zimmer verweigert! Begründung: Gäste mit Hauptwohnsitz in Wien dürften angeblich nicht übernachten.

Dreimal hätte man uns darauf hinweisen können – bei der Buchung, beim Online-Check-in und morgens an der Rezeption! Auch bei der Buchung war diese Hausregel für mich nicht ersichtlich.

Besonders frech war die Aussage, wir könnten doch einfach nach Hause fahren und dort schlafen. Warum ich in Wien ein Hotel buche, ist meine Privatsache!

Obwohl die AGB von MEININGER Regelungen zur Bereitstellung einer Ersatzunterkunft enthalten, wurde uns trotz ausdrücklicher Aufforderung nicht geholfen. Stattdessen standen wir zu dritt am Abend ohne Zimmer da und mussten sogar unser Gepäck selbst holen.

Glücklicherweise nahm uns ein Hotel in der Nähe kurzfristig auf – allerdings mit über 300 € Mehrkosten!

Die ursprüngliche Buchung wird zwar rückerstattet, die zusätzlichen Kosten und Unannehmlichkeiten bleiben jedoch bestehen. Eine rechtliche Prüfung behalte ich mir vor.

Eine bestätigte, bezahlte Reservierung samt Online-Check-in und persönlicher Zusage war hier offenbar nichts wert. Absolut respektloser und unprofessioneller Umgang mit Gästen! Nie wieder MEININGER!

I gave it a try, and I’d say this was the worst hostel experience of my entire life in Germany. He misunderstood things, was rude the whole time, and had a foul mouth; I was terribly sick and didn't feel safe.

I hope this prompts you to consider turning on some small lights and putting up signs about drinks ordered from the lobby downstairs—and maybe telling him not to run his mouth like that, especially at 4:00 AM when he's with his girlfriend.

Because of that, I forgot about my back brace and also stubbed and injured my little toe; they reacted angrily and used a lot of unpleasant and humiliating language for several minutes, refusing to be kind or let me speak or show them what was wrong...

I was keen to try a Meininger Hotel and to discover how the company's philosophy of hostel flexibility merged with hotel comfort translates into a stay in one of their hotels. Location is also important to this rapidly expanding company and the Meininger Hotel Edinburgh is certainly easy to get to and ideally located to explore the best of Edinburgh. My room was spacious and light with a great view across the road of the historic Donaldson Building. The facilities suited all my needs for a city break as I just wanted to be out all the time exploring Edinburgh - ensuite with shower, towels and shower gel and had wash provided and breakfast available if required. Drinks and bar snacks are also on offer at the bar but also lots of places to eat and drink locally. The hotel is in Haymarket, a few minutes' walk from the station there. It is within walking distance of the majestic St Mary's Cathedral and a bit further on is The Modern which comprises two art galleries each set within its own sculpture park and worthy of a visit.
The famous Princes Street is also within walking distance of the Meininger Hotel and strolling along this street which is in the New Town of Edinburgh visitors can enjoy fantastic views of Edinburgh Castle and other historic buildings on the ridge which is the Old Town of Edinburgh. Princes Street Gardens line one side of Princes Street and feature some famous monuments of the town including the Ross Fountain, the Floral Clock and the Scott Monument.
After sightseeing all day, I was happy to buy some food from Tesco which is close to the Meininger Hotel to take back to eat there. I could have bought food to cook in the guest kitchen but was simply too tired after walking all day to bother with anything but a quick snack slumped in front of the television in my room.
Meininger Hotel is ideal for an independent traveller like myself - reasonably priced, convenient location, ensuite bathroom and a good night's sleep. What more do I need?

Une des pires expériences hôtelières que nous ayons vécues. Personnel méprisant, odieux et totalement fermé au dialogue. Ma compagne et moi avons été expulsés alors que nous n’avons participé à aucun incident et disposions d’une réservation individuelle et indépendante.

Pire : on nous a affirmé qu’un « protocole » imposait cette décision collective. Après vérification et demandes d’explications, ce prétendu protocole ne correspond pas aux dispositions qui nous ont ensuite été opposées. Nous considérons avoir été clairement induits en erreur.

Aucun effort pour établir les responsabilités individuelles. Aucune solution. Et ensuite refus de rembourser l’hébergement que l’hôtel nous a lui-même empêchés d’utiliser.

Nous avons conservé tous les écrits et toutes les preuves. Ce dossier ne s’arrêtera pas à un simple avis : nous utiliserons désormais toutes les voies de recours juridiques et de protection des consommateurs à notre disposition pour faire valoir nos droits.

Une façon de traiter des clients que nous jugeons inadmissible et profondément irrespectueuse.

Je déconseille catégoriquement cet établissement.

Gość przydzielony do łóżka D wielokrotnie zachowywał się w sposób nieakceptowalny, tworząc wrogą atmosferę. Dokładnie 6 sierpnia 2026 r. rzuciła moją torbę z rzeczami osobistymi na podłogę w łazience i przeniosła moje rzeczy osobiste. Skonsultowałem się z panią z łóżka A, która potwierdziła, że ​​osoba z łóżka D również to zrobiła. Szybko poszedłem do recepcji i powiedziałem Susanie, co się stało. Wróciłam do Meiningera na lunch, żeby zarezerwować pokój przed powrotem do zaplanowanego dnia. Kierownik, Jakub Lis, ze mną porozmawiał i zaproponował mi pokój mieszany. I forgot my jacket in the room, and only a couple of hours after checking out, it had disappeared and was reportedly not found.

There is a clear lack of transparency regarding the cleaning service protocols and little effort from the staff to proactively contact customers about lost belongings.

The customer service response was superficial and felt rushed rather than genuinely helpful. Overall, a disappointing experience.

I would not recommend MEININGER Hote from Budapest .

We were travelling with small children and staying for less than 10 hours, so the 3:00 PM check-in time was particularly inconvenient for us. Unfortunately, I did not notice this detail carefully when making the booking, so that was partly my mistake.

What I found especially disappointing is that you have to pay extra for almost everything. Even luggage storage costs extra, and the price depends on the size of your bag.

Considering that we were only staying for less than 10 hours, I expected at least some flexibility and understanding, especially as we were travelling with small children.

Overall, I was disappointed with the experience and I don’t feel that the value for money is good. I will share more details about our experience in additional reviews.

I will leave this review everywhere that I booked through your website for a single person, but picture stated proper room with large bed. When I reached to your hotel receptionist told me to book on your site, It was a nice looking room for single person, but when the room was given to me, it was kind of a ghetto which was not even half size of the room and I paid €66 for nothing. Worst experience. It was very claustrophobic, I was in shock, travel all over the world but never had that worst experience anywhere it, was small store or trash room it wasn’t for human, I did go to reception to same person, he completely denied it. Horrible experience.

Je dis non!la courtoisie c'est très important prenez le temps de chercher et de rassurer le client qui est à l'autre bout du fil.

Das Personal hört nicht auf wünsche und die Zimmer sind sehr dreckig. Nach Anfrage auf frische Tücher, da unsere schmutzig waren, bekamen wir beim ersten Mal gesagt das sie sich darum kümmern, jedoch wurde beide Male der Boden nicht ein einziges Mal gewischt und unsere Tücher wurden liegen gelassen. Die Bettwäsche war ebenfalls nicht frisch mit fremden Haaren dran und der Boden war voller Krümel. Trotz dem Fakt, dass es für Schulklassen gedacht ist, sollte das Personal sich wenigstens ein bisschen Mühe geben, den Schülern einen sauberen Schlafplatz zu bieten.
