Whilst our villa was lovely
Whilst our villa was lovely - our experience of check in really let the company down. We received no check in information (actually we did - we got it 2 weeks after we returned from our vacation!!) but did get Cates number so could find the property. We were met with a driveway overflowing with rubbish and gardeners equipment all over the drive. There was no welcome package - indeed there was nothing left in the villa at all save one dishwasher tablet - and even the 'Toilettry packs' had no actual toiletrries in them! We have never stayed in a villa with so little in it in terms of basic ameneties - no salt, pepper, olive oil and are used to getting at least a bottle of wine left at the bare minimum! The whole experience was less than 'high end'. We had problems with the front door lock and the electric gates and were told 'yes they are tricky' whilst being locked out in 38 degree heat!! We were left no bin bags or instructions on which of the multiple bins we were supposed to use for rubbish. Our second day there the gardeners began cutting the hedges at 8am and continued all day as we tried to relax by the pool. The only reason you received 2 stars is that the villa itself was lovely but the whole check in and lack of basic necessities - really left a bad taste in our mouths. Would not recommend Lucca Appartments to others.

Thank you for sharing your feedback. We are pleased to hear that you found the villa lovely, but we are sincerely surprised and saddened by the tone of your review, as many of the points mentioned do not reflect the actual course of your stay or our daily conversations.
We would like to clarify a few important aspects:
Check-in and Information: Regarding the late receipt of our email, this seems strange to us, but we will carry out the necessary checks on our system. However, our representative Cate contacted you directly by phone prior to your arrival, providing all necessary assistance and arranging the appointment. The early arrival time originally requested to let your daughter in was subsequently not respected on your part, and the whole family arrived together at 16:30, where Cate was there to welcome you in person.
Garden Maintenance and Rubbish: Since the previous guests had vacated the property that same morning, our priority was to deliver the villa to you in excellent condition. The gardeners were finishing up their work upon your arrival. When we asked if they could return the following day so as not to disturb you, we were told that you had a busy itinerary every day and would not be at the villa; we could not have foreseen a subsequent change of plans. Regarding the rubbish, there was only one bin with cardboard from the previous guests, which we informed you would be collected the following day (and it duly was).
Amenities and Self-Catering Policy: All our properties are provided on a self-catering basis (independent holiday accommodation) and do not include ongoing hotel services. Nonetheless, to ensure a comfortable arrival, we always provide our guests with the mentioned complimentary toiletry kits in all 4 bathrooms and an initial supply of kitchen cleaning products (including bin bags left clearly visible in the mailbox), allowing guests to manage independently according to their needs during their stay. Furthermore, due to the exceptional heat at that time (38 degrees), we prefer not to leave open food products (such as oil, salt, or pepper) for obvious hygienic and preservation reasons.
Technical Issues (Door and Gate): The issue with the front door key was addressed and resolved immediately by sending a technician to the property. Regarding the electric gate, we were informed that you had the exact same model at home and we never received any notification that you were locked out, otherwise we would have intervened instantly. The remote controls simply require a 3-4 second press to operate.
Throughout your stay, we remained in continuous contact to provide tips on parking, restaurants, and general assistance, and you were even granted a late check-out. Cate explicitly asked if everything was fine upon departure, and only very minor details were mentioned, with no indication whatsoever of this level of dissatisfaction.
We are sorry that your final perception was negative, as our guests' satisfaction is our highest priority, but we believe we did everything possible to guarantee you a pleasant stay and support you at every stage.

We have used LAAV for over 10 yrs now…
We have used LAAV for over 10 yrs now and have had some really lovely stays in Lucca in various apartments throughout the city . This year we chose Casa Celeste , Mainly because of the beautiful large terrace and for the first three days we certainly enjoyed al fresco dining and living on this very pleasant terrace but on our fourth day of our weeks stay this came to a terrible end when the whole building under went renovation ! Not only immediately above us but to either side too and the stairs were continually in use by the builders with lorrys adjacent to the front door , often now left open during the day and worse still a wheelbarrow was hoisted back and fore across our bedroom windows banging and crashing laden with large breeze blocks and when I peeked out to see where the noise was coming from at 7.30 am the builders shouted at me to put my head back in fast as a wheelbarrow was on its way up ! It was ridiculous and looked incredibly unsafe , consequently no more open windows and sadly no more use of the terrace as it was from then on in covered in dust and builders rubble and totally impossible to use for the rest of our stay which was hugely disappointing, the noise inside meanwhile was horrendous as the builders were directly above us in each room and on both sides so no escape until they left at 5.30 each day .
Sadly Michele at LAAV could not have been more unhelpful and could not appreciate how the fact that Casa Celeste had turned into a dusty noisy unbearable space for over 10 hours each day had ruined our stay in Lucca .
So my advice is take care using this company because if things should go wrong they are no longer interested in their clients wellbeing and basically just shrug their shoulders and tell you that it’s not their fault offering no recompense or solutions at all .
We would like to add to our review of Casa Celeste by way of replying to Michele at LAAV and to thank him for his very prompt response on this occasion.
We are pleased to hear that the primary goal for this company is always their guests well being but as stated earlier we did not feel this at all during our stay . It is also somewhat astonishing to hear the that Michele did not feel he was informed promptly enough as our first complaint was made on the Monday morning of the builders arrival when we were visited by Michaela from LAAV with a workman who repaired our reported broken toilet seat which we noticed on arrival at the property. She actually heard the noise and saw the dust accumulation but told us that there was nothing that could be done to assist us as it was beyond her control .
To confirm also, we attended the offices of LAAV on the following Wednesday to reiterate our distress with the escalation of the building work surrounding us and we did in fact show our videos of the noise and dust experienced in this apartment to several members of staff at LAAV including Michele himself but again had the same response although he did suggest that we send him these videos and photographs by email which we did on our return.
This episode has left us extremely disappointed with the attitude from LAAV and we would suggest that it was not just an "inconvenience " but for the last three full days of our holiday a disaster which has made us loose confidence in this company .
This story just continues in a most amazing manner and whilst we were so shocked and saddened by the original behaviour from LAAV we have since been contacted by their representative Simone Cappelli after she had read our sad review, and through her kindness and gentle manner she has now completely restored our faith in this company and we can only imagine that ours was a sad unfortunate experience where we were unfortunate enough to be dealt with by unhelpful and less understanding members of their staff and which has now been rectified in a most gracious and charming manner more incumbent with the Lucca Apartments and Villas of old that we fondly remember.
Simone has offered us a return visit to lovely Lucca with the total costs of our original visit used to cover the fee and since discussing our experience with her director has also suggested that we enjoy a complementary dinner at a nearby beautiful winery , Fattoria Sardi that they sometimes work with, what a treat!
We feel very touched and grateful for this lovely offer and can safely say that it seems that a booking with LAAV is now in safe hands again .

An absolutely perfect stay from start to finish!
We stayed at the beautiful Villa Lina for a week and had the most wonderful experience. From the moment we arrived, everything exceeded our expectations. The villa was absolutely stunning, very clean, beautifully maintained, and had everything we needed for a relaxing and comfortable stay.
A special thank you to our host, Mini, who was absolutely amazing throughout our stay. She was incredibly friendly, always quick to respond to any questions we had, and went above and beyond to make sure everything was perfect. Her kindness and helpfulness really made a difference and made us feel very welcome.
We couldn't have asked for a better experience and would definitely book with the company again in the future.

Uva cottage farmhouse, near to Lucca
Wir verbrachten 2 schöne Wochen im Uva cottage farmhouse. Das Haus liegt auf einem Hügel, ein paar wenige Kilometer nordöstlich von Lucca. Es ist sehr schön renoviert mit tollen Schlafzimmern, Bädern etc. Optimal für z.B. eine Familie mit zwei größeren Kindern. Die Terrasse lädt auch zum Verweilen an und man kann die Ruhe im Olivenhain genießen.
Das Haus ist ein guter Standort, um die nördliche Toskana zu erkunden (Lucca sowieso, Pisa, Florenz, ans Meer nach Viareggio, Volterra, Siena….).
Die Betreuung durch Mini von der Agentur war perfekt. Man konnte sie immer erreichen und sie selber fragte auch immer wieder nach, ob wir was brauchen (z.B. Tips für die Umgebung),ob alles ok ist etc.
Wir würden gerne wieder zwei Wochen in diesem wunderschönen Haus verbringen.

We spent several weeks in this beautifully and thoughtfully furnished apartment during May and Juni 2026. Monica gave us a warm welcome and provided a clear and concise introducion to everything we needed to know about the apartment.
The apartment was fully equipped with everything necessary for a longer stay, and we quickly felt at home. Throughout our visit, Monica regularly shared useful information about local events and activities, as well as excellent recommendations for excursions in and around Lucca. We truly appreciated her thoughtful support, which made our stay feel warmly looked after without ever being intrusive.
The apartment was exceptionally well decorated, spotlessly clean, spacious, and ideally located. Having a secure parking space for our car in the private courtyard was another great advantage.
We would happily stay here again and can highly recommend this apartment.

Outstanding
My family of four stayed at Villa Aperitivo in June and had a fantastic stay. We absolutely loved this villa. We honestly didn’t feel the photos did it justice – it was even more beautiful in person.
We were especially grateful that all of the bedrooms had air conditioning, as Tuscany was experiencing unseasonably hot weather in early June. Having cool bedrooms made a huge difference and ensured we all slept comfortably. The rest of the villa was equally wonderful, being spacious, beautifully maintained and very well equipped. The separate laundry room also came in extremely handy. Having a washing machine and a clothes airer meant we could wash our clothes each evening, and they were dry and ready to wear again by the following day.
Filippo, the house manager, met us both on arrival and again when we departed. He was extremely welcoming and helpful, offering excellent recommendations for the local area and taking the time to explain the property’s recycling system, which we really appreciated. And gave me a great recommendation for road bike hire.
The location was perfect. The villa is only around 35–40 minutes from Pisa Airport, making the journey to and from the airport incredibly easy. It is also ideally situated for exploring the area. We loved visiting the beautiful city of Lucca, where we hired bikes and cycled around the historic city walls. There are some wonderful cafés and restaurants both on and around the walls, making it a lovely place to spend the day.
We also enjoyed trips to Pisa to see the iconic Leaning Tower, the Tuscan coast, and further afield to Siena. On our way back from Siena, we stopped in the stunning hill town of San Gimignano for an early dinner, which was one of the highlights of our holiday.
After busy days exploring, it was always a pleasure to return to the villa. The swimming pool was the perfect place to cool off in the evening, and we made great use of the barbecue, spending many warm evenings swimming, cooking and relaxing together as a family.
Another real bonus was the convenience of the local amenities. At the bottom of the lane is a small pharmacy, and just across the road is a wonderful deli selling its own olive oil, along with fresh bread, cold meats and other delicious local produce. It was perfect for picking up breakfast, lunch or supplies for a barbecue back at the villa.
Villa Aperitivo was a wonderful base for our holiday, and we made some fantastic family memories there. We wouldn’t hesitate to recommend it to others and would happily stay again in the future.

Villa Gabry låg perfekt med underbar utsikt över Lucca, mitt i en vingård med olivträd överallt samt närhet till allt shopping, stränder och sevärdheter samt autostradan. Villa Brunetta was amazing!
Villa Brunetta was amazing!! Our holiday was for the whole month of June. Because of where we were, we were able to take day trips and some overnight stays around Italy. The Villa provided beautiful landscapes and the perfect patio to enjoy coffee in the morning and apertivi in the afternoon. Monica our house manager was very friendly and helpful and gave us lots of suggestions on things to do in Lucca. My family would highly recommend Villa Brunetta!!

Vacanza perfetta
Siamo rimasti incantati da questa oasi di pace e tranquillità. L appartamento è ben curato e pulito, completo di tutto il necessario. La piscina è stata il plus per rinfrescare le calde giornate. Abbiamo adorato tutto di questo luogo in cui speriamo di tornare presto. Silvana é sempre stata a nostra disposizione, perfette le indicazioni ricevute prima dell'arrivo. Speriamo di tornare presto.

Peaceful break in Tuscany
Il Borghetto was a great place for a peaceful break in the Tuscan countryside. Everything was neat, clean and grounds well kept. Our apartment was spacious and cool. (Very hot outside!). Silvana (very good English) was in touch and provided a lot of information in the days before we travelled and remained contactable and in touch during our stay. Points to note - the pool is good but single depth throughout. Il Borghetto is several hundred metres off the main road and the road/track is rough in places, so suggest you have a car with good ground clearance - NO Ferraris!

EXCEPTIONAL!!!! From the beautifully maintained grounds and property, to the warmth and welcome of the delightful manager, Silvana, and generous owners, this entire experience far surpassed expectations. It was spotlessly clean, had everything my family and I could possibly need, and then the atmosphere... if I could bottle it I would have sent myself home a case of it!!! Having rented abroad before, I know how important it is that photos properly represent a property - in this case I couldn't take a picture that did justice to the beauty of the place. Absolutely stunning. Thank you so much for having us - we'll absolutely be back!

Villa Il Castello
We've spent 1 week in Villa Il Castello and we had an amazing time there. The view from the hill where the house is built is stunning. The garden is amazingly big and the swinmming pool is definitly an added-value to the house. Our family and especially the children had their best time in this villa.
We had some minors problems, mainly small things missing in the kitchen and quick reperations to do, that was very rapidly and directly assessed by Mini and taken care of by Moreno. The kindness of Mini and Moreno is worth highlighting! They are always happy to help and Mini gave us some very good recommendations (visits, kitchen chef, massage at home, restaurants/cafes, ...).
Thank you very much for a memorable stay.

Charming villa + peaceful setting=Tuscan dream vacation
We had the pleasure of staying at the villa at Fattoria Camigliano Wine Estate with our family of 11 persons from ages 11-80 years. The villa is exactly as pictured with large, well decorated rooms. We were greeted by
Daniela, the house manager, who made certain we were informed about the particulars of this villa.
We found the House Guest Book especially helpful in planning our trip. Through the book we connected with Cristina, who delighted us with her cooking skills and Paolo, who helped with transportation.
The pool was wonderfully refreshing! The picturesque location on a vineyard contributed to our idyllic vacation in Lucca.

Villa Ester was absolutely stunning! The property and grounds were perfect for my family! It has anything you could possible need and the location is perfection! Fillipo was amazing!
