From the very beginning of our experience right through to the end, every member of staff was absolutely fantastic.
My mother is 86 and, shall we say, can be quite a challenging customer! 😂 I took her shopping for a sofa, and Jason, Emily and Sky on the shop floor were incredibly patient, kind and helpful. On a very hot day, they even offered her water and a fan, which was such a thoughtful touch.
We then had a rather tricky situation with the sofa delivery, but Nicole and Lily from the after-sales team were incredibly professional, supportive and determined to help me find a solution.
Finally, Billy and Mark from the online delivery team went above and beyond to make sure everything went smoothly.
A huge thank you to the whole team. Exceptional customer service from start to finish — you should all be very proud of yourselves! ❤️

Jack made my visit! He was very patient. So helpful and guided me throughly as I wasn’t sure exactly what I was looking for. He helped with colour choices, moving chairs around so i could sit at a table with different ones. He went through all the different bed base options as well

I visited the Wickford branch to purchase a sofa and just wanted to give a special mention to Ricky and Louie. The service from both of them was absolutely fantastic from start to finish — so helpful, friendly and genuinely lovely people.
What made the experience even nicer was that it didn’t just feel like a sales transaction. We ended up having such a lovely chat and they both made us feel completely at ease and welcome.

5 star service with a 5 star delivery
5 star service with a 5 star delivery,
Needed a sofa quickly and was see furniture outlet on instagram, visited last Saturday. All the staff were so helpful and answered all my question enabling me to find the perfect sofa the Sonoma, I did not have much room to work with and this sofa bed is perfect.
To top that it was delivered within the week

NO REFUND WHATSOEVER
10/08/26 bought £100 coffee table in store but needed to be ordered to be delivered to Charlton SE7 8LU Furniture Outlet store ready for pick up on Saturday 15/08/26. However on 13/08/26 I needed to cancel purchase as too big for intended space. Was repeatedly refused full refund even though NOT in receipt of table. Returned to store after calling when again refused refund and spoke to manager who adamantly refused full refund. She repeatedly denied she had authority to exercise discretion even though its in PRINT on their receipt! The assistant that processed my payment lied about accurately informing about their policy and repeated the lie that policy effective from purchase but had told me BEFORE purchase effective on receipt of item. 7 days after receipt of purchase entitled to credit note ONLY. But I had not received the table when I sought my refund but they still refused a full refund. The manager told me customers were happy to have credit note valid for a year as if I needed to buy furniture for sake of it. Told her people only buy furniture they need so credit note worthless to me as I had no intention of buying from the store ever again. She egregiously suggested I take the table and re sell it. Why would I spend £100 to reap the hassle of selling the table at a LOSS if at all?!! She repeatedly reaffirmed that there was NO circumstance in which a refund would be given regardless. My only option was to accept a credit note that that robbed me of my £100 because there was nothing else I wanted from their store and extremely unlikely to with their rip off policy. Thankfully I did not GIFT them more than £100!! Why would any one buy from a store knowing there was no refund option regardless -YOU WOULDN'T and they know it and that's why they use this unfair rip off policy. DO NOT BUY FROM THIS CHAIN OF STORES UNLESS YOU ARE ABSOLUTELY CERTAIN OF THE ITEM as you will NOT get your money back REGARDLESS.

Thank you for your review. We are sorry that you were disappointed with the outcome, but we would like to clarify our policy for the benefit of anyone reading this review.
This purchase was made and paid for in store at our Charlton branch. The table was subsequently ordered for collection, and the cancellation was requested after purchase because you had determined that the table was too large for the intended space.
For all in-store purchases, our Terms & Conditions clearly state that sales are final and that customers are responsible for ensuring an item is suitable for its intended purpose.
We make this clear to every customer at three separate stages: the terms are displayed at our till points, the policy is verbally explained by a member of staff before the sale is completed, and the Terms & Conditions are then presented to the customer on screen before they are asked to sign their sales receipt.
We take these steps specifically to ensure customers have the opportunity to understand our in-store purchase and cancellation policy before agreeing to the sale.
Our terms do, however, allow a store manager, at their discretion, to accept a cancellation or return within seven days in exchange for a credit note.
This is the discretion referred to on the receipt; it does not provide discretion to issue a monetary refund for a change-of-mind purchase.
In this instance, although the reason for cancellation was that the table was too large for the intended space, the manager agreed to cancel the order and issue a credit note for the full £100 purchase value, valid for one year.
We would also like to reassure anyone reading this review that the suggestion that customers can never receive a refund “regardless” of the circumstances is not correct.
Our customers’ statutory rights are never affected.
If an item is faulty, not as described, or there are other circumstances where a customer has a statutory right to a refund or another remedy, those rights continue to apply in full.
It is also important to distinguish between in-store and online purchases.
Online purchases are subject to different Terms & Conditions and our website has a separate returns and refunds policy applicable to those purchases.
We understand that our in-store change-of-mind policy will not suit everyone, which is precisely why we take care to make the terms clear before a purchase is completed. In this case, while we could not provide the monetary refund requested for a change of mind, the customer retained the full £100 value of their purchase through the credit note issued.

Do not buy a mattress, only lasted a week
We went to the Dagenham store spoke to a member of staff regarding a king mattress who had no clue what she was doing, asked her a couple of questions which she found very difficult to answer and just made up her own understanding about the product.
We purchased this mattress expecting years of solid support, but within a months it had already gone noticeably soft in the center and the edges are collapsing when you sit on them. For a mattress at this price point (Aloe Vera King), that kind of breakdown this early is unacceptable.
I will recommend anyone looking to purchase mattress shop elsewhere.
At the point of sale I was advised the to be eligible for a return and refund not to take the plastic cover off and was not told that the mattress come with a 1 year warranty.
I previously owned a mattress that I used for 11 years with no issues, the only reason I've changed the mattress is due to purchasing a king frame.

We would like to clarify that Furniture Outlet is the retailer rather than the manufacturer of this mattress. Our Aloe Vera mattresses are made in Britain by Highgrove, a very well-established British mattress manufacturer. We have been selling these mattresses for approximately eight years and have sold tens of thousands during that time, with very few issues reported.
Having checked our records, we cannot see any emails or previous contact from you regarding the concerns with your mattress. This is disappointing to see, as we have therefore not yet been given the opportunity to investigate the issue or offer you a resolution before this review was posted.
We will always assist our customers with genuine product or customer service issues. Your mattress is covered by a warranty, and we fully recognise our responsibility as the retailer to honour that warranty where a genuine fault is identified.
