Don't waste your time! My wife and i traveled with Eurail as college students and loved it! Boy, have things ever changed, for the worse! While we could use our pass in Italy and Spain for several trips, IT REQUIRED A RESERVATION PRACTICALLY EVERY TIME! We just want to be able to hop on train, with short notice, and head to wherever we feel (like you used to be able to do). But we had to make a reservation, and PAY FOR IT, for PRACTICALLY EVERY TRIP WE WANTED TO TAKE! That may not seem like a big deal, but the app sucked, charged ridiculous fees, and was often inaccurate! That meant we, pretty much, had to go straight to a station each and every time to make a reservation, pay the ridiculous add-on fee, to go anywhere. It would be WAY easier to NOT buy the Eurail and buy individual tickets when you knew where you were going! NOT worth the price, or the HASSLE!

No matter where we travelled the process was easy and all travel went very well. No issues encountered at all.

While it’s nice to have the pass there are too many trips that say “your pass is not valid on this trip”. Also, having to pay an additional cost for seats, and sometimes a supplement, on most trains is ridiculous with the already expensive pass costs! Quite a few trips we had to manually enter the details of the train/times after finding different options on the train operators website than what was available on the eurail app. It does get somewhat confusing and needs to be more user friendly. FYI rail Europe is a great website to utilize for finding/booking seats at a much lower cost.

Do not for 1 minute believe the positive reviews, they must be sponsored or manipulated. Eurail.passes are a nightmare to use unless you enjoy spending hours trying to make a booking. Then you find various problems such as: Not available on this network / something went wrong please try later / no reservations available on your date. Or simply the app just sits down and does nothing. If you want a journey using 2 different operators just forget it. The help chat line bot is a nightmare / useless unless you are happy messing with your devices settings or can follow meaningless instructions that dont work anyway. I finished up only able to use 5 days of a 15 day pass, the only way I could book one essential trip was to go direct to the operator and pay full price or in other words pay twice for the same journey. All in all I wasted about 1,600 dollars on 2 passes. Never again. Be warned !

We caught several ICE trains. Generally speaking they were running late. We caught a lot of regional trains, although they were on time they were totally over crowded. We were stepping over people to get to first class. Not a pleasant experience.

I had long journey travelling Nordic countries. The flexi eurail pass is very practical & convienent. I can easily plan, book the ticket when I decided the day I want to have a train ride.

We had a great time riding the trains in Germany! We rode both ICE and Regional trains so we had the full experience. All the trains were comfortable, lots of legroom and space for our luggage. We highly recommend riding the rails through Europe!!

The app and process was not intuitive. I thought the costs was acceptable but the directions and clarity of the process to manage the tickets and trips was annoying. It would have been much more simple to use a single QR code for the entire trip vs having to save trips to be activated on each leg of the journey.

We had a multi day pass, visited multiple cities throughout Germany. Pass was easy to use and very flexible. Highly recommend.

Headache free travelling! It was amazing to know that Eurail's extensive coverage of European railways had us covered nearly everywhere we wanted to go. When I revisit Europe, I will definitely be revisiting Eurail's train plans!

the trip planner is very useful and convenient. the pass allowed me to have lots of flexibility and nearly every single route was covered. it was a great value

Made booking trains in germany and austria so easy even at the very last moment.

Two things went wrong. First, we met our daughter and grandson in Budapest. They bought two tickets for the tram. It was our first time there. A man got on, went straight to my daughter and asked to see her ticket. She hadn’t punched it(we’re tourists and didn’t know) and made her pay an $80. Fine. Then he got off the tram. No warning, just a ticket. He targeted tourists who don’t know the procedures. Sad.
Ss far as Eurail passed we had, we left Budapest for Hungary. We had a terrible time setting up our passes. No assistance available. Once on the train, my wife showed my ticket which was fine, but we couldn’t retrieve my wife’s ticket. We showed the conductor our receipt for the pssses, but again, she was no assistance and we had to pay full price for the ticket. I won’t use Eurail again. We were in Switzerland in September and their pass was much easier and they assisted you. I won’t purchase another Eurail pass. We come 2-3 times a year, but it’s not worth the hassle.

I booked my Eurail pass in October from Australia and when I went to use it, I thought it was a complete waste of money. I ended up paying full price instead of just the seat booking from Brussells to Paris. That train got cancelled and I ended up sitting in the isle in the club car with my daughter as there were no seats on the train with about 30 other people. And then I ended up with a fine from my Paris to Zurich part because I booked the seat in the office at Paris and they printed me a ticket and I asked if there was anything else I needed to do and they neglected to assist me in linking the seat booking to the Eurail app. So personally I think the whole the Eurail pass is a rort and shouldn't be bothered with as it cost me more in the end than just turning up and booking my seats when I was in the UK or Europe.
