Terrible experience
I arrived with my credit card in my name but couldn’t remember the pin. I ended up having to buy over priced insurance which cost me double the price of the car even though I had bought other insurance separately.
What was worse was when pricing the insurance the amount quoted was per day but that wasn’t specified. So it was only when paying I realised it was four times the amount originally quoted. I felt hoodwinked into buying it. I should have just left the car and got an uber and sunk the prepayment I made.
The car I got was grubby but I was too upset by the time I got out of there to complain.
Transfer from the airport took 30 mins before the bus even showed up.
I returned the car back a day early as i didn’t want any stress trying to get back to the airport.
Nightmare experience. I’d never go back.

• Payment Security: All deposits must be made with a physical card with at least 2 months' validity. We cannot accept virtual cards, Apple Pay, Google Pay, or cards without visible numbers.
• Exclusions: We do not accept cash or prepaid cards.

Update it is now 1st September Drivalia do not answer the phone, nor do the call back as promised trying to contact them through manage my booking on the website is a joke, to sum up once they've got your business their customer service is ZERO

If you’re delayed, they will try to scam you with a forced upgrade
I had a booking with Drivalia at Manchester airport (actually offsite in an industrial estate). My flight was delayed by around two hours. I called Drivalia before takeoff to advise them of the delay and they confirmed this had been noted in the booking.
Upon arrival, I was informed that because of the delay, “the system” had automatically cancelled my booking and there were now no cars available in the booked category. I was forced to pay a supplement of over 30GBP/day for an upgrade to another category, or be left with my family and luggage in the industrial estate to find another solution.
Several cars of the booked category, with Drivalia stickers in the windows, were visible in the car park. I was told that these were staff cars… they looked like rental cars to me.
The exact same thing happened to another lady who was on the same flight and arrived at the same time, for a different vehicle category. Clearly Drivalia policy is to run this scam whenever possible.
After returning the car, I contacted Drivalia, the booking agency and my credit card company to complain about this unfair practice and breach of contract in cancelling my booking despite being informed of the delay. I have now been informed that the upgrade fee will be refunded, a tacit acknowledgement of Drivalia’s abusive practice.
Lesson learnt: if you will be late to pick up your rental, make sure to call Drivalia and take a screenshot of the call log. If they try to scam you, complain and provide documentation, escalate to your booking agent, credit card company and car rental associations (BVRLA in the UK) if necessary. To ensure we can manage vehicle availability for all our customers, we adhere to the following policy:
Grace Period: We hold bookings for a maximum of 2 hours during branch opening hours. If you are going to be late, we ask that you notify the branch of your estimated arrival time.
Vehicle Hold: We can only hold a specific booked vehicle for a maximum of 1 hour past the booked collection time. After this point, clients may be offered an alternative vehicle category (subject to availability), and charges may apply.
Failure to Collect: Customers who fail to arrive on the day of collection are marked as a ‘No Show’ and charged up to 3 days rental. Please note that prepaid bookings are non-refundable.

No Personal Credit Card, No Rent and No Cancel
If you don't have a personal credit card, don't book with them. They will make you pay for a high price insurance to use your debit card. They don't accept corporate credit card.
If you use booking to rent to Drivalia, you will get no refund as it's your fault for not having a personal credit card.

DAYLIGHT ROBBERY – DRIVALIA MANCHESTER & BIRMINGHAM
I rented a Renault Trafic from Drivalia Manchester Airport in June/July 2026. The vehicle itself performed well, although it was handed over dirty both inside and out.
The real problems started after I returned it to Birmingham Airport on 5 July 2026 using Drivalia's out-of-hours return procedure. I deposited the keys in the drop box and took photographs of the vehicle immediately before leaving.
A few days later, I discovered that £2,500 had been taken from my card. No email. No phone call. No explanation.
After repeatedly contacting Drivalia Birmingham, Manchester and Customer Services, I was told they were alleging damage (a scratch in the rear mudguard and on the panel on which the siding door slides) Photos provided were taken in a different location from where I had parked my vehicle. However, despite taking £2,500, Drivalia has still not provided: a repair invoice; estimate; damage valuation; or a breakdown justifying the amount charged so that I can claim from my insurance provider.
More than a month later, the case remains unresolved, despite Drivalia's own portal showing that my complaint has been escalated to a Regional Area Manager.
£2,500 was taken while the supporting evidence and invoices remain missing.
MY ADVICE DO NOT RENT FROM DRIVALIA UK AS YOU WILL BE SCAMMED.

There were issues picking up the car at…
There were issues picking up the car at Manchester Airport as Divalia had problems with their credit card system and therefore was not accepting my valid credit card and therefore to hire the car they forced us to pay for the excess reduction which was more than the car hire cost.
Also to drop off the car the signage to the entrance of Divalia London Heathrow was poor.

No confías nada en esta empresa. Barato - pero después lo pagaras. Al final mi banco me daba la razón y me devolvió el dinero que me robaron. Dan coches viejos y no hacen arreglos hasta tienen que venderlo. Resulta que el coche estará lleno de daños cuando lo recibes y intentaran reclamar varias veces para el mismo rasguño. Por favor cree los miles de usuarios que cuentan su mala experiencia - hay muchas empresas. No eliges esta.
En respuesta - tenías 4 meses para resolver la situación. En cada paso yo seguía tus instrucciones. Tu respuesta siempre era lo mismo - el problema no era tuyo. Es tu modelo de negocio. Estafar un cliente todo que puede.
