Very grateful service with raf. Absolutely amazing

Car was good and the service was as expected.

There were issues picking up the car at Manchester Airport as Divalia had problems with their credit card system and therefore was not accepting my valid credit card and therefore to hire the car they forced us to pay for the excess reduction which was more than the car hire cost.

Also to drop off the car the signage to the entrance of Divalia London Heathrow was poor.

No confías nada en esta empresa. Barato - pero después lo pagaras. Al final mi banco me daba la razón y me devolvió el dinero que me robaron. Dan coches viejos y no hacen arreglos hasta tienen que venderlo. Resulta que el coche estará lleno de daños cuando lo recibes y intentaran reclamar varias veces para el mismo rasguño. Por favor cree los miles de usuarios que cuentan su mala experiencia - hay muchas empresas. No eliges esta.

En respuesta - tenías 4 meses para resolver la situación. En cada paso yo seguía tus instrucciones. Tu respuesta siempre era lo mismo - el problema no era tuyo. Es tu modelo de negocio. Estafar un cliente todo que puede.

I will not use his company again. They gave additional taxes, fees etc and cannot modify any contract as they are the middleman. I tried to phone for over an hour to confirm a shuttle bus back rocthe airport and they never answered the phone. Once arrived I heard the phone ringing with multiple employees standing around. The company is understaffed and undertrained or just lazy. They cancelled another gentleman’s contract after they didn't have his vehicle available, made him wait an hour then gave him a vehicle 2 sizes too small. When he showed frustration they cancelled his contract altogether stranding him a good distance from any car rental locations.

Overall, very poor customer service aside from the shuttle drivers who were decent although did not show up every 5-10 mins as promised; more like ecery 30 mins causing us to much later that planned.

Mr. RAHATUL ISLAM, Assistant Branch Manager at Drivalia Manchester Airport deserves another OUSTANDING commendation from my husband and me (Michael Barry & Maria Teresa WiETESKA).

For our 3- months' stay in the UL needing a rented car, he kindly advised us on how to get the best value for our car hire. We find him trustworthy, client-oriented, knowledgeable, professional in every way - going out of his way to be of service even during his off-work days. Drivalia Manchester has a gem of an assistant manager! He represents your company in a way that leaves a great impression on your clients. I think I have to start by saying the customer service over the phone was excellent. I called twice to change the booking, and both members of staff I spoke to were polite, helpful and did everything they could to accommodate me.

Unfortunately, the actual van hire experience was a completely different story.

When we collected the van, we were told that the previous renter had slept in it and left without paying. I'm not entirely sure how that's relevant to me, but I was assured that the van had therefore been "deep cleaned". Fair enough. It was 6:30am, we had a journey of just over three hours ahead of us, so we loaded up and left.

Within minutes my wife commented that the van smelled of dog. Over the next few days we discovered loose change, dirt in the storage compartments, what my daughter described as "jam" in one of the passenger door bins, and, to top it all off, a cigarette butt in the driver's door pocket. If this is what your idea of a deep clean looks like, I'd hate to see one that hadn't been cleaned. On top of that, every body panel seemed to have some form of damage. To be fair, it was all recorded on the damage sheet, but it certainly didn't inspire confidence.

Returning the van was somehow even worse.

Given the condition we received it in, I was half expecting an argument, and that's exactly what happened. A member of staff immediately pointed out damage to a wheel arch that was difficult to see, but fortunately I had the inspection sheet, which clearly showed it had already been recorded. By this point I was getting irritated, so I mentioned the filthy condition of the interior. His response was that I shouldn't have accepted the van in the first place.

Sorry, but that's not a reasonable response. I had a schedule to keep. When you're handed a vehicle that's supposedly just been deep cleaned, you don't expect to have to inspect every storage compartment with your finger looking for dirt, food residue and cigarette ends.

The conversation then took an almost comical turn. He asked if I was "Christie" (I'm not), and I noticed he was looking at a black van while we were returning a silver one. I said, "Can we start again with the right vehicle?" At that point I expected an apology.

Instead, he walked into the office, came back, and simply said the van was fine.

He then asked why I was getting annoyed. I explained that being challenged over damage I hadn't caused—despite paying an extra £130 for additional insurance—was a pretty good reason. His response was that he wasn't trying to charge me, he was "just pointing it out". If that were true, why single out that one mark and not mention any of the many other recorded ones? The reality is he had the wrong vehicle.

The conversation ended with this employee of the month telling me I was "taking the piss". At that point my wife stepped in and told me to walk away because she knew otherwise we'd still be there arguing.

It's a shame, because the people on the phones were genuinely excellent. Unfortunately, the condition of the van and the attitude we encountered when returning it completely overshadowed that positive experience.

Complete scam company! AVOID AT ALL COSTS!!!!! Flight delayed out of our control, we called to inform them the flight was delayed and to make a note on our booking. We arrived to be told our booking was cancelled as it was over 2 hours from collection time. They then said we need to pay an additional £777 on top of the £707 we paid as our car was no longer available. The worst customer service ever experience. DO NOT USE! We will be taking legal action

I rented a car in Manchester. Reserved months ago. Car get downgraded. Refunded just 4 pounds, after 4 weeks with phone calls and emails. Very slow to respond.

I have been using Drivalia for a decade, and have never been let down.

Drivalia situated off-site at Manchester airport. Good shuttle service but need to allow extra time for transport to and from airport.
Good vehicle but huge deposit of £1500 held on my credit card for up to 30 days despite quick and no issues on return.
Had booked full insurance cover through Booking.com but was told on pick-up that it wasn't recognised by Drivalia and asked to purchase more insurance. I declined and was told that I was taking a risk by driving off without it.
Can't fault the vehicle but not sure I would use the same company again,

Really cheap car hire - under £30 for one day.
no hassles - even though glad I had photographed scuffed alloy as that was not in check out details, but the check in guy noticed it (but no issues when I showed him my time stamped photo)
Did take a bit a time to gather all the info for my online prefilled check out.
Able to leave my car on road about 3 mins walk away (wanted a car with a bigger boot than mine to go to the tip).

MW23DFU When I booked I chose a Renault Clio or similar. Then when I checked in the car which came up was a Golf , ok good. But when I arrived at the Drivalia offices it was another story. As we arrived at the Manchester office which was empty except for us, the representative made us wait for half an hour because he said that we arrived early. The car was outside and ready. This never happened to us at Drivalia. The representative offered me an old MG with more than 60,000 miles on the clock and full of dents and scratches. When I complained he treated me as though he had an idiot in front of him. He confirmed that he had a Clio available but I would have to pay 10 a day more!!! I told him about 3 times that it was not what I ordered and this was a DOWNGRADE, but he ignored me and kept repeating the same thing and that is what I paid for!!!!. The suspension had something wrong as I was hearing noises from the back and the person sitting at the back felt very uncomfortable. Actually I did not use it as much as I wished. The fuel gauge was not even full. We will be back in the UK during October and might also have other trips to Italy and I am really sorry that I will consider other Companies this time around. I am disappointed because whenever we used Drivalia before we always got a good car and service. Richard Vella

Do NOT rent a vehicle from this company!! I paid in advance with Amex and when I turned up to pick the vehicle up the rude service rep Ryan was very condescending from the start. His words were you are late (by 20 mins past the hour) and the car booked was no longer available! This is despite their pick up service from Manchester airport terminal 2, having no means of contacting them! They then tried to up sell me a vehicle for 31 pounds per day and then said he would do me a great deal at 21 pounds a day! I had paid in full at 206 Canadian dollars for the week. (roughly 130 pounds) Hence I declined and he then asked me to leave the office!! I was flabbergasted and asked to speak to the manager who was conveniently sat next to him. He said he would see what he could do, he looked at the booking and then said you booked through a 3rd party so there is nothing I can do! I confirmed with him that if I had booked through Drivallia he could help me but because it was through a 3rd party he could not. He said yes this was the case! I still find this level of service disgraceful!! After an 8 hour flight to arrive to pick up a vehicle that is already paid for and get treated in this way is unacceptable! This company does not deserve customers! Please beware of this company, it is in my mind simply there to get you to its offsite office and upsell upsell upsell! I had used them a year ago and had a similar experience where they charged me for additional mileage even after they had assured me they were incorrect at the end of the rental. They still however charged my credit card for it which I disputed and got reimbursed for. I put this down to an error on Drivalia's part and accepted that sometimes these things happen. I really regret giving them the benefit of the doubt now that I have experienced their "service" for a second time!! My advise, go somewhere else!!!
