Sellers shouldn't be able to leave negative feedback in retribution. I paid the moment of sale. The seller sent me a cheaper version and not what was listed, then wanted me to pay for shipping the record back for a partial refund. I did not agree with the terms as it would have cost me for something that was not my mistake. The seller wished me a CRAPPY Thanksgiving in messages. The seller left me negative feedback on the very last possible day to do so. I used Discogs for years but I guess I will just continue with eBay from now on.

Site with so many scammers and no customer support whatsoever. If you buy anything, you'd better pray the seller is a good person because the customer support is nonexistent

Ich habe schon bei verschiedenen Händlern auf discogs bestellt. Natürlich ist der Zustand der Platten nicht immer wie beschrieben, was aber mehr an den einzelnen Händlern und nicht an discogs liegt. Der eigentliche Service von discogs liegt ja im Bereitstellen der Plattform, auf der durch die Community alle möglichen Platten eingepflegt werden, sowie dem Bereistellen des Marktplatzes, der ermöglicht die Platten von anderen Nutzern zu kaufen. Bei einem Kauf hat auch mal eine Platte gefehlt, aber hier kann man auch mit dem Händler schreiben und dieser hat mir den Kaufpreis der fehlenden Platte auch direkt erstattet.

One of the worst experiences ever. I've been waiting to become a seller for a year now. Yesterday my account was inactivated for an unknown reason despite the fact I'm regularly buying CDs. No explanation, no email. After activation I realised all my CD listed for sale are gone. I give up. I spent tons of hours with this web and lost my patience. I have enough. It seems this is run by bunch of amateurs with zero knowledge about this business and about how similar businesses work these days.

As a collector with strict grading standards, I had a negative experience with Discogs’ support after receiving a record that was not as described. Attempts to resolve a grading dispute through their system led to delays and unsatisfying communication, leaving me with little recourse as a buyer.

I found seller communication and accountability lacking, which put all the burden on me to document, prove, and push for a resolution. The process became so draining that I stopped using Discogs for major purchases and no longer trust their dispute system.

Discogs could regain trust by streamlining support, enforcing stricter standards, and providing more transparent, effective escalation for legitimate complaints. If you demand consistent quality and problem resolution as a buyer, be prepared for frustration and keep thorough transaction records.

Llevo más de veinte años usando Discogs, y sigo creyendo que su base de datos es una de las mayores obras colectivas de Internet. Es una enciclopedia musical monumental, un archivo vivo levantado por miles de usuarios con precisión casi arqueológica. Para consultar, descubrir o perderse entre ediciones imposibles, sigue siendo un lugar fascinante.

El problema empieza cuando pasas del estudio al mercado. El marketplace lleva años en declive: errores constantes, inventarios que fallan, una app que pondría a prueba la paciencia de un santo y un soporte técnico que parece haberse retirado a meditar al bosque. Si a eso le sumamos unas comisiones del 9% —incluso sobre los gastos de envío— el resultado es más tragicómico que sostenible.

Sigo admirando Discogs como archivo musical, pero su parte comercial parece haber quedado sin druida que cuide el fuego. Si no invierten pronto en estabilidad y soporte real, muchos coleccionistas acabarán buscando refugio en otro claro del valle.

I got scammed by a seller on Discogs to the tune of €317, for a box set of Bruckner Symphonies. He has failed to send anything and claims to have contracted Coronavirus and been confined to a hospital bed. The narrative is most unlikely and there seems to be no obvious customer support or concern for fraudulent activity on their site. I am having to raise a dispute with PayPal as this is the only chance I have of getting my money back. Caveat emptor

Fees are super high these days on stuff you sell, plus packaging fees.

Was part of the Beta program for a new app. Despite voicing my concerns along with a lot of other folk, nothing was ever done and problems were never fixed. Eventually left the beta program as it was unusable and they had not repaired it in over 6 weeks rendering me unable to purchase items. I told them why I was leaving and went back to the stable release. Now we have just had that beta released as stable. Upon logging in I was forced to change my password without any reason as to why. No one is happy about it and it's clear this is nothing more than a vanity project for the owner. Looking at the history of complaints here. This company is never going to change and is never going to listen to the people who use it. I have 2 accounts, one for my business and one for my personal collection. The new format is horrid.
If there was a better option, I change to it in a heartbeat.

Seriously, Discogs is just another toxic platform where old/middle-aged men pick fights - pathetic. Users such as Simon Grigg (New Zealand) and Scott Edwards (Canada) hide behind keyboards and fake user names such as Opinder and Of-The World while dishing out abuse and cry when exposed. Account CLOSED - AVOID!

They blew up their shit with greediness... Fee here, fee there and and a very bad system to set shipping cost

Plus de 100 commandes à mon actif mais je n’ai plus confiance. Se faire escroquer par des vendeurs peu scrupuleux qui vous mettent 25€ de transport pour faire 300 bornes en standard et vous disent que ce sont des frais de gestion c'est de l’escroquerie. Aucune réaction de discogs. Jamais reçu cette ultime commande. Terminé

Das Angebot an Tonträgern ist gewaltig und Discogs hat faktisch das Monopol in diesem Bereich. Ich gehe davon aus, dass die das auch wissen und ihnen der Kundenservice egal ist. Ich habe schon viele Schallplatten und CDs bei vielen seriösen Anbietern bestellt und auch erhalten. Aber wehe es gibt Probleme irgendwelcher Art. Dann kann man sich darauf verlassen, dass Discogs nichts unternimmt. Man erhält lange gar keine Antwort und wenn ja dann eine Chatbotblabla Nachricht.

Zahlt man genug, bekommt man ordentliche Ware. Je günstiger es wird, um so wahrscheinlicher schwindet sie. Discogs hilft dann eher den Händlern. Bis heute habe ich 34 Händler geblockt.

Pessima esperienza di acquisto. Il venditore quarantacinquegiri da cui vi consiglio di stare alla larga perché trattasi di persona con disturbi mentali seri, offende in maniera volgare senza mezzi termini. Ovviamente il tutto è stato già denunciato a chi di dovere. Ma Discogs non ancora risponde quindi reputo la cosa gravissima

you must be lucky to actually recieve what you bought, sellers not caring of you and the shipments, site not having a customaer care at all. This is THE place to be scammed
