Very easy, this is the second car I have sold through Carsales, and it was even smoother this time. There were a lot less scammers tgis time around, so Carsales have been really good at stopping that. The new payment function protecting both the buyer & seller and delivering the money instantly is just fantastic.

Got the dealer to reach out and got it inspected. Just makes up a dishonest story about the price being incorrect from carsales and includes sunroof where as my exact model does not have any sunroof at all.

Very disappointed with the feature and does not work in real time with honesty. The price was reduced by more than 3k on the actual valuation and not because of faults but blaming on the fact that the data was incorrect. Pretty bad for a company that relies on customer trust and can never trust or recommend this to anyone as its just not accurate nor the customer service cared about the dealership when I called them.

Carsales made it easy to set a fair price and the new Pay through Carsales function made it really easy to transfer money on the spot, without risk.

Really had good experience and bought car thru carsales

It was the first time I have used Carsales to sell a vehicle.
Having recently retired from the finance and car industry after 45 years, I was well aware of the pitfalls of selling a vehicle privately (i.e. deception and scams), so was looking for a platform which was easy to use and trustworthy.
The "Pay through Carsales" option exceeded my expectations and worked brilliantly (i.e. even the buyer made the comment that he will be using it when he sells his existing vehicle as well now).

I found selling my car through the Carsales.com.au website and app to be a relatively easy and straightforward process overall. However, I do have some concerns and suggestions that I believe would significantly improve the experience for sellers.

One of my biggest concerns was that potential buyers were able to access my contact details through the Carsales listing and contact me directly by phone and text message outside of the website/app. For the privacy and safety of both sellers and buyers, I believe all personal contact information should remain completely private. Ideally, all communication, including messages and calls, should be handled through the Carsales platform so that neither party has to disclose their personal phone number or other contact details.

I also received a very large number of enquiries from what appeared to be low-quality or non-genuine buyers, with many simply making offers well below the advertised price. This resulted in quite a bit of wasted time responding to enquiries that were never likely to lead to a genuine sale.

It would be great if Carsales could introduce a buyer-matching or budget feature. For example, potential buyers could enter their preferred purchase price range and other requirements, similar to the way buyers currently search for vehicles. This could help connect genuine buyers with cars that actually fit their budget and requirements.

Another useful feature could be a private seller setting where the seller can enter the minimum price they would realistically accept. This figure would not be visible to potential buyers but could potentially be used by Carsales to help filter or discourage offers that are clearly unrealistic.

Overall, I found the platform easy to use, but improvements around privacy, communication and filtering genuine buyers from unrealistic or bogus enquiries would make the selling experience much safer, more efficient and less time-consuming for everyone.

Amazing service

Having correctly described the condition of the car we were selling I then received low ball offers from two dealers who had no interest in meeting the quoted value given. Overall it was apparent that eithet the quoted value was wildly off or the dealers were out to make a quick buck. Either way it was a waste of time and effort.
