As a seller I found the site easy to use to set up the ad. I liked that I could keep my phone number private. Good education and reminders of potential scams. After sale, gave a check list of steps to take to dispose of car. Sold my car with the first buyer. The place to go if you want to sell your car.

Don’t waste your time trying to sell
Don’t waste your time trying to sell. I paid almost $300 to advertise as they claimed cars similar to mine would sell within 6-8 weeks. I made sure my car was the cheapest listed on their site for a quick sale.
Two months later not one viewing. Complained and asked for a partial refund and was just told their terms and conditions don’t allow that. Just listed on Facebook marketplace for free and sold in 5 days.

This is a great site , especially the secure payment system. I had no problems with offers and final payment. Can’t say the same for some buyers though, They test the system and keep you hanging. However, I sold my car to a trustworthy guy who played the game properly

Absolutely terrible experience
Absolutely terrible experience. Not only is the advertising extremely expensive and pro-rated against the value of the sale. But it is completely littered with scammers. This platform should really read the negatives reviews regarding the security of its platform and use the money it profits into making an actual safe and secure site. These experiences and frightening and stressful, with no real follow up from carsales apart from a digital reporting process. Hopeless!

I wish I could give 0 stars. It was hundreds of dollars to sign up, a lengthy process to create a post and I had absolutely zero messages about my car. Facebook marketplace provided loads of interested buyers and is ultimately where I sold my car for a good price. Don’t waste hundreds of dollars.

Instant Offer a ridiculous waste of time.
It really felt like a typical car salesman type act. They offered $20045 for the Haval H6 based on the details provided in our carsales description. I drove 90m to Port Macquarie only for him to take a brief look and said there’s no way we can offer u $20G.
Went in to ‘talk’ to his boss and came back with $17G.
What a waste of my time. The car was as exactly described in the ad and had been fully detailed. They give u a price to get u there with absolutely no intention of honouring that price.
VERY Disappointing.

As these additional inspections were not able to be completed, the buyer was unable to fully evaluate the vehicle and provide an accurate final valuation. This meant they could not confidently proceed with the original offer. This aligns with the Instant Offer process, where vehicles may require further inspection if their condition cannot be fully assessed during the initial review.

Carsales is dinosaur don't bother with it
I had 0 enquires from carsales apart from dealers wanting to low ball me, the exact add was on Facebook and I got multiple enquires from the free Facebook ad and multiple reasonable offers. My ad rating in carsales was 93% excellent so it wasn't the ad. The car was in excellent condition with many options and extremely low Ks for the year.
I sold many cars on carsales over number of years but I think with FB market place carsales is a relic of the past don't bother wasting money on a carsales ad.

I think you’ve completely missed the point of my review. It wasn’t the frustration of no enquires from the carsales ad it was the comparison between receiving a constant flow of enquiries and offers from facebook market place and ultimately a very quick sale as opposed to the legacy carsales platform.
