Carsales works really well if you're realistic about pricing.
Quick sale because I used the Carsales recommended price guide as my asking price. The clue to a quick sale is don't be greedy. A 8 year old BMW is not a Type 31 Bugatti. I had multiple calls and offers within the first 24 hours.
Also the payment was via Carsales which was simply brilliant - instantaneous transfer of money as soon as the buyer triggered it. Takes all the risk out of the equation.

Value provided by carsales was zero compared to the charges. I received only dealers and scammers’ messages for cars. Even text messages from scammers.
I sold my car on facebook marketplace which is free listing platform and didn’t receive any scammers’ messages atleast via text.

Absolute rip off. Paid close to $400 to advertise. Add ended up 4 pages deep behind all the dealership adds. Stick to Facebook Marketplace.

The process through car sales was easy and seamless. I chose to view the car and negotiate in person, once we settled on a price I put the offer in through car sales and seller accepted. I could then proceed to provide my driver licence for verification and link to my bank account. That involved me logging into my banking app be approving a payment arrangement with car sales. That was quick and effortless then i could transfer money to my car sales wallet. Once I had sighted the sellers licence and verified and signed the registration documents I then released the funds. The seller then accepted the funds and the transaction was finished

Add set up too complicated their services were first and the vehicle second. After the first couple of days they were advising me to drop the price by $3500 when it was priced to sell and sold too the first person who looked at it. The positive aspect listed on Friday sold on Monday.

Accepting an instant offer was so easy
Accepting an instant offer was a no brainer after what a dealer offered for my trade. The difference was huge $9k.
The only downside was the time between the offer and the buyer inspection, delivery and payment which was almost 2 weeks.
