Still waiting, 40 min late so far after pre booking…..
Would appear you don’t actually book on their app, you just log the time you would like your taxi (is there a difference?!), they only look for an ‘available partner’ in your area at the actual time you have requested….. so no different than just trying to book one yourself at the time you need it….. if it’s ’peak Time’, expect to wait a long time….. I still am, 45 min and counting….. gave up at an hour.... booked an Uber, bit more expensive but at least they turn up and you actually book a car so you know exactly where it is from the point you book it..... Thanks Amber.

Pre ordered several cars for my wedding to take guests from the church to the venue. None of them turned up, leaving guests stranded, including disabled and elderly guests. Thankfully my best man sorted it.

Having use Amber cars for 10+ years we were shocked to have a driver tell us to f- off! He was abusive & aggressive. Unfortunately over the years the quality of drivers has seriously deteriorated and this is an example of unacceptable behaviour.
It's unfortunate that the polite & helpful drivers are tarred with the same brush as the rude and aggressive drivers.
Maybe Amber should start taking more interest in the drivers who represent them.

Despite having made an advanced booking for a specific time later that day for a Hospital Scan Appointmnt didn't show and 20 mins after pick up time I phoned to get the answer, 'Oh we're very busy today'.
I'd pre-booked!!!!!!!!!!! Then later the same day for a trip back home from the hospital they again got it completely wrong and cancelled the cab I had booked on the phone just a few minutes before!. The drivers and all of that side of things are good, it is THE OFFICE, The CALL HANDLERS and ADMINISTRATION; that is a GREAT CAR CRASH!
What a shame. NOT RELIABLE. At one time I thought they were okay. I remained polite during all my conversations with the company (somehow!)

Pre-booked, at a set time, for a short journey for a doctors appointment. Driver called a few minutes before to confirm destination as automated call did not state when booked. Realised it was not worth his time although I mentioned it was for an appointment, said he wouldn’t be long.
10 minutes later than time requested I called him back & he hung up on me. I called the operator & they said they would call back - they didn’t.
I had to cancel my appointment which I had waited 4 weeks to get!
Taxi then arrived just as my appointment was due so too late so gave him hell & told him his services were no longer required. No apology so I’m never using them again.

Left my grandma in the cold for half an hour on her last two journeys. She’s been badly let down resulting in her waiting in the cold.

Pre booked taxi arrived 20 mins late, no apology from driver. Then driver attempted to take us long way round until we told him not to. Poor

Car been booked at 6 am for car to be at 8 am- arrived at 8:30am.
Operators hang phone on you.
Disgusting service!!! Never using them again.

Taxi booked for 5.55am, despatched c5.50 from somewhere nearly 15 mins away and notes for driver to find house ignored so went wrong way so all in all now running late. He told me amber never despatch vehicles on time. Hopeless. Thanks amber.

App allowed me to book a return to Orpington with a text confirmation and verification through office on the day at 6pm, but come 1am pick up time oh! We don't service that area! I'd booked it for over 3 weeks inadvance with various confirmations! Ridiculous and dangerous as 2 women stuck at 1am with no cab! Never again. Ever. And control woman was rude snd horrible calling me a liar! I've proof DARLING! as that's what she kept calling me.

Taxi did not turn up where I booked it for had me walking around entire of Leeds- 3 different taxis talking to me like rubbish call the phone line rudely told taxi on the way and then hung up on me

Very poor service despite giving them a pick up time for us at the airport they only allocated the driver at the time we landed expecting us to wait 45 mins to an hour at 2.30am! Canceled them only to be called back and called ‘ a rude b**ch’ by the female operative. Don’t use this out fit - they just lie to you and then when called out insult you- absolute disgrace

You must avoid this company at all costs. I prepaid a return journey from Stansted a week before our trip. I confirmed the booking via phone twice. On the day, the car was meant to arrive at 11am. I called at 11am to check, they said the driver will be with us in 10 mins. At 11.15, I called again. This time they said in fact there's no driver assigned and someone will be with us in 10 mins. At 11.30, I called again and as if none of the previous calls happened and they said the car will be with us in 10 mins! Around 11.40, of course no one showed and I had to call an Uber in order not to miss the flight.
As I prepaid everything, they basically took the money and didn't send anyone. Their phone trick is to say someone will be with you in 10 mins so you wait and eventually call another cab not to miss your flight. One of the operators said I will be getting a refund but the others said they don't have any compensation policy even if they don't send a car. I am afraid my money went down the drain + an additional Uber cost + none the less the stress it caused on the day.

Shocking, dangerous and reckless driving .. all while in charge of a vulnerable person
Do not trust them to drive your vulnerable person as they may not be able to tell you they felt unsafe - it was the most dangerous driving i have encountered on country roads.

Pre booked car and it arrived 20mins late. Prebooked return from restaurant and driver called to say he was round the corner and wanted to pick us up 25 minutes early. This meant we only had a hour to eat three course family meal! I phoned office to extend pick and told not possible so cancelled return.

Amber cars is the worst taxi company that I have dealt with. Ambers customer service is absolutely pathetic staff have no knowledge of how to deal with situations don’t have a scooby when things go wrong. I always end up paying twice for a journey once through linked card and the other cash, then to make matters worse I have to wait for my money to be returned to me. When taking money for a service twice that is fraud. I have reported the matter to licensing and hopefully they will get the answer and money

I've just had yet another great journey with another friendly driver who was a pleasure to chat to again. I've met him about a year ago and he remembered me bless him. Thanks Amber cars once again. That's why I always choose Amber taxis first! Kerry D 😁

Not impressed with the service at all we us them regularly, no more ordered one tonight took us 5 minutes to leave so the taxi drove off which is fine ordered another one and got told it won't come till I pay the £7.20 owed for the journey took, said I didn't take a journey and If someone else got in my taxi that's not on me, said no you have to pay, I said we'll that is a sure way to loose your custom, hung up and called a better company, they are thieves and liars avoid at all costs if i could leave a zero review I would but system makes you select at least 1 star, totally wasted on this company

I'm not usually one to review taxi firms, but this was dire. I booked 2 weeks in advance for a taxi from my house to the airport with a baby car seat (as I wanted my baby to be safe on the drive). When it came to the day, the taxi turned up 40 mins late (which is poor when people are trying to make a flight) and with the oldest, dirtiest, completely dangerous baby car seat I've ever seen. I wish they'd told me in the beginning that they couldn't meet my request. We couldn't use the seat as it was from about 1950 and impossible to put our son into, so we paid for the driver's journey to the HQ on top of our fare for nothing. And we were 40 mins late. In Croatia on our holiday a taxi met us on time with a beautiful, modern baby car seat. A shame that a Leeds taxi company couldn't even do this most basic job.

I was told my fare from Gatwick to Abbeywood would be £65. The driver charged £91.
It was late and I wasn't sure what to do, so I paid. When I called the office thd next day, they said the driver had put in a receipt for £65 ,so I knew I had been conned.
I emailed the address I was given 3 times and phoned several times. I was completely ignored. I too have used them for many years. Sadly, I won't be using them again.
Now I see the other reviews, I guess I'm not surprised.
We also had to ask the driver to slow down.
