Just aweful! My fiancé and I purchase the "Big 6 Pack" on Black Friday in 2020. It seemed awesome, they advertise a good running community and nice looking medals for famous races. We were super excited to get running, and the races were schedule up to a year which added a lot of motivation. Since then it's been hell! Messages over messages asking where are the medals. You will have to fight for months and chase up after every single run if you want a chance to get what you paid for. Their products was so expensive and it brought me so much stress having to dealing with them. I'm still trying to get medals from November. Now the situation is so bad for everyone if you try to contact them you get an automatic reply that due to high service requests it take them 3 days to reply. They mention that they don't do complains via email anymore but with a newly created "complain form" (small badly design form to which they don't reply). That just tells you how bad the situation is.
Save yourself, there is plenty of much better options

Absolutely terrible company. They advertise exciting virtual runs with great merchandise such as medals and t-shirts but they just take your money and never send you the goods. When you contact them about your missing merchandise they just give excuses and lies and tell you to wait a bit longer.
This company is currently under investigation and I will never use them again.

I participated in the Guinness World of Records 10k event in september 2021, but didn’t get my medal.
I have contacted them more than 10 times and was kept telling different lies every time. Always an assurance from VR but never an outcome as promised.
I’m in multiple groups on social media with more than 400 members. They are all related to missing GWR items. People are extremely dissapointed and many have lost a lot of money.
If you ask a question on Virtual Runners Facebook, they will boot you, if your question isn’t with a lot of feel good.
I actually received my medal four and a half month AFTER the event. “Lucky” me, but I estimate that more than a thousand is waiting still.
A positive eye would merely see Virtual Runners as an absolute disgrace with zero skills in logistics, honesty, communication and decency. A negative eye would experience Virtual Runners as a scam.
Don’t waste your money. There is a big risk you will be sorry.

Back in 2019 and 2020 I participated in some runs and really enjoyed it. I actually received my medals after a few weeks and also enjoyed the facebook groups associated with the different runs.
But something went wrong in late 2020. I signed up for a challenge in november and never received my medal. I have sent many mails and always received some very kind answers, but no medal. It's a shame because it used to be a great concept with the unique Facebookgroups for each run and the nicely designed medals. However I still have a very tiny, and perhaps naive hope, that I will receive my well deserved medal.....

Signed up for 2 events and have never received a medal or refund for either event . These guys are a rip off !! Go and do the Conqueror Events instead , they never fail to deliver.

Horrible. Bad. Worst of the worst. They are very good at promising and do not deliver at all. After 3 months and many complaints… well… nothing is happening. Just automatic responses. No customer care whatsoever. BS! stay away

Money taken. No medal received. Chased. Chased. Chased. Still no medal received. Automated email responses. Very disappointing. Very poor.

Is this a scam? I have kind of given up on any hope of receiving my 10K Guinness Record Attempt medal.

I am trying to login to virtualrunners for a virtual race but the password sent doesn't even work. Tried asking for a change in password and got a server error. I think this is a ripoff! Tried contacting them and got a reply that they will get back in 72 hours.

Meanwhile they have contacted me and sorted the issue.

This company continues to blame the delay on the country of GERMANY...? Dropped the ball from day one. Still waiting for T-Shirt and medal that was ordered 3/17/21. Race was run and documented 9/18/21. nothing but the run around from V.R. for the past 4 months.. Never use this group for Virtual or Live running events.. Local T.V Stations or better business bureau would love a story like this ..

They are bad at business. They do have a good and possibly viable business structure, the problem is their delivery. They have failed to deliver thousands of medals to many participants of their events and when you add that up (simple maths of around 33GBP or 40 Euros per medal) you can see how they as an organisation are getting away with scheming off thousands of pounds off of participants.
As with other reviewers, your complaints will be deleted from their page as they know that that will impart negatively on their business, but that is not even the problem. The problem is that they will do nothing to rectify these issues.
Unfortunately, that leaves one to conclude that they are indeed running a scam.

Absolute joke of a company, there either pure conmen or just totally inept at running a business, either way do yourself a favour and stay well away.
Happy to take your money and delete comments off social media without attempting to give any customer service.
All emails sent are generic templates that do not offer any actual information or help.
Worst company I have ever had the misfortune of getting involved with.

I run their made up New York Liberty Run a month ago. Still haven't received my medal or any details in terms of their plans to ship it.

Scam! They are liars and take your money without a medal! I finished 2 runs 2 months ago but no medal so far! They keep saying to wait 2 weeks and so on. Nobody is helping with the medal delivery. They are probably the worst website and company. SCAM!

Paid for and took part in the GWR Virtual 10K this year.
Several months later I am still waiting for my medal. Tried FB messenger. Tried email. Even tried calling. Each time I am fobbed off with the same repetitive unhelpful message - it will be with you in 2 weeks!
Yet they are signing people up for new challenges and I see further complaints that they are failing people with certificates/medals and merchandise.

When people spend their time helping you secure a GWR. SHAME ON YOU !!!

Total con - they take your money and then ignore you. I've tried several times to contact them just to be ignored and told to report my missing medal via a form. Nobody responds. It's been 2 months since the event now.

As many people already reported, this company is totally a scam. They will never send your medal. I have already reported this website as a scam through Google. If you also want to report this scam company. You can search Google scam website reports or report in econsumer.gov. This company is the worst!!!

I signed up for the VirtualRunners Guinness World Record 10K. The running portal was easy enough to synchronise with my Garmin account but thats where it stopped. I never received my medal and despite constant emails I was fobbed off each time, told to wait and even given ‘tracking’ details that weren’t even for my address. The whole thing stinks of a scam. Eventually I demanded a refund- luckily i had booked through another company, not directly, so they initiated the refund. I will NEVER use VirtualRunners again and would NEVER recommend them.

Absolute rubbish. Like others, my son's t-shirt and medal never arrived despite multiple complaints. Their excuses don't even make sense and they refuse to refund my money. Total scam. Very upsetting for my three-year-old who was so excited about doing the 500m race and was looking forward to receiving his medal. Disgusting.

This is a scam. Six weeks past the event, and they never shipped me the medal or certificate I paid for. They won't answer my request for shipping confirmation. They just have a copy/paste response saying they will arrive 2-4 weeks after they ship, but never an estimate on when they will ship.
