I got hit with a community ban on Steam without ever being told what exactly I did. No comment or post was shown, no rule mentioned. Just a sudden block and then silence.
When I contacted support, they basically told me “it was reviewed and it’s valid” — without offering a single detail. They also said I wouldn’t get any further replies. That’s it.
What’s frustrating is how this feels less like an actual rule violation and more like someone with the “right values” got offended and hit report — and the system just ran with it. No human check, no second opinion. Just automated punishment, rubber-stamped by support.
I've been using Steam for years. I’ve never had issues. Now I’m locked out of community features because someone decided they didn’t like my tone or opinion — and the system is clearly set up to side with them by default.
If moderation is driven by feelings and ideology instead of facts and rules, that’s a serious problem

They will not refund your money if you contact them directly, you will need to chargeback with your bank by calling them and telling them which purchase on your card to refund. I refunded my game by reporting the game keeps crashing.

Zero care for customers. Got sold a buggy game. Took 3 hours to try to trouble shoot connectivity. Refused a refund. Apart from being ripped off, the worst thing was the 'talk to the hand' responses from the company. Try buying through Epic Games or GOG instead. Anything except Steam. An average of 1.8 stars in customer satisfaction says it all.

I cannot trust Steam anymore i got sixth community ban for asking about pricing items on Community Market while user trying to scam me and shark to buy a not real price. I think this Company Supports Scammers and didn't do any actions to stop, also i lost over ~380 USD and ~632 USD and this money never be return all my computer life now in a Hell.

Steam est la plus grosse arnaque des plateformes de jeu. Vous arrêtez de jouer deux semaines puis vous perdez tous vos jeux et ils vous obligent à racheter ces derniers. Bref, on se fait royalement entuber pour leur plus grand bonheur financier.

if u dont want to play a game without problem, bugs or kicking u out in the middle of the game then never play any game through this shitty platform. it was made by bunch of stupid idiots.

experience en cours... ce site a la noix a flingué mon compte avec tout ce qu il y a dessus.... et bien sur aucun moyen de le récupérer !!!! les contacter : impossible apres le bip sonore 80cts la min.... et après 10 min j ai arrêté. c est LAMENTABLE !!!!

I wish I would have come here first. Be warned. Do not. I repeat. Do not buy a valve index. The hardware is absolute garbage. The first one they sent me had scuffed lenses. So I started a return process. The first month of my owning a steam vr, I spent 20 days waiting on steams AWFUL customer service ticket system, and their ridiculously slow RMA process. They sent me a second HMD and this one flickers. The screen loses power off and on. So I yet again, send my complaint to steam and wait 12 hours on their response. This is steam's only offered customer service. There is no phone option, no live chat option. You send them a message, and they reply to you 12-24 hours later to ask a question. You answer that question, and they eventually get back to you 12-24 hours later. I'm now having to send my second headset back and wait another 20 days for them to send a third one. I received the first one on April 4th 2025. Today is May 10th 2025, and I'm working on my third headset now. They refuse to refund it. Steam does not care about its customers, or their satisfaction. Be warned. Do NOT buy a steam deck, or a vr system or you will be sorry.
I have nothing to show for the 800 dollars I spent except an empty place on my desk where a vr headset should be sitting, and an empty wallet.

Ja, waar zal ik eens beginnen? Ik zie positieve reviews voor Steam maar ik geloof niet dat dit echte reviews zijn. Ik probeer om een account te openen maar ik mag daarna niet inloggen..... Wat een trieste bedoening is dit zeg. Proberen om mijn wachtwoord te veranderen is dus mijn laatste redmiddel. Ook dit loopt uit op een fiasco omdat ik elke keer op die rare plaatjes vastloop. Ik begrijp niet dat er nog zoveel mensen gebruik kunnen maken van dit gedrocht. Zonde dat er ook helemaal geen mogelijkheid is om contact te zoeken met een helpdesk. Ik kon die mogelijkheid in ieder geval niet vinden. Nee, duidelijk een website gemaakt vanuit het oogpunt van een programmeur. Die zijn niet gewend aan menselijke feedback en dat is wat hier dus fout gaat.
Ik heb de software maar neergegooid waar het hoort, in de prullenbak... Alles verwijderd en alle sporen in Windows (registerverwijzingen en bestanden) gewist zodat ik niet meer herinnerd wordt aan dit eens zo mooie platform. Zonde...

compre un juego y no me aparecio en la biblioteca pero bien que paso el pago y ya pasaron ams de 3 dias y me dicen que segun ya hay una queja con ese juego

2. Ohne Grund gebannt nur wenn man dem Suport wiederspricht.
3. Captcha System fast 60 min bis es Funktioniert.
4IHR KÖNNT ALLE Spiele auch mit J Downloader und der *.to seite kostenlos Spielen, schenkt den Abzocker kein GELD

I tried more than an hour, trying to create an account on steam, trying different methods, methods like creating a new account, reestablishing my password, putting in codes that were sent to my email. Nothing of them worked. Steam just sucks.

Steam y Schedumble son una auténtica vergüenza.
Compré su producto y no solo estaba roto y lleno de errores, sino que además cuando reclamé un reembolso me trataron como basura. Steam demuestra que solo les importa el dinero, no el cliente, y Schedumble lanza productos defectuosos sin el mínimo respeto.
No recomiendo ni comprar ni confiar en esta gente. Si buscáis juegos que funcionen bien o una plataforma que os respete como consumidores, huid de aquí. No os dejéis engañar por su marketing barato.

I had an account that I used for a long time but one day when I wanted to enter the password it was saying incorrect then tried the phone number I had in steam but error then went for steam support they asked everything I gave them like card details and everything I had bought many games there then they wanted the original email on which the account was made like seriously? I made this account like years ago and i had lost the email as well but i gave you the my card details and phone number with address what else do you need even the emails I used but they say they can't help then made another account and then bought a game but day 2 and and I can't login because its showing error again and again!

absolutely awful. Taken money twice so for one time purchase then i take the money back via paypal as they wont give refunds. They then take the one time purchase back and block my account. Then they have a different person each day responding to my emails and they just keep saying different things but wont return the items

All good, all perfect.

Problemer med en konto. deres "i'm not a robot" virker ikke, og når man prøver at få hjælp sender den dig i ring i deres "support" sider - der ikke siger noget om dette problem; man få ikke engang en e-mail address.
Hvor jeg hader denne højrøvede måde nye digitale firmaer tillader sig at være overfor ders kunder.

Great Platform

Boa Tarde venho expor a minha situação.
Roubaram-me os dados da Conta Steam, não reconhecem os meus e-mails, não reconhecem o nome de user, mas reconhecem o meu contacto telefonico.
Tento recuperar a minha conta e dá sempre erro.
Tento a ajuda e respondem que entram em contacto por e-mail mas dá na mesma o mesmo erro , tente novamente mais tarde.
Pedem fatura digital dos jogos comprados no steam.
E como é obvio após instalar o jogo e jogar, apago o histórico de compras.
Infelizmente estou céptico ao tentar recuperar a minha conta e dá erro.
Vou perder a minha lista de jogos que é vasta mas.... Pedem para Criar uma Conta Nova, é ridículo.....

I’ve been a loyal Steam user for many years. I invested a lot of time, real money, and dedication into my account, always respecting the rules and keeping everything secure.

Recently, I lost around $750 worth of in-game items — and despite doing absolutely nothing wrong (no account sharing, no phishing, no suspicious trades), Steam Support just responded with cold, automated messages.
They said:

“Steam does not restore items under any circumstances.”
“You will not receive further replies.”

No investigation. No empathy. No attempt to understand or help. I was treated like just another number. It’s shocking that a platform this big refuses to take care of its loyal users.

I’m not asking for favors — just a fair and human review of my case.
If you use Steam, think twice before investing too much… because if something goes wrong, you’ll be on your own.
